The smell of delicious pizza welcomes you as soon as you walk through the door, great start! The wine options are good and the portions are great. Highly recommend the Margherita pizza, Caesar salad or Chicken Parm. Definitely recommend!

We were the only people in the restaurant :/. The bread was great but everything was overpriced. I had to pay $11 extra for chicken on my dish and the carbonara was not good it was too soupy

Service was lacking and not due to busyness or lack of staff, food came out at different times and had to call wait staff for drink reorders. Food itself was quite good though. Atmosphere could use some warmth and cohesiveness- very open and cold. More diner like seating than nice restaurant. Recommend for food only and not for special occasion.

My FIL was looking forward to a pizza or calzone, I was looking forward to the bread. But when we sat down, they told us the pizza oven was down. In fact, it had been down for 4 months!! The calamari appetizer was OK but the "spicy" marinara that came with it was very bland. The pastas we ordered were all only OK. The arrabiata was not spicy, the sausage and rabe was OK once we doctored it was salt, pepper, parm, olive oil...my pumpkin ravioli was tasty but the sauce was supposed to be a brown butter sage sauce and it def was not brown butter, more like clarified butter maybe with a little bit of cream? All in all a disappointing experience.

We were there pre-theater for happy hour drinks and food ... 5 of us. Nice table, service great, drinks and food as usual - so good. Two of us had been at Sette once before and we introduced our 3 friends -- everyone was very pleased!

Didn’t even get to eat or get a drink. We sat waiting at our table for 25 minutes and not a single server came. Eventually just walked out. Some other people had been served but saw others in the restaurant as confused as I was

I really enjoyed the experience of going to Sette Osteria. It's a great place for a dinner with a friend or a date. The music choice was a little strange for the setting in my opinion, but it wasn't so loud that it was distracting. The food was really delicious although I thought the upcharge for gluten free pasta was a little steep. The service was quick and we got our food soon after ordering. The waitress did not seem that happy to be there. Overall, it's a very nice restaurant with great energy and a good location.

Great family Italian restaurant. Would be far better if they weren't blaring bubblegum pop music. I'd humbly request lower volume instrumental. It doesn't have to be hoity toity Italian classical like a white tablecloth place; just a calmer ambience would go a long way.

My friend and I were talking when we arrived for our dinner reservation at Sette on 14th Street about the fact that last time we ate there, it wasn’t very good, and we decided they were just having an “off” night. As we continued to talk about, we realized we had never been to this restaurant that we hadn’t made excuses for them having an “off” night. This is partly because we’re very fond of Sette on Connecticut, and had simply given them the benefit of the doubt. They don’t deserve it, and they really never have. The waiter was pushy enough about taking our order, but less so about getting our food to the table. It took 55 minutes from the time we ordered for them to deliver a calzone, a margherita pizza, and a bowl of arrabiata pasta. Please don’t be surprised when I tell you it wasn’t worth waiting for. The pizza was covered with grated mozzarella , not studded with slices of fresh buffalo mozzarella as I expect on a “Classica” margherita pizza. And in fact, the menu promises fresh mozz. The calzone was actually pretty good. The arrabiata tasted no better than 365 tomato sauce with almost no spice. Happily, the red pepper flakes on the table had a little kick to them. Water was only offered at the beginning; after that we had to beg for it. Once I had to get up and walk over to our waiter to ask for water because they were standing with their back to us looking at their phone and refused to hear me trying to get their attention. Lest you think it rude of me to call for them across a crowded dining room, there was one other party in the whole restaurant, and they were as put out as we were. That’s it. No more excuses for Sette 14th Street having an “off” night. From now on, they’ll all be off nights for me. It’s a shame, really. We wanted so badly for it to be good, we actually pretended it was for years.

Everything was excellent! I went with a friend to celebrate my birthday. Didn’t realize they have happy hour everyday!! We made it just in time to catch the end of happy hour!! Staff was super friendly and accommodating. And the food was amazing! Very fresh and delicious! 10 out of 10 recommend!!

Dined here with friends the other night, only to be hugely disappointed. Had visited in the past (maybe 3 or 4 years ago), and the place has really gone downhill since then. Service was inattentive (our waitress was doing double duty as hostess), and we had to keep reminding them of things we had ordered or requested. The bar selection was non-existent (a lot of menu options not available); also, when it comes to drinks, a restaurant shouldn't have just one kind of anything -- vodka, tequila, rum, etc. Food is decent when they get your order right, though the prices are somewhat extravagant (but expected for the neighborhood). Really, the whole place needs an overhaul. So much of the space is dated and neglected. Jars of colored, shaped pasta are used as decor in one part of the dining room, which you used to see a lot in the 1990s. Sette is barely operating as a functional restaurant at this point and that's too bad. A lot of potential here...

Food good. Atmosphere terrible due to loud noise coming from their hvac unit or fan. We could not hear ourselves despite the restaurant being empty. Would not recommend ordering any after dinner coffee as it was burnt and un-drinkable. They didn't care.

Food was great, servers were attentive in refilling our bottomless drinks, ambience was very nice. Only real complaint was that our server that seated us did something really odd: she logged us as being seated at 11:52 AM for our 12:30 PM reservation, thereby us having to explain to our server (different one) that we were getting pre-maturely cut off from our 2 hr bottomless drink time by a whole 38 minutes! Thankfully, after we explained she let us continue to drink until our actual time limit since we didn't actually sit down until 12:35 PM.

The waitress wanted to take our order immediately after we sat down. We asked for a couple of minutes and she returned in 15. We ordered wine and food. Another waitress returned to say they didn’t have the wine we wanted so we ordered another. Meanwhile the first courses arrived. Altogether we tried to order 4 different wines off their list which they did not have. Finally we settled for a wine they brought to the table and recommended, and which was well past it’s prime and almost off. The entree arrived (another waiter) just as we were starting our appetizers. Since there was no place on the table to put it, he returned it to the kitchen and told us to let him know when we wanted it. Altogether the food was barely passable and the service was unbelievably bad, and the entire experience was unnecessarily chaotic.

Food was good. But service was way too fast. There were plenty of open tables, so there was no need to rush us. Sure, we could have told the server that we were in no hurry. Regardless, though, there was no reason why our entrees should arrive within minutes of our drinks. It’s not a quick service restaurant after all.

Wide open floor plan with good light, this restaurant does not have a bad seat! We enjoyed happy hour food specials and our window view of the bustling DC streets. As far as small plates we tried: The gnocchi is awesome, as are the meatballs. Mushroom flatbread was also tasty. The pizza is a bit bland. Overall, we loved this spot!

I took my son and two friends for dinner. Food was good but nothing out of this world. For $12 a glass the wine portion was skimpy. It was fun to sit outside on 14th Street and people watch. Waitress was nice. Reliable Italian fare.
