Franco Filippone, owner and Chef of Sette Bello Ristorante, started his career in the restaurant business at the side of his father, after the family emigrated from Palermo, Sicily to open their now historic restaurant in upstate New York. After a long apprenticeship in the family restaurant, Franco relocated to Fort Lauderdale, where he applied his culinary skills at such world class restaurants as The Addison in Boca Raton, Cafe D’ Angelo and the much lauded Casa d’ Angelo in Fort Lauderdale. Now he brings all his many cooking talents to his charming new restaurant, delivering new twists on classic Italian dishes.

Our dinner was great but we had one problem. One of the guests had just completed chemotherapy and was wearing a cap to cover baldness. The restaurant informed us it was policy that no hats are allowed. Even when informed of the cancer the guest had to remove hat. Exception should have been made

Had good experiences in the past. One of my favorite Italian restaurants, until now. Zuppa do Pece. And Shrimp with Papapadelle. Got sick. Not sure same chef or owners. A shame.

I love this restaurant! I've been here several times over the years with my husband or with friends. It's consistently delicious! Always a great list of "specials". Upscale Italian cuisine, good wine list, nice ambiance, and fair prices for the quality! This visit I tried the grilled asparagus salad and it was outstanding! Had the grilled shrimp special with pappardelle, mushrooms, spinach & truffle oil... Yum! Go there... you won't be disappointed.

The food was amazing! I think this is the best Italian food that I’ve had in south Florida . The server was very knowledgeable about the daily menu as well. Can’t wait to go back

Our server did not introduce himself. He would come to the table and then disappear for extended periods. The calamari appetizer tasted frozen. The Caesar salad was too lightly dressed and when we ask for more dressing it was an unappetizing clotted consistency. The best part about the meal was the fra Diablo shrimp. For two people, we ordered one appetizer, one salad, one entree, one dessert, and one glass of wine. The bill came to more than it would have if we had only ordered only two entrees. And yet, we were still charged a sharing/service charge. We had to dispute it with the owner.

I’ve lived in Lauderdale for 20 years and Sette Bello has the best food and is correctly priced for the great quality and quantity of food.

It is possible to have a private conversation without raising your voice and yet it is a friendly ambience, not stuffy.

The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

Personally the only drawback is they do not have a full bar (beer and wine only).

If you’ve never been I highly recommend you go n
