Seven Quarts Tavern Ratings and Reviews
This is the forth time I have returned. This time with friends.
As always the food was imaginative and flavorful. The Mules, were ice cold, in copper mugs. Delicious.
The waitstaff and Brian were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect evening with great friends.
I am thrilled that this gem is close enough to be considered in our neighborhood.
See you next time :)
Food was great! Had the Grilled Romaine salad and special Mac & Cheese "share plates"r. Split an entree (Short Ribs - which were super tender and delicious) and was more than enough food for two people! Great selection of IPA's and bartender was very attentive. Will definitely be back.
We live locally and are somewhat regulars. This spot has been a few different restaurants and I think Seven Quarts is going to be the one that sticks. Food is great with many options. Good Bar specials, small plates and entrees. Walter is a quality bartender and conversationalist. Only comment I have is that if you do not have a reservation, regular customer or not, then you are not getting a table even with a little wait. I get it but sometimes you need to bend the rules and try to work out something. Bar is on the small side so eating at the bar is limited and not readily available at busy times.
Overall a solid and reliable upscale pub with many options.
Cozy is a good word for Seven Quarts... looks like it used to be a house right along 25A...
Came here to celebrate my new job opportunity and were sat at a quiet deuce next to the fireplace that was not lit, but still cozy. Service was attentive and friendly, and checked in with us often, as she was the only one in our section of 'the house'. House chardonnay is surprisingly nice and worth it, but would rather see local wines on the menu. For dinner we started off with 1/2 dozen fresh and clean oysters, and then had the pork belly - YUM! for my entree, I had a steakhouse quality ribeye and fingerling potatoes. Whatever veggie was served didn't matter, that steak HAD no chance!!! Make sure you leave room for dessert, as that Chocolate Brownie dessert with Captain Crunch topping is NOT to be missed!!!
Will be back... I wanna go back now, and was only there 3 nights ago!!
We sat upstairs which we hoped would be quieter than downstairs, it wasn't. Do not eat here if you want a nice quiet meal it is incredibly LOUD. Food was good, service was SLOW. There is no bread basket given which was very surprising. Won't be returning anytime soon.
Even though this was our 5th time going to this restaurant, this is my first review for it.
The food is always good, with a very nice selection. Everybody can find something they like there.
This our neighborhood restaurant and each time we know we won't be disappointed.
What a disappointment! Portions are small for the prices charged (5 scrawny--and I do mean scrawny-- shrimp for a $15 shrimp cocktail; steak "tidbits" served as "Steak frites"--not a steak-- and not disclosed as such on the menu, etc.). Food flavor was nothing special and in many cases not cooked properly (medium rare order comes out very well done; brussel sprouts overcooked and mushy; a grilled romaine salad served ice cold, not even warm, etc.) This was a $200 dinner for 2 that was a waste of money and enjoyment. Will not be returning.
My friends and I had a wonderful experience. Everything we ordered was prepared and served to our liking. Service was excellent and the atmosphere friendly.
We sat doenstairs and did not see the entire restaurant. The Tavern is in an old historic home.
We definitely look forward to returning to try other things on their menu.
I went for lunch with my friend- Warm, cozy atmosphere, great service and excellent food. Great drink, wine and beer list too! I would love to go back for dinner or even brunch - they have a great upstairs space which would be nice for a more intimate dinner.
What a great place! Found this gem on OpenTable. I have to say that we were ALL very happy. We were promptly seated in the main dining area off the bar, which was lively. Gina was our waitress and was excellent and helpful with the menu. A nice, reasonably priced wine list started our evening, followed with starters, me ordering the Chipotle Corn Chowder and my wife a salad. We both had the Entrée specials; Rack of Lamb and the Cod Fish. Both were just delicious! Our friends ordered both ordered off the menu and though I don't recall exactly what they had, I know they thoroughly enjoyed them. Fun time! We will return!
Perfect for 6 of us that took my Mother out for her birthday! We had the entire upstairs to ourselves, excellent waitress very attentive! The food was fantastic and many beer option for the men! Also GF options were available! Will definitely be back again!
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Food was great. Would have liked a vegetarian entree option. Our server, Kim ,was very pleasant and took time to explain the menu and wine list. We just moved to the area from the south shore of Nassau county and have been exploring the area restaurants. Seven quarts Tavern is on our list of new favorites !
been here a number of times. From the first visit to this one it just seems to get better. Brian [ proprietor] is very welcoming and makes the place hum. Food is very good. Lively but comfortable sitting on the first floor. The service this past Sat. was outstanding just making for a real pleasant experience. Was told was second nite on the job for the waitress. Forget her name [shame on me] but what a great addition to 7 Quarts.
