Mouthwatering dishes leap off the menu at Seventeen. Open during the warmer months, this Bay Harbor waterfront restaurant serves classic American cuisine with elegant flair in casual digs that include a lounge, outdoor bar and patio. Chef Jarod Kirby supervises a menu that features burgers, sandwiches, salads, soup and a nice selection of entrees. It also boasts a tidy list of boutique wines, craft cocktails and beer.
Seventeen is a nice pick for a quiet lunch or a fun dining experience with friends. You can enjoy your meal indoors or opt for a scenic al fresco dining experience on the patio. The restaurant also boasts a full-service bar where guests can relax. Seventeen's facilities include several private dining rooms and a spacious loft that can be reserved for birthdays, parties and other private events.
Not very many people there mid-week, off-season when we went, but still had very good quality food, service. Filet was done just right. very good lemon cake for dessert. This place is probably really hoppin' in season/weekends. Good food, drinks, wine list. Recommend highly! Will be back!
In the past we have dined at 17 several times and enjoyed it..Our last experience was OK for ambiance and wait staff...My entree "Surf & Turf" was not even a small plate, but a minuscule appetizer with 2 small scallops and a 1" piece of pork belly.. No garnish, no vegetables...Yes it was tasty, but not at all what I expected from past experiences...
It was very frustrating to be waiting in the restaurant and my dinner guests were waiting in the lounge and to never be connected. When I checked in the reservation was removed. When my guests arrived, they were told there were no reservations and waited for me in the bar. I waited in the restaurant. There were a total of 10 people in the restaurant while I sat there for nearly two hours. My guests were fearful that something had happened to me and actually called the hospital and 9-1-1 as they knew I would not stand them up. They had been assured that there were no reservations and the bartender never checked in with the servers to see if someone was waiting.
Halibut was horribly overcooked for three of us. Rumor is that 17 is closing.
Very expensive for a below average meal
Fabulous birthday treat!
Amazing food and service!
Will be back!
Great food and s beautiful view.
Creative menu. Can't wait to return.
We decided to try Seventeen based on my sister's recommendation. We were celebrating an anniversary. We arrived to a friendly hostess and door person. Our waitstaff was terrific and very friendly. She made great recommendations from the menu which was helpful. The food was very tasty although a little pricey. The atmosphere was a little loud and made it difficult to hear each other. There was a table with 10 people right next to us who might have had a little too much to drink and were overtly loud. Once they left, the dining room was quiet and enjoyable.
Service was poor. Unfortunately despite asking for a quiet table for an anniversary we were surrounded by a large group of loud drunken egomaniacs.
The one waiter outside catered to this group forgetting our drink orders and bringing our appetizer with the main course.
Too bad. Nice place. Night ruined.
Too many other great places.
Would like to see more menu options
We came over by boat from Charlevoix. We told Andrew, our sever, that we wanted to be in and out so we did not have to boat home in the dark. All was accomplished- food was great as always, scenic view of the harbor and very good service.
Great Food - So must be a great Chef! Thank you! Also, a great and friendly staff and a well stocked bar - with a nice selection of single malt scotches.
Great service, food, view- what more can you ask for!
Small portions for price.
Order rare, they overlook.
Food was very good but it took forever to come out of the kitchen. Service rated down because of that The wait staff were good.
Great view along with food! Happy bar scene, lively crowd and rockin' food!
Great views, service and food. Chef works on creating some unique flavors and has a good choice selection. Deviled eggs are a must and the chocolate cake for two is divine!
Great food and view and even better service! My boyfriend is a chef and I am a mixologist and we are young for our careers so typically we get treated like "bad tippers" when we go to eat but our waitress was very kind and knowledgable. They have an extensive wine and spirit list and get a lot of their produce from local farmers which is great! Highly recommended.
Oysters were old verging on bad. Ran out of the soup of the day by 7pm. Meals were ok at best.
Sorry, but although this is a beautiful restaurant in a great location, the food is overpriced and not very good. The best thing on the menu is the $16 burger....everything else is way overpriced and the portions are tiny. Extremely expensive for this area....definitely catering to Bay Harbor residents and tourists.
great location, great food, great service, ease of reservation was appreciated, will go back soon!!!
Good food, a bit pricey for the area. Not for locals. We had a waitress who seemed like she didn't want to be there
We were seated shortly after arrival, after hostess confusion regarding our reservation. Had water poured instantly, and then waited 25 minutes to order a drink. Waiter could not be more uninterested in good service. Food eventually came, was good, but chicken was only 6 bites, very poor value. Would not go back or recommend
Excellent food, great view, great service. We will be back again.
The staff was rude the food was awful. Not what I remember in previous visits. I will not return. Wasted $100.00 on a meal for me and my two children. We were starving and didn't have time to complain.
Lake views outside, great bar and food, very good service and wonderful atmosphere- what more can one want!
Beautiful restaurant , service, food and presentation...fabulous !
Consistently very good. Love the deviled eggs, kale caesar, libations, lakeside view outdoors and service. Already made our reservation to return on July 4th for fireworks and dinner!
We especially liked our waiter John who did a fabulous job!
I've been to 17 many times and it never disappoints!
Great salads, soups and fish! Excellent service and fun drinks! Table had a good window view.
Everyone enjoyed their meal, but my burger was exceptional! One of the best burgers I've ever had. We will be back!
Petoskey Restaurant Week is this week and Seventeen's menu is EXCELLENT for this week. Some of the items are on the regular menu and I would order them again. Great choices.
It was very quiet the night we went...only 2 other tables. The Bread basket is amazing!! I could have made my meal on the bread alone. They were very cautious and brought special bread for my son with nut allergies without even asking! My son had the chicken, Husband had the salmon and I had the burger....all delicious!
Setting: Friday, 6:00PM, two other active tables at the time.
I could not rate the food quality higher. The service was another matter. Between order and first course (soup) the wait was 20 minutes. Between clearing dishes from first course and entree arrival, 35 minutes. Finished and waiting for bill: 12 minutes. Although the (loud) table behind us got an extra helping of attention, we were ignored [should we have been more noisy, i wonder?] It was disappointing because the food was extraordinary, and we'll not go back. Bill for 2 including 1-wine, 1 beer: $105+tip
Terrific service with a very pleasant and accommodating server, and great 3 course food selections. It was a very nice New Year's Eve dinner with our daughters.
Staff is simply the best. The hostess, servers, bar tenders and all throughout the dining room were exceptional. Crafted cocktails were made to perfection, as were the appetizers and entrées. Oh and not to mention the desert. Clearly a very talented chef and team.
