Sette Osteria - 14th St
Decor: Sette Osteria has an open pizza station viewable by guests.
The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy 14th street. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is rustic and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz.

I have been for both happy hour and dinner. The food is delicious, the service attentive without being annoying, and affordable. This is my new neighborhood go-to in the neighborhood for Italian
Delicious mushrooms & ravioli, salmon, and pasta with clams.
Great pre-theater dinner.
Over all very good. Salad and pizzas were very good so was desert. The second time we went to eat and the only real issue is the noise. Very hard to have a conversation.
Very nice space and good food and service. We had dinner before going to Studio Theater down the street. Great choice
The food is yummy but we didn't get seated for almost a half an hour after our reservation time, and it took around 45 minutes for our food to come out after we ordered. Service was terrible. While the waitress was kind, she never checked in on our table and we had to ask multiple people for the check, which eventually showed up. Ambiance is trendy and while I would recommend this as a great weeknight date spot, I won't be returning on the weekends. The restaurant was too loud and it was impossible to have a conversation.
Food was decent. I didn’t enjoy the apple tart. It wasn’t warm and the taste and texture were disappointing. Overall, we had a good time.
Avoid the noisy trendy spots on 14Th and come here for home made pasta and great prices
And you can actually have a conversation here
Host is a REAL Italian - from Milano
Excellent as always
The food and ambiance were excellent! I would go back any time and recommend it to anyone.
Everything was very good and fairly reasonably priced. The service was good. Our biggest issue was just the noise level we were hardly able to hear each other speak.
The food was fabulous. The service was a little slow, but still did not detract enough to take away anything but five stars!
We got there early, 6:15 and it was empty, everyone was extremely hospitable. Filled up by 7:15pm and still hospitable but loud. Food was delicious.
We had a pre-theatre dinner there and the food was excellent. Unfortunately, things got crowded and after speedy service of our salads and entrees, dessert disappeared and we had to cancel them after waiting 40 minutes. The staff was very apologetic and I would certainly eat there again.
Very noisy and our waitress was not attentive. Food is excellent, but there are many options with better service in the U Street area.
Excellent service and food. Pasta was cooked perfectly and the service was prompt and unobtrusive.
Always an excellent Friday night choice. Great food and friendly crew. Perfect neighborhood spot!
Food was great but a little over priced. Restaurant was bright and loud. All things aside, I’d still go back.
Our waitress was Fabius as always!
Great place for dinner. Knowledgeable staff, lots of options on the menu. Upscale, yet casual.
It was overall a very good experience. The food was good and the staff members were friendly.
Favorite spot in DC!
Milica was our server. She was amazing. Loved her.
New Years brunch. One Benedict was over cooked and service was extremely slow with one waitress.
Finding ourselves unexpectedly adrift on New Year's Eve, we booked a last minute table at Sette on 14th. We were glad to find a table at a local favorite. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the restaurant was filled with balloons in anticipation of the new year. The only wrinkle in the evening was that pizza was not on offer that night (which is what we'd hoped to have), so we had to choose from the remainder of the extensive menu. The 4 course menus looked amazing, but we had room only for one course. We were finished by 9pm, just as the festivities were kicking into high gear, so can't comment on the later evening experience.
The balloons were a bit much
Food was great had an awesome server who checked on us regularly. Hostess was very accommodating. Wine was perfect. We enjoyed our time
The wait staff was very patient with our table - large party including 5 kids 6 years old and under. Thanks!
Overall pretty good.
Was seated at a table crammed in the corner next to the a window with the worst draft ever on a freezing evening. Couldn’t enjoy my meal without leaving my coat on. The pasta was all overpriced. One of my friends ordered the cacio e Pepe, which only needs four ingredients, and they forgot two of them. It basically came out as just noodles in pasta water. Our server didn’t even come back to check on us until everyone meals were over and only then noticed his plate was untouched and asked if he wanted something else instead (after everyone else was finished). The manager came over to apologize and picked up his cocktail but it was too little too late. Won’t be going back.
My favorite neighborhood place. They menu provides options for many and reasonable priced!
We had an enjoyable dinner here, but truthfully it wasn't anything to write home about. Go here for average Italian-American fare at a DC pricepoint (i.e. a tad overpriced given the quality). If you have a craving for lasagna or tiramisu with no fancy surprises, this is a good place to go. Back of the restaurant makes for a quiet place for conversation, whereas the front is more lively. I had the veal ravioli on special, which was fine, but incredibly salty. I cannot remember any time I have complained about a dish being too salty, but this dish was truly overwhelming. The hostess was kind enough to ask if I wanted another dish or for the chef to remake my meal, but my salt tolerance is high, and I had no issue finishing my plate. Overall, not my first choice for Italian food in the city.
Food was average, service was periodically hard to find, and the noise level was through the roof. Don’t know if it was just the large table of 20-something’s next to us, but half the time I couldn’t hear what my friend sitting right in front of me was saying. I’d seriously question going back.
Solid menu. Good service. I’d go again.
Food was not bad. Italuan wines are the only reason to come. We were kicked off few minutes after 9. I was told at the phone that the kitchen closed at 9. I understand it was Thanksgiving, but I do not get the point of being kicked off.
Thanksgiving, everything was good except the food was marginal, but in fairness it was Thanksgiving and 7pm. The food tasted warmed over from this afternoon.
Lovely find in DC for pasta, nice wine by the glass. Noisy in front, quiet near the back.
As soon as we were handed our menus our server asked us if we were ready to order. We hadn't even had time to open the menus at that point, and it was clear we weren't welcome to take our time. When we did order, my uncle ordered the ribeye (important to note). Our food came out insanely fast, in less than 10 minutes. Normally this isn't something to complain about but we definitely felt rushed. My uncle was served the short ribs. He's not one to complain and he thought it was good so we just told the server after he was done. She didn't even apologize or offer to adjust our check. The food we all got was fine - nothing to write home about or come back for. Overall it was a disappointing experience and we won't be back.
Food was great, good place for families
We ate Sunday brunch here and the food was excellent. It was a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon.
