Serpico - Philadelphia
Serving dinner only, the cuisine is ingredient-driven offering a seasonally evolving menu of playful yet familiar takes on global fare. A small hand-picked list of food-friendly wines will perfectly complement the menu and a quality cocktail program will focus on boutique spirits.
Sat at the counter over looking the kitchen. Was great watching them prep the dishes. Food was very good with interesting combinations Japanese eggplant was delicious!
We absolutely love Serpico! We come here whenever possible because everything about the restaurant is perfection. A must!
Excellent food, excellent food. Great overall experience.
Good was interesting and delicious as were the cocktails. We loved it including the server!
Wonderful to sit at the counter and watch the masterful cookpreparing amazing food and keeping the work space immaculately clean. Also watching training in process. The food was exceptional. Prices a little steep. A great place for a special occasion. My 76th birthday. Wow!
Great celebration dinner for graduation! Such a special dinner on every level - totally worth it!
sit at counter if possible
Always wonderful—our go-to place with out-of-town guests or when we just want a great meal by ourselves. The spring asparagus is awesome right now!
Menu variety impressive - all the dishes my table of 4 tried (3 appetizers and 3 main dishes and 2 desserts) were excellent. One exception was the rocky road dessert. It was good but not special, whereas the apple cake was outstanding.
The size of the dishes were good for sharing, yet we were not overly full. Also not a starchy menu which is a plus!
Loved the drink specials as well.
Have eaten here over the years- the service and ambience is first rate-the menu is inspired and inventive, at least intellectually. On this visit the flavors seem muted after the fusion-for many of our dishes we felt like something was missing and that we needed to go back to the full-ethnic experience to be satisfied.
Always a phenomenal dining experience at Serpico. Peter and his team are exceptional and well worth a trip to Philadelphia to experience. They’ve hit the mark of elegant, creative, and elevated but non-pretentious.
Girls night out - very fun! Great Pinot noir rose.
Wonderful atmosphere, service, food and drink. Crispy fried duck was one of the 10 best things I have ever eaten!
What a magical dinner we had at Serpico. We had just flown into Philadelphia and had gotten a recommendation to go there but we had no idea how special a meal this would be. We sat at the kitchen counter watching the food be prepared and between the two of us we shared 6 plates. Its tough to say but my favorite might have been the chicken and snail lasagna. Our service was excellent. All around a great night.
Exquisite creative food and super delicious
Very creative dishes with wonderful flavors that really emphasize the fresh ingredients. I sat up at the chef's counter, which I high recommend, and ordered 4 tapas sized dishes. Started with the Japanese Eggplant, and then the Steamed Egg Custard with NC Shrimp, followed by the Dry Aged Sirloin Tataki. All 3 dishes were very different, but somehow worked well together. My final dish was supposed to be the Enoki Mushrooms, but after discussing the Chicken and Snail Lasagna with the chef, he decided I had to try that as well, so he prepared me one at no charge (thank you again!). All the dishes were incredible, but I have to admit I'm very glad the chef convinced me to try the lasagna, as it was outstanding. Small wine list, but some nice, mostly European choices that really compliment the food.
Maybe the food was just too advanced for me. Very odd concoctions. I really was not at all impressed.
Everything was amazing and we had the best time. It was worth the wait!
Great food and service. Didn’t like how cooks were handling their cellphones with their barehands and then touching the food.
Excellent food and a great experience- one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia!
The service, ambiance and food was wonderful! Cannot wait to come back again!
Dining Out for Life
Our server was helpful, knew the menu, made helpful suggestions, and didn’t push. He also had a good sense of humor. The food was inventive, surprisingly subtle, and delicious. The atmosphere was fun.
The milk punch was spectacular! We had the egg custard, the eggplant, the candied duck breast, the king oyster mushrooms, and the soft shell crab special. The soft shell crab was perfect, crispy and light, and fresh. The sauce it came with was full of flavor, and reminded me of shrimp with lobster sauce in the best way. All the dishes were light yet deep in flavor.
We tried all three desserts on the menu, and pronounced them all good. Rocky road is still my favorite with a balance of textures from the rich creaminess of the frozen chocolate pudding to the light crunch of the fried candied walnuts, and even lighter and crunchier crisp meringues. The apple cake was good with its rich sweet sauce, and the final desserts l, described as a sweet play on a cheese course was balanced incredibly well, sweet, tart, creamy, crunchy, and fruity. It was the lightest of the three.
This is truly one of the top restaurants in Philly. It is the expression of a cohesive and unique vision, with top notch food, drinks, and service.
Genuinely innovative food and interesting wine. Head chef in the midst of everything. Great atmosphere. Only slight downside was some dishes could use a little more seasoning to become truly memorable. Overall, worth a visit for an enjoyable evening out
every dish was a home run. excellent service.
I really enjoyed some unique preparations of food. The service was great, friendly and knowledgable. I sat in a booth, will go to the “bar” area and watch the chefs.
Food was ok but I’ve had better here it was just ok not like all the other times I have been there where it’s been outstanding
This was the best dining experience we had while visiting Philadelphia---that is, in the category of creative dining.
The food was imaginative without being over the top--the soft shell crab was outstanding.
We had a great meal. Service was outstanding-thank you Michael for guiding us through the various offerings. The standout plates were the Japanese Eggplant, Enoki mushrooms, and the pan seared halibut...but the absolute stars of the evening were the large plates the candied duck breast and the venison special. I couldn’t get enough of those. The grilled turbot was very good as was the steamed egg custard. The raw diver scallops was a beautiful presentation and an interesting taste combination and worth trying. The hamachi tartare was decent especially with the apple but I have had better elsewhere. The one dud of the night was the sugar snapped peas -the smoked lamb was practically non existent in the dish..what little there was, it was delicious. Only real criticism of the night was it was very pricey for the size of the plates...it was pretty expensive - though delicious
This was one of the best meals I have had in Philadelphia. The care the chefs took with the food preparation and uniqueness was amazing. It wasn't your traditional run of the mill dinner. Very creative. The waiter was very knowledgeable and accommodating to your questions. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will return.
Amazing experience. The entire staff and menu was phenomenal, drink and food!
Wonderful . Great service. Creative, tasty, top notch food.
2 person tables are too close together. Other than that, great
Unbelievable food, top-notch service, and a wonderful atmosphere! Couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Really enjoyed my visit. Everything on the menu looked good and what I ordered was amazingly delicious. Will definitely be back!
It's as clever, whimsical, beautiful and delicious as ever. You pay the price, but it's worth it.
Great restaurant, fun setting, upbeat vibe but (surprisingly for restaurants these days) not loud, and lots of interesting menu items. We had pescatarian and vegetarian members of our party, but there were more than ample delicious options for them. I will definitely be back.
Great! It was delicious!
