The restaurant’s unique name comes from an extended essay by English art critic John Ruskin. The "lamps" refer to the seven principles of architecture: sacrifice, truth, power, beauty, life, memory and obedience. Inspired by the essay, Co-owner and Executive Chef Drew Van Leuvan recognized that these important principles are also very applicable in the kitchen as he "builds" plates.

Just so-so. Service was great1 good was not- duck was pretty good- broccoli was to be roasted and it was more boiled and super soggy. The gnocchi HD sat for a while before brought to the table as the cheese was dried up and not in a good way.
Great dining experience outside under the heat lamps. Acoustics inside a little noisy.
The service was Great, the ambience Fair, the food Good. Nice place to meet friends for lunch.
Very excellent restaurant, we had an awesome waitress! The food was mind blowing. We will be back
Good place to go with a large party! Good cocktails
The food is absolutely stellar. Fresh and delicious. I love the salads with chicken. Tuna melt is really good. Service is good, but they seem short staffed. Also, the music is way too loud to have much conversation, you have to tell over. Otherwise, I really love everything else about this place. I go there regularly.
We sat on the patio for lunch and it was fantastic. The food was great, as usual. I switched it up and got the gnocchi and it was fantastic. Several got their usual lunch open faced tuna. Perfect day fir a patio lunch with great food.
Love this place! Great service & always delicious. Have been here probably 10 times, always so good. Fun cocktails too!
Great food and great service
Horrible experience at Seven Lamps. Rude hostess and even ruder manager. Our waiter took forever to take our orders and the food came out super late. Defintely will not return to this establishment nor will I recommend to friends or associates.
Great time! Good tasteful food! Great service
Great time. Inside of restaurant gets very loud
Every time we dine here we are pleased with the incredible service and unique and delicious food. The outdoor seating area is my favorite place to dine (weather permitting) as the inside dining area can be quite noisy on a weekend night. Great cocktails too!
Nice surprise! We ordered several dishes and they were all great. The lobster bun is really good.
Main dish was very very good. Food was tasty, well prepared, well presented, good portion.
Only thing bland was the dessert, had panacotta. Tasteless.
Main room very noisy, ended up sittingboutside by fireplace, nice.
I had remembered the food being a little better but perhaps the mortadella macarons affected my perception of the whole meal. They were described as sweet/savory but were far to the sweet size. Food runners were quick, and was the food itself.
Love the food and drinks here. The lobster roll wasn't as delicious as normal (love it when it is heated), but everything else was awesome as usual.
Gnocchi was excellent. Delightful salad . Amazing cocktail. Shelby my waitress made perfect recommendations that made a memorable meal
I LOVE this place. One of my favorite restaurants ever. Be sure NOT to skip on the Lobster Bun because it was love at first bite for me.
This is a local favorite of ours. Especially love sitting outside. Don't miss the roasted Brussel sprouts. Also love the hamburger -- it's not on the menu, just ask for it
Very loud and hard to hear
We love this place! I can't say enough good things about it. If we could give 10 stars for service and cocktails we would. We always ask for Kristen as our server. Nothing against the other professionals there, we just love Kristen. She treats us like family everytime.
Their cocktails are wonderful. My favorite has always been the "Cup of Booze" (mostly bourbon with all kinds of other yummy stuff). That's now off the menu but everything else is great too.
The Mussels are a must do. I'm partial to the trout. My husband always gets whatever the pasta is that day.
The seating is community tables. Most have seating for 6. So unless that's your party number, you'll likely be seated with another party or two...the more the merrier. It's a fun atmosphere, with great food, beverages, and service.
There's even an off menu hamburger if you have picky teenagers with you (as we often do).
We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. My wife and I split a generously portioned endive salad with grapefruit and various sprouts with a crisp slightly vinegary dressing. My home made tortellini with ricotta and her trout were expertly prepared. Our waitress was knowledgeable and engaging. We shall definitely return.
First time experience with a business friend. We had a delicious meal and lovely time.
Everything about our dinner was excellent!! EVERYTHING!
Uncomfortable seating if you want a private 2 top table. Very bland gnocchi dish. Will not recommend.
It was significantly overcrowded and the host staff was doing a lousy job of getting people seated and taken care of. Our reservation meant nothing. We made and 8:30 pm reservation, but they did not honor it.
There were no tables even close to ready. The food selection is sub par, and it was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other despite sitting right next to each other.
I don’t think we’ll be back, but if we do, it definitely will NOT be on a Friday or Saturday night.
The restaurant seemed nice. They were out of the swordfish and the tortellini. They were over booked and under staffed.
Excellent place to dine! Food was great! We tried the spaghetti and the tortellini and they were both superb. Would definitely go again
We ordered the pairing menu but asked for the check after waiting close to two hours for the main course. People came and left around us that order the same thing. We got charged $230 for the soup, gnocchi and 4 cocktails. The waitress couldn’t comprehend what was wrong. I’ve been here a few times before and food is always amazing but highly recommend not going for busy night such as Valentine’s Day.
I was disappointed. We have been to this restaurant numerous time and have always had very good meals and service. I made the appointment for Valentine's Day at least two weeks before February 14, 2019. I reconfirmed my reservation as requested. I also received a phone reminder. In all of our communication I was never told that there would be a fixed price menu. We arrived at the restaurant and to our surprise we were handed a special menu. Unfortunately, I was not able to eat most of what was on the menu. We were told we could get an alternate menu at the bar but there was no room at the bar. So much for making reservations. We were finally seated outside. It was a cold evening and despite the heat lamps, we were forced to eat with our coats on. The wait staff looked harassed and were running around all evening. Either they weren't prepared to serve outside or the restaurant was short staffed. As I said, we were very disappointed.
I was in town last minute and this turned out to be a great place for the 1st Valentine diner with the most Beautiful woman in the world.
We both thought Seven Lamps had a great atmosphere and the food / service was excellent!
Great experience, barkeep made me some outstanding surprise cocktails when I did not know what I wanted, swordfish was cooked perfectly on the wood-fired stove, everything tasted great. Can get loud in there, that's the only negative.
Friendly efficient service. Terrific cocktails. Creative and very tasty meal.
This was our second time dining at the seven lamps. The service and food was amazing, but it was very loud to the point we were just ready to leave by the end of the meal.
Too loud for a date. Common table seating is so tight the servers have no choice but to bump into your back as they try to squeeze in and out to help other patrons.
The food is delicious. I had the calamari and black linguine. The dish is amazing and . I don't like spicy food of any kind. This dish has poblano peppers which set my mouth on fire. I will request that the hold on the peppers next time, and I will definitely be back.
Very limited wine card. One of the oyster choices was sold out. Charcuterie and cheeses boards are recommended. Had the grout, was tast but lukewarm.
Good experience - service felt slightly inattentive compared to the larger table near us but not bad. Food is excellent and music is good.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner experience at Seven Lamps! I brought my boyfriend here for a celebratory dinner and everything was delicious from drinks to appetizers to entrees. We made a reservation on a busy Saturday night and were sat right away. It is a communal table experience which makes for a relaxed, fun vibe. Lovely ambiance and excellent menu selections. We will definitely return!
