The Severn Inn is our go to place in Annapolis for oysters on the half shell and crab cakes! They have an extensive wine list and seasonal cocktails. The view across the river of the US Naval Academy make is a special location as well.
Absolutely wonderful. We drove 1.5 hours to get here. It is our second time. Loved it.
Always enjoy visiting the Severn Inn. Service is always excellent and it's certainly the best waterfront view in the Annapolis area. Although, the lunch menu is quite limited for someone that is allergic to crab meat.
Amazing view of the Academy. The food is above average and they have an amazing craft beer list. Baked oysters were very good. The lunch menu was a bit limited, but we liked everything we got.
Definitely worth the drive from Tysons Corner! One of our favorite spots to meet friends and family who live in Bowie/Annapolis area.
The entree selection is limited - and very fully priced. While the outside dining on the river was lovely, the service was very spotty (in spite of the fact the restaurant wasn’t busy.) Our meals were merely “ok,” which isn’t enough to make us want to return.
Excellent food, superb service, great views of the water, pricey but well worth it, we will be back!
We had a very enjoyable and tasty dinner looking out at the water enjoying the views and watching the sunset. We have been to this restaurant several times and have always had a pleasant experience.
We absolutely love this restaurant. It’s such a beautiful spot with a great outdoor deck in the nice weather. The food is amazing and the staff so friendly. The crab cake dinner I had was a bit pricey but awesome and huge, I could have split it with my husband! Can’t wait to go back!
Easy to find, lovely view, excellent waitress, Haley, I had the haddock which was fabulous. We will definitely be back!
The crab cakes at Severn Inn never disappoint. A friend and I both had red sangria and the crab cake with fried green tomatoes, corn relish and sautéed baby squash. Just excellent and add to that being able to sit by the river on a beautiful fall day!
This was my 5th time here and I'm not sure what went wrong yesterday but the food was not enjoyable at all. I will not be going back anytime soon.
Love this restaurant in the evening in the waterfront deck! Food and service were excellent!
Definitely will recommend the Severn Inn!
We love the setting. The food is just ok, especially given the prices. My suggestion is to sit outside on a lovely evening, and have drinks and food from the bar menu.
Made reservation for 6:30 pm. Arrived 6:25.
Checked in w Front Desk person. Restaurant was not crowded (less than 50 % of inside tables occupied).
After only a few minutes, front desk person forgot we were there, standing only a few feet away from her - she seated another couple who arrived after us . . . I mentioned this & front desk person tried to ignore my inquiry . . . but it was apparent from her reaction that she skipped us . . . after second inquiry we were seated promptly - first at a table in center of room - then at window table, which I had requested.
Table server was good. Helped us with beverage & food selections. The selection of sides on menu confused me a bit, because it implied to me that the Entree would not be filling. Server cleared that up . . . Only 6 entrees - I can be bit picky about food . . . I was fortunate to find something I liked
Food was delicious & filling.
Overall 3 stars - front desk person negatively impacted my service score . . .
Perfect way to celebrate an anniversary. The amazing weather really added to the experience. Definitely worth the splurge for us!
Was looking for a nice date night with my wife and this place delivered. Good service only compliant is limited dinner entrees.
Jake, the bartender, made excellent recommendations… And our evening!
Felt that both food and service was below average. For the price, it was not a good value. Been there before for lunch and dinner and was great. The brunch was not so good.
You go to Severn Inn for the view and ambiance. Food is not great and I really wish it was.
Sunday brunch is very good - better food and at a good price.
Nothing better than outdoor seating, on the river, on a beautiful summer evening! Great Sunday brunch too!
Prices too high. 46 dollars for crab cakes? In Annapolis? Halibut overcooked.
The Severn Inn and its location on the banks of the River, across from the US Naval Academy is a good reason to stop. The combination of indoor dining room and deck seating makes this a beautiful setting. We enjoyed the local cheese and charcuterie board, crab soups and other items that were served, including the oysters, Ahi and crab cakes - all wonderfully prepared.
Our server was very nice. We ordered crab dip that was delicious. We also ordered two salads that took over 45 minutes to be brought to the table. They must have been sitting in the back because the shrimp was not hot and the salad was not fresh! Disappointed that a $75 meal was less than satisfying.
Excellent Sunday Brunch! Service was great and did not feel rushed to turn over the table. Great place to visit with friends.
Food was great and our waiter, Steve was even better. I highly recommend it.
We had a reservation but ended up being seated at an awful table in the bar. Then I received an email fro open table saying we missed our reservation. Food is overpriced for eating in the noisy bar.
Asked for window seat as it was our anniversary, but the hostess didn’t honor my request. Restaurant inside was mostly empty, with underdressed people, in T-shirt’s and shorts. Not what you’d expect for the high food prices.
Not a place you want to dress up for on a nice occasion. Disappointing.
This is one of my favorite hidden gems. The food is spectacular and the scenery is lovely. We had a peaceful, beautiful evening. It was Thursday night and we sat outside. I usually go on the weekends when it is very busy. I enjoyed the tranquility of Thursday evening.
Beautiful setting on deck right across from Naval Academy. Great food. Service was a bit slow. Overall a great destination and a great restaurant
We went for lunch with another couple on Labor Day. I pass this restaurant all the time but never tried it before. We were all really impressed. The views of the river and the Naval Academy Bridge are incredible - every table here has fantastic views. The food was fresh, a bit elevated and worth the wait time, as each dish was cooked perfectly. Lunch menu is a little limited but we all found something we loved. Staff was all friendly. It is moderately priced - lunch for 4pp and a round of bloody marys + plus tip = $150. Very much worth it to us to get really good food and service. You get what you pay for (usually) and the Severn Inn hit the mark. We sat indoors as it was 100 out and we weren't as brave as other diners. Look forward to trying their dinner menu next.
I’ve loved the Severn Inn since we had my son’s rehearsal dinner there nine years ago this November. It keeps getting better if one can imagine that! Great job, Jaimie and staff. Beautiful restaurant, fabulous food!
Wonderful place for waterfront view while dining on fantastic food. Wine list was extensive and easy to view. We found an excellent, well priced rose from Oregon. The food was exceptional, the view was breathtaking and our waitress (Rose) was extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.
The bottomless brunch (mimosas, bloody Mary’s, and food) for $39 per person is a great deal. They have raw oysters, crab dip, steamed shrimp, along with the classic brunch ingredients, and then a dessert table alongside great views of the Severn River.
You're pretty much paying for the view, which is great, but the food needs to be better for that price. Along with the knowledge of staff. It use to be a bit more upscale which made it's pricing understandable. Now it's like every other waterfront place. Food is meh, and your definitely paying for the view.
Note to chef: Sauces should complement the ingredients, not over power them. Spice is a delicate balance, and when over done can ruin a meal.
Wait staff shouldn't look like they rolled in. Well groomed is a must when working in the food industry. I know I worked in the industry for over 20 years.
My husband had never been here before, and it didn't live up to what I have described, and it was very disappointing. More so, since as new parents we rarely get a date night out. Sad, because I really like this place before. Maybe in a year we'll try it again.
The food and atmosphere were excellent; however, did not like the fact that our waiter used the Lord's name in vain. Nor did I like the fact that the waiters use a PDQ terminal and hover while you are determining the tip to leave. Definite turn off.
Fantastic Sunday Brunch. Incredible experience.!
Severn Inn does an excellent brunch buffet. It is a little pricey, but easy to get your monies worth if you take advantage of all the different tables and drinks.
A great choice for a special occasion. Great seafood.
Had a lovely time sitting on the lower deck. Staff was friendly and helpful, food was great.
