The outstanding wine list and knowledgeable staff ensures a perfect wine pairing for any meal, palate, or budget.
With its beautiful dining room, spacious private dining space, relaxed lounge and full bar, Serratto has the perfect table for you!
We have been dining at Serratto since they opened. It was always a a friendly, neighborhood restaurant that also happened to serve very good food. When we went in to eat this past weekend we had a totally different experience. We were seated promptly, but roughly only half the tables were occupied. It took our waited ~20 minutes to "find" us and come to the table.
We brought an expensive bottle of wine and asked the waiter to open it. This has never been a problem, especially with a posted corkage fee. The waiter then began to splash our wine across the table hitting all 4 diners in the process. He used his hand to wipe the lip of the bottle after each pour and then wiped his hand on his slacks. He disappeared for another 15 minutes.
He to asked if we wanted appetizers. Mind you, we had been seated for over 35 minutes by now with nothing but a glass of wine. We declined and said we would like to order. He muttered something under his breath and then said he was ready to take our orders.
Dinner did not arrive for 30 minutes. These were standard pasta dishes that don't take all that long to cook...we know since we've ordered them before. Dinner was placed on the table with everyone getting the wrong order and the wait staff walking away.
The waiter came back a few minutes later and grabbed the wine btl which was by now clearly empty and was going to pour sediment in someone's glass. I explicitly told him it was finished and to leave it...he dumped the bottom dregs in a friends glass...followed with a snarky comment of "I guess you were right".
Frustrated with that, he then went about pouring, but actually like swishing more water in our water glasses managing only to get 2 people wet this time. He continued to mutter under his breath. We declined desert which led him to begin uttering again, "Of course not.."
I will never eat here again if this individual is left to wait on our party.
Food was great, server was friendly. We could not ask for more.
Food was delicious and beautifully presented. No one in our group was disappointed. Our waitress was extremely attentive, had a great sense of humor but at same time she was very professional.
Had 6:15 reservation and were seated within 2 minutes. Our server showed up right away and asked about drinks. We asked her to give us a few minutes to look at the wine menu. She returned in a few minutes and the drinks showed up shortly. We did hold off ordering food for a short period as we with friends we had not seen in a long time. She did nor pressure us to order
and when we did we received a wonderful meal. The young lady who served us was a wonderful and attentive server. This was our second time at your restaurant and it won't be the last.
Attentive service. Kind and responsive staff. Nicely cooked pasta. My wine choice was perfect.
I loved everything except the attitude of the first woman who served me the first course. She seemed angry that I was even there. All others were wonderful.
Second time we came here while visiting Portland and it was delicious!
As always, a very good experience. There is one evening waiter (tony?) who has a really bad attitude but other than him, the staff is very accommodating and the food dependable.
We were pretty disappointed on Saturday evening. The portions are small and I could not locate any eggplant in my tagine. We booked online and indicated that we were celebrating an anniversary and two birthdays. Tony did not do one extra thing for us other than acknowledge and congratulate once we told him. Why did we bother?
You could offer more vegetarian options and make us happy.
Absolutely delightful experience as always. Food was scrumptious, service was stellar!
Tabitha was so amazing and the entire crew we're kind and accommodating of my silly romantic notions. The food was AMAZING. scallops and frisee salad are a must eat.
Draper Chicken Over cooked
This was our first visit during Portland dining month. We came with a small group of friends and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent, especially the pork cheeks. Great service and ambiance. We will definitely be returning!
Have been wanting to try them for awhile. The food choices were diverse and very good. Price and value for selections were great. A great place for a nice dinner out with your wife or date. I'll be back.
Great food, friendly and hospitable service, excellent ambiance.
Great food, great service. Loved the Pork Cheeks.
Great staff, great food, great night.
Hadn't been to Serratto in a while and so glad we went back. Had a really delicious meal during Portland Dining Month, and everything was excellent: soup, salad, pasta, and bread pudding for dessert (with a candle to celebrate my husband's birthday). Will not wait so long to go back again.
excellent menu and quality of food and wine. Price fix menu is nice as well. Seafood entrees are especially fresh with local ingredients. High recommend. Love the bread too. And the pizzas are note worthy too!
Went for Portland Dining Month. Dinner was wonderful as always!
Always my go to when in town.
We opted to participate in dining month and the server seemed less than thrilled by this. The temperature of the soup was just warmer than tepid, as if there was a slight attempt to warm it up prior to serving and then it sat for fifteen minutes. The food took a long time to arrive, which I am normally okay with, but the food also tasted like it sat for quite a while.
Need more server on the floor lunch
Perfect place and food for dinner and conversation with my brother and his wife.
Dinner was delicious especially pork cheeks. We were in a hurry since we had only one hour before we had to leave to make a play. Our waitress was nice but was not very engaged with keeping our dining on track so we could make the start time. We had to ask repeatedly for our check and had to leave before our desert was served. Overall I would highly recommend the food.
Food was great. Went for Portland Dining month and had the Pork Cheeks. Very tender and flavorful. Dessert was bread pudding, which is not my favorite, but it tasted good. Nice wine and great service.
Choose carefully , bread is great...
Great entree options and delightful server.
One of our most favorite Portland restaurants. The occasion was our periodic dinner out with good friends. The space is very "European Country," and very charming. The cocktails and food are always great and if you are lucky enough to have Christi as your server—your evening will be perfect.
We came here for the first time because of dining month - wanted to see what it was like.
The food was good - pork cheeks definitely better choice than the pasta - but not singular.
The service was terrific - our waitress was outstanding but the food left us wanting.
This is a gem. Wine, cuisine, service were all great. We had no problem having a conversation through the background chatter. The menu options had numerous things that sounded good and make me want to go back.
Great food and wonderful service! Nice place to have a dinner.
My boyfriend and I went to Serratto to celebrate our three year anniversary. First off, our waiter (I don't remember his name) was great! He took care of us from the moment we walked in, until we left the restaurant. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menus. We started out with a couple drinks- I had a margarita on the rocks and he had the Commonwealth. Both drinks were strong, but not too strong. They were the perfect concoctions! Then, we ordered calamari as a starter and it was excellent. The lemon sauce was great. We both ordered the rigatoni for our entrees and that was amazing! Oh, and you can't forget about the fresh bread and with sea salt and olive oil, while you're waiting for your main dish! We will definitely be back!
I have gone on two blind dates, in one week at Serratto. Not only is the food and ambiance wonderful, but they are very attentive. Frequently coming by your table to check on you. It was also very easy to get a waiters attention, who was not our waiter, when we needed something. If you value good, attentive customer service, when you dine, this is the place to go.
One of my favorites. Great for a nice lunch with friends, family, or business. Food is very good and prices are very reasonable. A nice ambience. A neighborhood favorite.
We enjoyed our belated Valenrine’s Day date very much. If you dine here make the effort to request Tabitha as your server. She was warm, genuine and knowledgeable. When you have a professional like Tabitha taking care of you, you can relax and enjoy your evening knowing that you’ve spent your time (and money) right. Our service was on-point and seamless.
We held reservations for a few weeks yet were seated at a balcony table that felt more like overflow outside of a couple rooms that accommodated large groups. Our server was very attentive until the large parties arrived and then unfortunately she became to busy to check back with us. No busser help either. Eventually a hostess/manager cleared our table and finished us up. Not at all a great ending
Don’t celebrate birthdays. Food was great and fabulous flavor. Service was slow.
My wife and I had wonderful time. The ambiance was great as was the service. It is located in a very nice and lively part of Portland. I recommend it.
Food was very good and service was excellent! A great place for a nice dinner in Portland.
