The outstanding wine list and knowledgeable staff ensures a perfect wine pairing for any meal, palate, or budget.
With its beautiful dining room, spacious private dining space, relaxed lounge and full bar, Serratto has the perfect table for you!
Overall a great experience and one of my favorite places to eat with friends and family. The food was a bit overly salted on this particular visit, but will definitely be back.
We love Serratto. Whether it’s for delicious pasta; perfectly cooked fish, or as on this cold night delicious burgers. Serratto’s service has always been a hallmark of this restaurant. This is true wherther I’m with a large party or dining solo. Unfortunately, this last visit was an exception.
It was a misfire from the time we were seated. We had a 7:15 reservation. The restaurant was fairly full both in the bar and the dining area. There were several large parties so we attributed this to the inconsistent timing of seating, drinks, menus and finally taking our order.
Salads came out quickly but entrees took awhile. Once we were finally served, very soon after the server began asking if we were done; did we want a to go box, and could she clear our plates. The first pass occurred when I had over half of my hamburger on my plate and was clearly still eating, I ordered another glass of wine so clearly I wasn’t planning on being done right away. The server kept coming over and we kept saying we were still eating. Then she started reaching across the table to clear anything we didn’t appear to be using. One of our guests had to literally grab back her wine glass.
Yes, the restaurant was clearing out but we were no where close to the last customers. Perhaps we were this servers’ last table. And it wasn’t as if we were lingering. It was 8:45 when we got in the car.
Will we be back? Yes—because we are assuming that this lack of service was an anomaly. But it did make this particularly visit less enjoyable.
This was a memorable dinner date for my wife and I. All courses of our dinner were excellent from the French onion soup and beet salad to our entrees (scallops and clams & spaghetti). The pace of the service was perfect, nothing rushed nor delayed so that you wonder where your food is. Meghan, our waitress was very helpful without being unobtrusive. Most of all Meghan was cheerful and seemed to really enjoy what she was doing and this added to our enjoyment of the evening.
service and atmosphere were great... and food also outstanding
had a very light crusted Black cod!!!
Great food even better service.
Good food. Good service. Nice atmosphere. Can always rely on all of that
It was solid. Can’t go wrong kinda place. Staff was super nice. Food came out timely and tasted great
Went on a date for New Years, and it was perfect. The staff were all incredibly friendly and festive. The dinner specials were delicious sounding and had wine pairing suggestions with them. I had the beef tenderloin, my partner had the cornmeal cod, and both were so wonderful. Very unique flavors and high quality ingredients. The dessert was also fantastic!
Food was delicious and wait staff was friendly and professional. Sara was wonderful. Only complaint was our table. I was facing the wall and it felt claustrophobic. Delightful in every other way. Next time we will ask to be seated elsewhere.
This had to of been one of my wife and I’s best experience at a restaurant in Portland. We are self declared foodies and this place is now top of our list. The food, the ambiance, and the service were all sublime. We had the lobster risotto, tuna tartare, and beet salad and all of the dishes were divine. The service was by far the best we could have asked for. Highly recommend Serratto!
Great service and excellent food, my favorite Italian restaurant in Portland
Once again, Serratto was outstanding.
From the moment we walked in the door until we left, service was excellent.
The rigatoni was fantastic as was the risotto.
Serratto is consistently excellent.
We have always loved Serratto. We’ve enjoyed dining there many times on special occasions. This time, on Christmas Eve, we came with two friends. The service was stellar but the food was mediocre. My lamb chops were over done. And then apparently we went to the end of the evening time so they turned on all the lights in the ambience became less.I’m very sorry to give a lukewarm re-view for this year.
I was a bit worried when we were seated in the very far corner of the room on Christmas Eve. The waiter was great and made up for it. Food was fabulous except the caesar salad was not upon to the par of the rest of our meals. We'll come back as we want to eat at the bar. Thanks.
Food was great, service excellent. Noise level was almost unbearable due to a large cocktail hour upstairs. We will always request the front room in the future.
We were seated promptly even though we were 10 minutes early. We were greeted by our server soon after and were able to order soup & salad before we ordered our main courses. The bottle of wine we brought was opened at our request and we had a throughly enjoyable evening. The pace of food and attention to detail was perfect as was the food! We enjoyed desert and did not feel rushed (the place was packed including a large group upstairs). We highly recommend this place for any occasion.
Everything we had was delicious - Rigatoni, Scallops and the Duck was exceptional. The service was terrific, professional and engaging. It was a memorable experience.
Serratto has long been a favorite of mine and now that I no longer live in PDX, I make a point of eating here with friends when I am back in town.
The food as usual was phenomenal, however the server we had was terrible. There were 4 of us and we ordered 2 appetizers to go with a bottle of Sparkling wine but only one showed up. When we inquired the guy looked at his notes and said, “oh, guess I forgot to order it”. He did offer to put the order in but by that time the pairing wine was almost gone and our salads were being delivered.
When he opened the wine we ordered he touched the top of the bottle, and didn’t offer the cork to us. When we asked about the cork he said he could bring “a” cork to us, which of course was not the issue.
Dining at a nice restaurant is not just about the food, it is also about the service. Serratto needs to step up the service to get my or my friends business in the future.
Our family of four (two teens) came here on a busy Friday after walking through downtown to enjoy the Christmas trees/people. We come here often (just as a couple, as a family, or as a family with my mother.) The food (sophisticated, yet accessible, locally sourced ingredients) never fails to disappoint. I had the pork cheeks, wife had black cod, kids had pasta dishes. Starter of crab cakes, calamari. I also very much enjoyed the authentic (house made beef broth, real Gruyere roasted cheese) French Onion soup! (We recognized the) server (who) had been here for years and was very knowledgeable and happy gentleman (even though the restaurant was packed full with Christmas revelers/parties)
I have previously recommended this favorite Italian spot of mine..The food is exceptional, reasonably priced and the service is some of the best of Portland.
Everything was wonderful. It was a little noisy. I think it was just the table next to us. After they left we were good.
It is holiday time so the place was much more crowed and loud than usual. But the Caesar salad was as good as usual. The server forgot to bring my doggie bag and I forgot to ask before leaving. I'll return just not during a busy holiday season.
Serratto has been a favorite of ours for quite sometime. It is consistent in all areas - food, service, ambiance, noise level - and as great as the food is, we also really like the bread; it's an outstanding ciabatta and they serve it with an excellent olive oil. Serratto also has a great bar where they not only serve an the usual array of drinks, but also a variety of new concoctions. You also have the option of dining at the bar. All-in-all, a Portland staple.
Delicious food. Nice location. Tight service. Was not expecting (or wanting) an Olive Garden sized portion of pasta, but was underwhelmed by serving size I was presented with. Maybe 8 pieces of pasta plated. It was, however, perfectly prepared. As an out of towner I would consider returning, but it would not be a lock.
We've enjoyed Serrato several times, with friends or on our own. We continue to find the service very responsive, friendly, and efficient. House wines are above average for the price point. Our spaghetti with clams had a generous portion of small clams; our caesar salad had the right degree of tang and a high quality Parmesan. We were not as thrilled by the onion soup, which tasted somehow burned, and it didn't seem to be the crouton; it may be personal preference, but it was not to my taste.
We wish there were a broader range of vegetarian dishes - it seems that there are more options at happy hour than for dinner.
Have been here several times and always like the food and service. This time, service was nowhere near as polished as we were used to. Most of the people we interacted with seemed very green in their roles, which made them sort of tentative and awkward. The server mostly taking care of us, 'Harlen' according to the receipt, was, to put it politely, nonchalant (others might say 'curt' or 'unpleasant'), and gave me the feeling that I was invisible or in the way. The pasta dishes were quite good. The calamari were overdone and approaching rubberiness, and served without lemon nor appetizer plates nor serving utensils, and were not a good way to start. Espresso was good. Music was mostly annoying and too loud, especially when it featured ancient pop hits from way back when, before it changed to something without vocals and more jazzy. Will probably return and hope people on the B team moved on and service is back up to par.
One of our favorite HH spots in Prtlandia. Although the rigatoni was a bit too salty and the halibut lacked “pop”, the overall dining experience notable. Caesar salad and house salad and dressing was splendid. Our waitress, Sarah, thoroughly enhanced our dining experience!
Always perfect—feel I’m on vacay w/ every visit. I’m devoted!
Love this place! Food and service was great!
Great food, service and ambiance. It was relaxed and delicious.
Excellent as usual. Alex runs a tight ship there. The environment is warm and friendly. The wine list is excellent and well priced. Can’t go wrong with the Pastas.
We love the ambiance and food. This is a nice place for all occasions.
Serratto is simply an amazing restaurant! Tony, our server, was kind, knowledgeable and very attentive. The risotto is fantastic, the scallops were outstanding... our compliments to the chef! We would highly recommend!!
Serratto is my favorite restaurant in Portland. The staff is friendly and we have never had a bad meal there. It is hard to find good Italian food on the West Coast, so I general have a pasta dish. The staff are friendly and accommodating; on the rare times there has been a problem, they corrected it graciously.
Food is consistently good. Serratto is our go to place for gatherings. Great staff and lovely food.
Waiters take too much time with orders and billing. We look at wrapping up in 45-1 hr, but we end up 90 mins which is tough during working day lunches.
Very nice server. Food was very good as was the wine. I have no complaints.
We came to Serratto for a rare kid-free date on a busy Sunday night. Upon our arrival our server hinted that they were very busy with extra parties and he seemed a bit stressed. Having both worked in the food industry, we of course commiserated. We ordered the soup of the day, beet salad, wine, and entrees. The starters were great and arrived in a timely manner, as did our first glass of wine. When the entrees were brought to us they were luke-warm, which was disappointing after waiting quite some time. We’d asked for the wine list again as they were delivered but did not see our server again until we were finished.
