What can I say. It is always delicious.
Wonderful evening. We started out seated at a table by the window however a woman with two Irish Setter service dogs sat at table next to us. We are major dog lovers and empathetic to anyone in need of a service dog but unfortunately, the dogs smelled very bad and my husband started sneezing. The waiter was very understanding and we were seated at another table. While it was not by the window, we appreciated the ability to change tables.
They brought warm bread to the table with a nice olive oil. I did not partake but my husband was in his glory. I started out with the salad of winter greens and it was just fantastic. They easily accommodated my request to forego the almonds. I really wanted to try one of the pastas but not as my entrée. The waiter advised that they could give me a half portion to go with my entrée. I chose the pasta with broccoli rabe and the pasta was al dente as I like it and the broth was excellent. For the entrée I went with the Sea Bass. It must have been cooked in a cast iron skillet because they got a perfect char on the skis and it was cooked to perfection. It was a very generous portion of fish accompanied by spinach and two small potatoes. After the salad and pasta I only ate half of my entrée and enjoyed the leftovers the next day.
My husband had the risotto special which he said was a bit lacking in flavor but good. He had the halibut which was cooked to perfection but when compared to my Sea Bass, was not as flavorful.
The service was spot on. The only slight negative is that we brought two very expensive bottles of wine, a white and a red, and the waiter put the wrong corks in each for us to take home. I did not think it was a big deal but my husband said that is a major faux pas in the wine world. The owner, Alan, always makes his way to every table and is extremely gracious. No doubt that his attentiveness has made this one of the very best restaurants in our area. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Very pleased! Excellent food ,service, atmosphere, a bit pricey but being a BYOB helped keep the total price down. Great place for special occasions. Definitely will be back!
Food was very delicious. Portions were reasonable. Didn’t leave hungry. Liked the BYOB. Service was ordinary. Host pointed to the table from across the room and said sit there. Didn’t speak to the menu at all or make recommendations. Very expensive. Dinner for two with gratuity was $140 and I brought my own alcohol. You would be going there for the food.
-Fell short of our expectations. Saw reviews where it was rated Top 100 in US and certainly didn't have that experience. Small dining room, nice ambiance, however, the service certainly wasn't anything memorable. Waiter/host wasn't attentive. Table utensils were left for next course, water was warm, had to ask for bread. Food lacked flavoring, small portions(3 small shrimp in appetizer for $18). Risotto was tasty, probably best part of the meal. Salmon was over cooked. Appears the staff shut off the AC towards the end of our meal. Did not stay for dessert.
Fantastic place to eat, staff and food never disappoint
Absolutely lovely high quality dining. Food was of a very high calibre cooked to perfection, with a wonderful menu
Met our friends here for dinner. The food was outstanding, service excellent. The chef and owner, Mr. Russo, made a point of introducing himself and welcoming us to his restaurant. My friend has allergies, and Mr. Russo chatted with her to make certain that the food was prepared properly for her. All in all an excellent restaurant. The only negative was that the second seating was coming in at 7:30 and we had to leave.
A bottle of a nice Barbera from that place round the corner to accompany the courses that Allan prepared this evening made for another outstanding dining experience.
Always a local favorite. Food is delicious and the total bill is reasonable since it is BYOB. Missed seeing the owner Alan on this visit, but the staff did a fine job.
Great service, personal and efficient. Food was excellent throughout, entree portions were on the large side
Great food! Outstanding service, very intimate.
Love this restaurant. Friendly people, delicious food, innovative
Best Italian restaurant in NJ! Hands down. VIP treatment and the food was amazing.
Consistently excellently prepared food and excellent service . Never disappointed. The owner and staff are extremely attentive to guests' needs. Always a positive experience. Reservations a must.
We always enjoy the great food and wonderful service.
Outstanding ! Upon our arrival we felt very welcome and enjoyed a delicious meal . The entire evening was delightful and we feel like we found a new favorite
My husband and I dined at Sette last Saturday evening.
This is a small, intimate BYOB restaurant that serves excellent food from various regions of Italy.. It is a true gem that should not be missed!!
Everything was delicious. We were offered Bruchetta while we were waiting, it was a surprise when we were charged. It was delicious, but it was offered not ordered
Perfectly prepared and presented, served in an intimate, tasteful atmosphere
We had dinner with friends, and as usual the service and food was excellent. We all had smoked Norwegian salmon as an appetizer, and it was delicious, served with thin sliced onions and capers. Some of us had the haddock entree. It was simply extraordinary, perfectly cooked, moist and light in texture. For those interested in fresh fish, cooked to perfection, Sette is the place to go. Others had the lamb ragu pasta, which is also very special. All in all, a wonderful experience.
Outstanding; both courses, the Trofie al Sugo d'Agnello and the Costata al Forno, were prepared to perfection. Allan was away this evening; nonetheless, his team gave me a wonderful dinning experience.
Four of us had a terrific meal. Enjoyed every bite. Excellent appetizers, second plates and main courses. Remember it is BYO wine . Recommend without reservation.
Sette is a wonderful experience. The attention to detail in both cuisine and service make Sette a treat. Can't wait to go again.
Perfect. We shared a delightful ricotta gnocchi appetizer. The lamb ragu trofie was excellent, and the poached sea bass was perfect. We finished with a freshly prepared profiterol, simply outstanding. And, the service, as always, was very professional.
Disappointed that neither the gnocchi nor burrata cheese appetizers were on the menu.
Food and service were excellent, as always.
Patrons should be advised that the bruschetta is not complimentary.
This is a great little Italian place. Small, simple decor, straight forward food, wonderful guys running the place. Always makes me feel like I am back in Milan.
Absolutely amazing food and service! It was a great experience with the chef introducing himself and explaining the dishes in detail. I will definitely be returning.
Sette never disappoints! The service is friendly and professional and the food is always original and outstanding.
Top notch all around. Best Italian in Morris County and that's saying a lot. Food and service were excellent. We get there at 6 pm and were the first table seated. By 7 pm all 8 tables were filled and it was very noisy despite the menus request to speak quietly. Our first time at Sette and we'll be back soon.
Best food in the area. Always delicious!
I haven't been here since October and was looking forward to a fabulous meal. Allan did a wonderful combination of courses for the red Graves that I brought. Every time, he pairs the food and wine brilliantly!
Always wonderful. That’s all!
Once again, excellent dinner and environment. Alan and his team do a great job and go out of their way to make it a fantastic experience. Food excellent, and they go out of their way to make it a great night.
Meals were delicious and well presented. Excellent attentive service.
Great food and service. Alan has added a real top notch restaurant to the Bernardsville area.
The food is fantastic and very creative. The only request I would make is include some kind of chocolate in your desert menu. Considering where the Chef studied you would think chocolate would be a given on the menu. Other than that I would recommend this place to anyone.
Very good to excellent overall. Delicious food and prompt service in a small but delightful dining room.
