The restaurant’s unique name comes from an extended essay by English art critic John Ruskin. The "lamps" refer to the seven principles of architecture: sacrifice, truth, power, beauty, life, memory and obedience. Inspired by the essay, Co-owner and Executive Chef Drew Van Leuvan recognized that these important principles are also very applicable in the kitchen as he "builds" plates.

Enjoyed a Friday evening meal: delicious food, friendly and great service!
The menu had some really nice choices. The cod fritter was and excellent tapa to start with. I enjoyed my old fashion style whiskey drink choices...the 57th I had two! Ambiance was nice for a casual date, or by the looks of the crowd, larger groups as the seating set-up was longer tables to share. Wasn't an overall busy night, we sat right away even with a reservation. The server however I think forgot about us, kinda of a bummer. We initially only order the small tapas to share and our drinks which came out in good time, but then we sat finished, stacked plates to the side which sat there as well, and waited at least 30 mins just to order the 'main', which took even longer to come out. The gnocchi was excellent! I bartend and my gf is a server, we know what being weeded feels like, looks like, and patience, or when its just missed. The group of 3 next to us, who joined the table after we sat, finished dessert while we still waited. What likely should've been an hour for dinner ended up closer towards an hour and 45. Benefit of the doubt though.
Great service and really hard working management. Great food.
Recommended for foodies
-Poor service, the hostess didn’t even speak to us
-I was sweating in the restaurant because it was hot, barely felt any A/C
-The staff are rude
-The food was overcooked and dry, lack of flavor
Overall, overpriced with the exception of the drink being the only thing considered excellent! Good job bartender!
Service was outstanding. Food taste was good. Desert option looked good but your kitten was having issues so only one option was available. Most notable dislike was the surface of the tables made us feel that the Resteraunt was dirty.
Noise level was too loud to have a conversation
A great hidden gem tucked away in the corner of retail shops. Craft cocktails were really good. Staff is friendly and food is good. Make reservations in advance.
Awesome food, nice neutral atmosphere and I loved the open kitchen concept. We had the Mezzaluna, Ravioli, Mussels and Roasted Beet salad, ALL of it was on point and that mussel broth was insane. The pasta comes in a pretty big portion for quality and price. So so good.
One of the first things noticed by our party of four was that our table was coated in an unsettling sticky stain. This was unfortunate and I’d recommend addressing this issue. Our server never smiled and he seemed irritated by our presence - unsure as to the reason. The rest of the staff was very friendly. Rating is based on overall vibe, creative and tasty menu items and cocktails. Fell in love with Mr. Nice Guy!
The food and waiter was excellent! Unfortunately, the host was extremely rude and made my party feel uncomfortable and unwelcomed.
Amazing food and service on the patio!! Will be back!!
Our first time in Atlanta and read reviews on Seven Lamps. We were close by and thought we’d try it. We were so impressed the moment we walked in. The food was out of this world, especially the mussels!! Service was excellent as well. Can’t wait to go back!!
Fresh, well presented.
Lovely dining experience as always. The black rice huckleberry Salas with chicken was amazing.
Always a great meal. This is one of our favorites!
Very enjoyable evening! Ambiance was good, service was good. The food was tasty!
I took a client to this restaurant. The server was not good, there was 3 of us. He brought two waters but forgot third person and we were waiting for awhile. He brought out the food, he would slam the food on the table. He would take someone ones plate not everyones, when others was done same time. It was very bad service. Yes the good was good but the service was so bad I never wish to come back.
No good pescatarian options. Server was slow and inattentive.
Chris was our server and he was wonderful- very knowledgeable and we never had an empty glass of water-
Food was fabulous- oysters, charcuterie, salads, pasta, mussels, and fish- I highly recommend the mezzaluna pasta dish and the trout dish ! The squash side was just amazing. The pappardelle dish was a miss on my end (however it was cooked to perfection) just not nearly enough flavor for me.
Oh! And the cocktails and homemade sodas (grapefruit habanero) were perfection!
We will definitely be back to try the burger we kept seeing that wasn’t on the menu!
Food wasn’t cooked. Disgusting actually. They make you sit at tables where other guests have to sit right next to you at the same table. Extremely over priced. Poor service. I’ll never go back.
This restaurant is terrible and we will never go back or recommend. The service was good but overall it was bad.
We had oysters as an appetizer and upon my first bite, I was afraid to eat any more. It tasted super fishy and didn’t taste fresh. Luckily we didn’t get sick.
We asked for salt and pepper and it took them about 10 minutes to locate both. They brought very course sea salt, which is typically used for cooking.
My husband and daughter both had the pasta with meat sauce. My husband ordered the small portion and my daughter ordered the larger portion. When they came out from the kitchen they were both the same size.
Overall, it was mediocre at best. We will definitely not be back or recommend to anyone.
We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful setting under the lights. The food was amazing. There were three of us so we each ordered different salads and different entrees. The presentation was beautiful, but it tasted even better than it looked!! The service was excellent. This was my second time there and I will go back again soon!!
I love this place and David has been our server a couple times and he’s one of the best I’ve seen anywhere in my travels!
Great food and creative beverage options. We'll be back.
Cottage fries! Can't live without them!
Would certainly recommend, depending on the person. Incredible quality produce. The waiter recommended the tomato peach salad and I'll never forget it. My fellow diner said it's one of the three best salads she's ever had in her life. The waiter was extremely solicitous and his energy level was 11 on a scale of 10. He was overbooked and we waited a loooong time sometimes. He knew it and apologized. Inside it's as loud as a very loud bar. I wouldn't go back unless to sit on the patio because of the indoor noise. Also they kept the door open to the August heat so being a few yards away from the doorway was uncomfortable. I'm sure they did it for the comfort of the host/ess who sit in the vestibule, but if so the host/ess needs to move. Seven Lamps if you're reading this, don't close the door for us and still leave them in the vestibule, nobody wants to see a staffer melt. Fun atmosphere.
Food was delicious! We will definately go again. The four of us all had a different dishes and and tasted each others and thought how very good they were.
My husband had a drink with CBD mist in it also very good!
It’s always a great dining spot. The staff is always high energy and know the menu well! Chef Drew so creative!! Awesome food and ambiance!
Food and drinks were outstanding. My only complaint was that it took far to long to get our main course. Other than that we had a great experience.
Great food but dessert was not as good.
Four of us went to celebrate both daughter and son-in-law's birthdays. We immediately asked for a table outside after walking into the restaurant even though it was very hot outside. We wanted to be able to visit during the meal and the noise level inside would not allow it.
The food was excellent. My wife had the Agnolotti and I had a duck disk for the main course.
Our waiter was a little slow and somewhat forgetful. Had to remind him a couple of times for things that we asked for. The one thing that bothered me the most is that we did not get our bottle of wine until half way through the meal.
I did notice other tables getting a better level of service so I probably will give this place a second try but only on a cooler day when we can eat outside comfortably.
It was a lively and fun experience. Food was a touch salty--the beef. Shoshito peppers very nice and ginger pomegranate cocktail yummy.
Wonderful place with great service - super fresh & innovative menu.
Interesting, multi- flavored, thoughtfully prepared dishes that taste great. The interaction of the flavors in each dish significantly increases the joy of each bite. The chef takes risks, increasing the likelihood of creating interesting dishes.
Seven Lamps has always felt like a hidden gem; however; word seems to have gotten out. The location is tucked into a corner and provides great indoor and outdoor seating. The food and cocktails are the real prize! Weather you want a Whiskey drink or a Gin mixer, they have you covered. The Mussels are to die for and the salads are always exciting. Something for everyone!
This restaurant always exceeds my expectations! Great food and friendly service. Highly recommended.
Only complaint was that the air conditioning did not seem to be working and made for a very uncomfortable dining experience next to the open kitchen on a 95 degree day
My boyfriend wanted to go because they had burgers and fries on the cover photo, however, when we got there, there were no sandwiches on the menu. If you are looking for a bigger dinner then this would be a great place, or if you’re looking to get apps.
One of my girlfriend and my favorite places, the drinks are incredible and food never disappoints. Always 10/10.
Great farm to table spot so the menu changes constantly. Consistently great across the board.
