The restaurant’s unique name comes from an extended essay by English art critic John Ruskin. The "lamps" refer to the seven principles of architecture: sacrifice, truth, power, beauty, life, memory and obedience. Inspired by the essay, Co-owner and Executive Chef Drew Van Leuvan recognized that these important principles are also very applicable in the kitchen as he "builds" plates.

I booked a 8:45pm reservation however nobody checked or asked as I walked in and they repeatedly said that they were closing at 9pm. The waitress kept repeating that and I was very confused as if they still served food and if so, why would they not want to seat us given we had booked a reservation.
Great location. Nice setting wood walls, tables and floors
Super good food
Dinner was absolutely fantastic! It was a very personable experience for my birthday. They went out of their way to make it very special. The food was amazing and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be going there again.
Great food ! Tara was awesome! Cozy setting.
The only thing that is a little off from expectations is the fact that the tables are communal. So unless you are going with a group and reserve seating for 6-8-10-12 then you are sitting next to strangers. Not a serious candlelit date night romantic one on one.
The experience was one of the best.
David was our server and from the Moment the night started it was defined by good energy and very informative talks.
Thank you to Seven Lamps for being accesible as well.
Excellent cocktails, food, and service! Daniel did a wonderful job. We will definitely be back.
Last nights dinner was unforgettable! I just got a promotion and put special occasion on the reservation. Denny from seven lamps
Called to ask what the special occasion was and made sure I felt so welcomed when I arrived. The menu had “congrats on the promotion” and we were given champagne and desert to celebrate! The food was phenomenal! Great service - will definitely be coming back!
Very fresh menu with delicious ingredients. Service was attentive but not overly-so. Would recommend.
Service and food were great! I didn’t go out of my way to let them know it was my birthday, but I guess opentable has that information available for them? They made it special by recognizing it anyways and sending dessert towards the end. I will definitely be back!
Great food with a reasonable price with wonderful experienced service.
Jen was amazing.! The food was great. The experience was memorable.
The pasta and kale salad were excellent. Quiet. Wasn’t crowded enough to have any interference despite being communal dining style.Great service
Although it was a small menu, everything was delicious! We tried several starters and 2 meals. Everything was super fresh. Any questions we had (and we asked a ton) were answered without hesitation. Definitely worth a visit. This is the kind of place to visit at least once a month since they seem to change items on their menu.
It was cold and dreary outside but everything inside was warm and friendly. Will definitely be back in the near future.
This restaurant was quite a dining experience! The food is great- definitely try their margarita and crispy Brussels sprouts! However, diners be warned- seating is community style, so if you're hoping for a quiet date night or privacy, you may want to go somewhere else. It was a little awkward being wedged between two other couples elbow to elbow. The service was excellent and so accommodating.
Ate an early NYE dinner during a stopover in Atlanta.and am grateful to have found this gem! The food and service were spectacular! Followed the advice of other reviews to try the steamed lobster bun and was not disappointed. Everything from the unique cocktails and small plates to the homemade pasta and dessert was excellent. A wonderful dining experience!!
It was great!
Awesome as always
Very loud inside. Patio is much better for conversation if the weather is nice.
It was our first time. Entry way is tight; it was windy and cold and no one there to greet. Finally someone came and got me seated. She didn’t ask name or about reservations, so told her I had one. Menu was pleasing and my choices were terrific. My guest complained about excessive amount of shell on the shrimp in her salad. Otherwise, it was OK but not exceptional.
We had a party of 12 to celebrate my friends 40th birthday. It was such a wonderful experience. Seven lamps gave us a complementary champagne toast and also took the time to print the birthday girls name on the menu! Everyone had a great time. We were bummed that we forgot to take a menu with us for the birthday girl!
This place is so cute and trendy! The ambiance is new and inviting, the owner is cooking and the food is unique and fantastic. It’s like we were watching the cooking channel. We will definitely be back!
So so great to stop in for a wonderful lunch amid Christmas shopping!! Thank you, Elijah!
We went for my dads birthday- they called me to confirm my reservation and asked if they could do something special for him-very nice tough. Menus were printed with his name and Happy Birthday and he got a birthday dessert. Drinks were nice but about 15% over priced. Chorizo potato chips were good but 3oz of chorizo and 3 chips for $8? Mussels were fabulous-cooked perfectly in a great sauce and big portion-well worth it. Three of us had the Octopus- it was delicious and again, cooked perfectly. The sauce was nice but was too much of it. As per the value-it was very small for $20-three bites and was more like a tapas or appetizer. My dad had the 50/50 burger (picky eater) and loved it-potatos that came with it were fantastic and this was a good portion and value. My son had a duck breast and gobbled it all up-again, wonderful dish and this one was good sized/good value. Mezzaluna pasta (butternut squash with brown butter sage) was ok-not there best dish. The dessert was a white chocolate pot de creme which was amazing-better than I can make myself and we all fought for another bite. Service was quick and friendly but twice they came and actually took away food we were still eating (I think they needed the table for another party as they were busy) Overall I would go back and try more dishes and definitely get the mussels and pot de creme again.
Food and service were both outstanding. My first time there, but won't be my last!
Recommended by a friend; decided to come here to celebrate a good friends birthday. They went above and beyond to make her feel special. From the second we walked in the door and were greeted by such a warm host and seated; to when my friend saw Happy Birthday (with her name on menu) the evening was exceptional. We immediately noticed the teamwork in the very busy restaurant. Our server Ericka was remarkable and on point. Every cocktail that Trey made was awesome. On top of an amazing staff the food was equally amazing. Thank you Seven Lamps for being such a special place and making my friends birthday spectacular! We'll be back!
Limited menu, so look before you go.
The food was delicious, service was great and fast. There was a very loud (and likely drunk) party that really drowned out the room. But it wasn’t too unbearable. The waiter brought over free desert with our check, which was much appreciated.
Overall great, chill date spot.
Among the best meal that I or my guests have had in Atlanta. From the mushrooms to the mussels and from the fish to the soup, every dish presented a journey of flavors and textures - expertly executed. I have found this kind of culinary quality missing at most of the regions restaurants. This is all to say that mine is difficult palate to stimulate. But stimulation it ushered- and more. I found the cheerful maitre d ( I think the gm) a bit informal as well as a tad too loud and exuberant, but it was a minuscule price to pay for the gustatory pleasure that was to ensue.
I was a bit underwhelmed by the food
Great atmosphere, amazing food great wine.
Neighborhoody vibe but elevated. I can’t wait to go back!
First time dining @ Seven lamps. The mussels were some of the best we have sampled in the USA and the broth with the andouille sausage was terrific. The cottage fries were a great addition to the mussels. The trout was very good. Vinny the manager was very helpful. We will come back.
The cocktails and food were delicious. Nice rustic atmosphere with communal table setting. Do not recommend if you want to have a private conversation.
The Charcuterie tray was exceptional. The blend of flavors was “ the bomb”. Wine from Spain, great choice.
As all others have stated the Lobster Brioche, was over the top. The only down point.... the noise, oh the noise...
Had some yummy butternut squash stuffed pasta with browned butter and sage. Quite delicious! Will go again.
Love the food here. I had the agnolotti. It was sweet, Spivey and savory. Delicious
We love this place. All the food we had was amazing. Beef cheeks, mussel chowder, cottage fries, brussel sprouts and the list goes on!
Server was kind and attentive. The mango & cucumber salad, the main mussels chowder and the cottage fries were all delicious!
