Sette Ratings and Reviews
The food was outstanding. We dine in NYC when going to the the theater and Sette would be in the company of the best of NYC. The restaurant is small and very intimate and it was so nice to enjoy a great meal in a quiet atmosphere. The owner greeted us and instantly made us feel special. I cannot wait to return to Sette.
Nice neighborhood BYOB. Small restaurant with about 8 tables. The focus is fresh good food. My husband had like an antipasto platter of meats and cheeses. Very good. I had the smoked prosciutto with arugula special that was great. My husband loved the orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. It was great. I had the sausage risotto that was just ok. Not much flavor. Desserts were ok but nothing to rave about. We will go back for sure.
Everything about Sette was terrific. From the warm and gracious welcome to the helpful and courteous waiters to the candle on the dessert for my birthday, the service could not have been better. The food was divine: for appetizers we had a special ravioli and a white bean soup with shrimp. Dinner was filet mignon cooked to perfection and red snapper that melted in my mouth. Dessert was profiteroles and a lemon pastry that was so light and refreshing! Bringing your own wine is an added bonus. Highly, highly recommended.
If you either live in/around the Somerset Hills in New Jersey, or plan a trip this way, you must have dinner at Sette. This restaurant is both elegant and as comforting as mom's kitchen (if your mom is Italian).
We simply love Sette. Everything about this restaurant is exceptional, the staff, ambience and the certainly the food.
My only regret is that my Italian is so rusty I'm embarrassed to express how happy I am when dining at Sette to the staff in Italian. However, if you're inclined for a bit of dialect from Napoli...mangiare e fatta grosso.
A small and precious gem. Italian hospitality and authenticity. A brilliant, unique, original well rounded menu. Love ‘bufala e speck’, ‘orecchiette baresi’ and ‘costata di manzo’. A little detail that speaks volumes...no spelling errors in the full Italian rendition of SETTE’s menu. Not an insignificant one when considering those present in supposedly renown restaurants.
If you haven't been to Sette yet, you must add this wonderful restaurant to your list. The dining room is small, so plan ahead.
Sette is one of the most authentic Italian restaurants you will find. Only the finest ingredients, an incredible menu, and a warm and welcoming staff.
We started with Smoked Italian Prosciutto on a bed of fresh arugula. The prosciutto melted in your mouth and the vinaigrette was light and flavorful. And, a beautiful arugula fritter with a lovely cheese and butter.
The main course consisted of Tagliatelle Bolognese. Beautiful pasta and in rich ragu. Perfect! We also had a special braciola of beef. It melted in your mouth, was beautifully prepared, subtle, delicious with a wonderful tomato sauce.
We finished our meal with a millefoglie with a beautiful cream. It was unbelievably delicious, freshly made (pastry warm, cream just right) and while I was rather satisfied, I had to finish this wonderful dessert. We also had profiteroles with a delicate cream filling and a delicious chocolate/berry warm sauce...I'm salivating just writhing this review.
An expresso and cappuccino and we called it a night.
Remember to bring wine, but if you don't there's a wine shop within walking distance.
Delicious dining experience in downtown Bernardsville! Started with a cocktail at the Bernards Inn and followed with dinner at Sette! Perfect location - excellent service - and fantastic food completed our celebration! Highly recomment the gnocchi and sea bass!
