Franco Filippone, owner and Chef of Sette Bello Ristorante, started his career in the restaurant business at the side of his father, after the family emigrated from Palermo, Sicily to open their now historic restaurant in upstate New York. After a long apprenticeship in the family restaurant, Franco relocated to Fort Lauderdale, where he applied his culinary skills at such world class restaurants as The Addison in Boca Raton, Cafe D’ Angelo and the much lauded Casa d’ Angelo in Fort Lauderdale. Now he brings all his many cooking talents to his charming new restaurant, delivering new twists on classic Italian dishes.

This restaurant celebrated their 9th Anniversary the evening we were there. It is a fabulous restaurant. I enjoyed truffles, which is such a wonderful treat. This restaurant NEVER disappoints. Great food! Great service! Consistent!! Chef Franco is a fantastic Chef and lovely gentleman. Courtney continues to be our favorite waitress. She makes our experience PERFECT every time! We highly recommend Sette Bello!
We had yet another wonderful dinner. Thank you to Joe Cadillac and our gracious waitress Courtney. We had family visiting from NJ and they we very impressed with everything. I wish we had more time to enjoy dessert but we had to run. Next time we will plan better. Thank you all.
This is our 3rd time back and I’m happy to say that everything was consistently on point. It was nice to have Courtney again as our server ( I can’t say enough about her professionalism). I had the special of cut shrimp with porcini mushrooms and truffle oil over parppadella pasta again and again it was simply exquisite. We also had the Chicken Pizziola. The chicken was melt in your mouth tender and the portion was more than enough. I ended the meal with an espresso a must have ending to a truly Italian meal.
Reservation was made with the notice it was for a birthday. Server was so out of touch turned into a terrible evening. Setto offered nothing to help make it a special evening. Next day was at a breakfast place and later at a happy hour place. Both made a happy event happen for another customer. As a regular customer of Setto belo very sad
1st time. Asparagus app. was very good. I had veal marsala, my wife, chicken marsala. Both dishes very good. Just not great. The marsala sauce was very thin/watery, no body. I had a side of angel hair & pomodoro. Also good, just not great.
Will be going back another time to try other things.
I LOVE this restaurant. Feels like home when greeted by Joe Cadillac. And served by the wonderful waitress, Jessica. Food is outstanding and the kitchen could not have been run better. Never had pasta served at such a hot temperature. Serves only wine and beer but the wine list is very good. (Kind of missed a pre dinner martini.). Fantastic pastas and veal dishes. Yummy asparagus salad and grilled octopus!!
This was our first time at settebello and it was an amazing experience. The food was phenomenal as well as Reza or waiter. I truly appreciated that Chef Franco took the time out to come to our table and speak with us. And the icing on the cake was there wonderful maitre d Joe. Thank you Joe for bringing back some very good memories for me. We will be back.
Stunning food. Stunning service. Perfection in all ways. Always. The service is so polished and so is the food. Tons of specials every night and the staff is more than happy to guide you through the menu. Different sauce with that pasta.."no problem at all". Why can't more restaurants deliver a superior product like this?
I love going to Sette Bello, whether just with my husband or with family and friends. The food was particularly fabulous Friday night, the service was fantastic and it's quiet so that you can actually have a conversation. I would highly recommend this gem to anyone!
WOW! An authentic Italian sleeper. Sette Bello is now on our list of go-to restaurants for a great night out. Had the veal chop (best I've ever had, and I'm 70, including NYC and Italy) after thoroughly enjoying the meatball / eggplant appetizer. Wife had calamari steak appetizer and loved it. Side was a medley of roasted fingerling potatoes, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. This is the first time I've not pawned Brussels spouts off on my wife, that's how tasty they were.
If you like really great ingredients selected, cooked and served to perfection, Sette Bello will not disappoint. FWIW, this is the first time I've ever felt inclined to review a restaurant on-line, but this establishment deserves recognition.
The food was very good as it is with one exception . My brother ordered Brussel Sprouts which were supposed to be blackened. When they came they were burned beyond anything considered edible.
When we told our server, the chefs told her this is the way they're fixed. In this case the chef burning vegetables to a crisp is right and the customer is wrong.
I'll give this restaurant another try as long as they don't burn the vegetables again. For these prices the vegetables should be cooked not charred to a crisp. It was disappointing
Dinner was very good but we happened to use a Groupon and they failed to tell us the tip was included. So when we noticed that we accidentally tipped twice we corrected the situation but not before the waiter made a snarky remark about us being cheap for not allowing him to keep the double tip. Not nice!
Jessica our server was spectacular- From the moment we arrived, to her telling of the specials to her constant attention to water /wine levels in glasses- She is perhaps one of the best servers I've ever had in a restaurant....ever!. While it's rare in South Florida the food and service were both excellent. I loved every second. There were five of us at dinner. Pastas were all off the chain good and each and every dish was perfectly crafted. Our only negative was I thought wine prices were a bit high. Otherwise it was a flawless evening!
