Severn Inn Ratings and Reviews
The food is underwhelming. The squash salad was doused in a thick gloppy dressing, cheese, and sugar. The squash were not on display. The same can be said for the tuna and octopus appatizers as well. They were completely overpowered by everything on the plate. The cheese board presentation was lacking. There were two sad looking wilted butter leaf lettuce leaves on the plate for no apparent reason. We didn’t get dessert.
My wife and I met our son before a Navy Hockey game. The service was excellent, and understood we had a time restraint. Food was very good, and was a decent value. We shared the crab dip (Excellent), a couple of us had the crab soup (Excellent) and we shared a bottle of wine (the seemed to be a wide assortment of price/value wines on the menu). The entre's arrived in a timely manner and everyone thought their particular entre was great! We will come back!
We’ve been to Severn Inn for lunch, both inside and outside, and we’re very pleased. The overall experiences at those times were pleasant. The evening, however, was a very different story. It seemed everything was inadequate the food was average, definitely not worth the cost, although the presentation was nice. The “new” item on the menu was a pork chop. The person in our group who ordered the chop said it was over cooked, dry, and tough to eat; of the zucchini he received , some were over cooked and some were undercooked, very inconsistent. The service was almost non existent. The staff seemed young and uninterested in us, but more interested in each other. It didn’t seem like and adult was present to run the place. Overall, the cost outweighed the flavor, and not a positive experience at all.
Another terrific lunch at the Severn Inn. They can't control the weather but the good weather is typically when I head over there. This was a business lunch with 2 others and the deviled eggs were again terrific. I got the fish tacos - big piece of grilled fish in them.
Jeremy was our server and he did a terrific job. Evolution Lot 3 IPA on tap too boot
Food was good. Gnocchi was quite dense--very heavy and chewy. Server met the requirements, but was not engaging..the difference between good and outstanding service. We were surprised that given the occasion, her birthday, that we were not seated at a window. Good value, but does not measure up to other fine dining experiences.
I've watched the Severn Inn for years struggle with kitchen and front of the house talent. The best view in Annapolis, without question but struggled with quality production. My lunch visit this past Thursday proved to me that they have it together; finally. The service was great, the food was spot on and the timing was perfect. Job well done Severn Inn!
So we’ve been travelling around Washington and now in Annapolis. Read other people’s reviews about this restaurant and some have mentioned the fact that it’s over priced for what it is and I’d have to say that it’s completely true. While the food was ok it certainly wasn’t worth what we paid. The waitress was not professional and didn’t seem to know the wines which you would expect in a restaurant like this. Would not go back.
My husband and I enjoyed visits to the Severn Inn on several occasions this summer, sitting out on their beautiful deck, overlooking the river and enjoying a glass of wine and snacks. However, we took out of town guests for dinner this past weekend and were somewhat disappointed in the service, wine list and quality of food. We arrived exactly at our reserved time of 6:00 and were kept waiting because "they thought our table was cleared but it wasn't". Our server was not engaging or friendly and all six of our meals were delivered warm at best. The view is spectacular but sadly the food is mediocre.
Very disappointing meal. The Severn comes highly recommended. The staff were mostly young and willing but unsupervised and untrained. When the price of the menu is so high, you expect superior service and excellent food. The experience was lacking and the food very disappointing.
