Serpico is a collaboration between James Beard award-winning chef Peter Serpico and restaurateur Stephen Starr. Located on South Street, the 60-seater will have a true neighborhood feel, with cozy booths, counter seating and a small bar at which the full menu will be available.

Serving dinner only, the cuisine is ingredient-driven offering a seasonally evolving menu of playful yet familiar takes on global fare. A small hand-picked list of food-friendly wines will perfectly complement the menu and a quality cocktail program will focus on boutique spirits.

Great meal. Wine list is priced right and very diverse, small but hits all the right notes. Food is perfect for sharing, the desserts were phenomenal, get the Carrot Cake (inside a pineapple cheese cake!)

This is our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. The staff, led by Barry, is amazing. Sit at the chef's counter and enjoy the show. The menu changes often but our advice after eating at Serpico many times is trust the staff and always try the specials. Chef Serpico and his crew are simply the best.

Wow. After eating at a number of Steven Starr's restaurants, I must say this is my favorite. The Egg Custard, Chicken and Snail Lasagna, and Beef Short Rib were not only unique, but some of the most delicious and perfection cooked foods I have ever tasted. Diners should be wary of the fact that each person should have at least 2-3 different plates to not leave too hungry, which can get expensive quickly. But everything from the wine, to atmosphere, to food, was truly one of the best in all of Philadelphia.

Food here is excellent! It is kind of expensive but very worth it for a special occasion. I love it here I love sitting at the bar and watch him and make all the food, or you can always grab a great drink and have a chat with the bartender while you’re doing so. Would highly recommend.
Had an excellent dairy free dessert too!!

I hate to say this but I was overall pretty disappointed with this place. I had two fabulous cocktails and the one lamb rib dish I split with my boyfriend was really good. everything else was just disgusting, the ingredients were really off putting combinations ( raw oysters and buttermilk for instance) and I'm not a picky eater so I gave it a try but I left there hungry because I didnt eat most of the dishes. It was pretty expensive too . I'd go back for drinks but I doubt I'll go there for a meal again

Food was original and very good. Plates are on the smaller side. The Palova dessert was outstanding.

Not worth the money. Food was bland, the halibut did not taste very good. Did not like how the portion sizes were so small

We ate at the kitchen bar....phenomenal experience. Our server was wonderful, but the young woman in the desert prep area explained everything to us in great detail....she is a five star employee, plus a very pleasant person....thanks to all.

The service. The service was impeccable. We came with a friend that is vegan and the kitchen and waitstaff were so incredibly helpful with the dietary restrictions, instead of bread, they were able to offer a sort of rice wafer. The vegan plate that the kitchen put together looked amazing. On the other hand, I love meat. The duck mole for 2 was perfect, it was the best duck entree I have ever had. The mole was chocolatey and spicy, the duck was cooked just right, between medium rare and medium. Couple that with great cocktails, we had a great meal at Serpico.

Every dish was a very pleasant surprise. I eat out all over the US and Europe and my meal here was a top 10. The new menu is creative and much more appealing to me than the original menu. I could taste each of the ingredients that were listed in each dish - the flavors were exquisitely balanced with no one dominating any of the others. Another plus is the opportunity to sit at the Chef's Counter. I have sat at the "chef's counter" in other restaurants but usually had a limited view because there was a higher barrier to see over and into the kitchen. At Serpico being seated at the chef's counter means that you can see directly into the kitchen area with no obstructions, and in deed, some of the final prep on the dishes was done immediately in front our seats - view I have rarely had before. I hadn't even finished my meal when I was commenting to my husband that I couldn't wait to return!
