Serpico - Philadelphia
Serving dinner only, the cuisine is ingredient-driven offering a seasonally evolving menu of playful yet familiar takes on global fare. A small hand-picked list of food-friendly wines will perfectly complement the menu and a quality cocktail program will focus on boutique spirits.
Excellent food and a great experience- one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia!
Dining Out for Life
Our server was helpful, knew the menu, made helpful suggestions, and didn’t push. He also had a good sense of humor. The food was inventive, surprisingly subtle, and delicious. The atmosphere was fun.
The milk punch was spectacular! We had the egg custard, the eggplant, the candied duck breast, the king oyster mushrooms, and the soft shell crab special. The soft shell crab was perfect, crispy and light, and fresh. The sauce it came with was full of flavor, and reminded me of shrimp with lobster sauce in the best way. All the dishes were light yet deep in flavor.
We tried all three desserts on the menu, and pronounced them all good. Rocky road is still my favorite with a balance of textures from the rich creaminess of the frozen chocolate pudding to the light crunch of the fried candied walnuts, and even lighter and crunchier crisp meringues. The apple cake was good with its rich sweet sauce, and the final desserts l, described as a sweet play on a cheese course was balanced incredibly well, sweet, tart, creamy, crunchy, and fruity. It was the lightest of the three.
This is truly one of the top restaurants in Philly. It is the expression of a cohesive and unique vision, with top notch food, drinks, and service.
Genuinely innovative food and interesting wine. Head chef in the midst of everything. Great atmosphere. Only slight downside was some dishes could use a little more seasoning to become truly memorable. Overall, worth a visit for an enjoyable evening out
every dish was a home run. excellent service.
I really enjoyed some unique preparations of food. The service was great, friendly and knowledgable. I sat in a booth, will go to the “bar” area and watch the chefs.
Food was ok but I’ve had better here it was just ok not like all the other times I have been there where it’s been outstanding
This was the best dining experience we had while visiting Philadelphia---that is, in the category of creative dining.
The food was imaginative without being over the top--the soft shell crab was outstanding.
We had a great meal. Service was outstanding-thank you Michael for guiding us through the various offerings. The standout plates were the Japanese Eggplant, Enoki mushrooms, and the pan seared halibut...but the absolute stars of the evening were the large plates the candied duck breast and the venison special. I couldn’t get enough of those. The grilled turbot was very good as was the steamed egg custard. The raw diver scallops was a beautiful presentation and an interesting taste combination and worth trying. The hamachi tartare was decent especially with the apple but I have had better elsewhere. The one dud of the night was the sugar snapped peas -the smoked lamb was practically non existent in the dish..what little there was, it was delicious. Only real criticism of the night was it was very pricey for the size of the plates...it was pretty expensive - though delicious
This was one of the best meals I have had in Philadelphia. The care the chefs took with the food preparation and uniqueness was amazing. It wasn't your traditional run of the mill dinner. Very creative. The waiter was very knowledgeable and accommodating to your questions. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will return.
Amazing experience. The entire staff and menu was phenomenal, drink and food!
Wonderful . Great service. Creative, tasty, top notch food.
2 person tables are too close together. Other than that, great
Unbelievable food, top-notch service, and a wonderful atmosphere! Couldn’t have asked for anything more!
Really enjoyed my visit. Everything on the menu looked good and what I ordered was amazingly delicious. Will definitely be back!
It's as clever, whimsical, beautiful and delicious as ever. You pay the price, but it's worth it.
Great restaurant, fun setting, upbeat vibe but (surprisingly for restaurants these days) not loud, and lots of interesting menu items. We had pescatarian and vegetarian members of our party, but there were more than ample delicious options for them. I will definitely be back.
Great! It was delicious!
Delicious and amazing service
Top notch service, excellent food, quiet atmosphere considering fairly small.
Everything was wonderful. This restaurant keeps getting better.
Thoughtful creations. Caring staff.
Dinner with friends - really excellent service, food was delicious as were the drinks. The sharing style really added to the conversation.
Eclectic and inventive menu, great venue for sharing to try the numerous options. Informed and attentive service. A little pricey when eating the "recommended" number of plates. Very much enjoyed.
An amazing culinary experience. It was our second visit and both times have been among our favorite meals of the year!
Just amazing. Everything. Making food an art form that I get to eat!!!
Great food, friendly service. Tables smashed together and way too small. I was hit 19 times in 60 min by servers and patrons trying to squeeze by me. No one said excuse me. Dinner was rushed despite getting a nice bottle of wine.
Serpico is an absolute must-visit. We had the ceviche, deep-fried duck leg (think bao bun), and Japanese eggplant to start, then the venison and the halibut as our mains... we licked our plates after every single course. Everything was incredibly delicious and the atmosphere is trendy and fun with the open chef's counter. We highly recommend!
Service was exceptional, very knowledable staff. Menu options were very fun. Great drink selections.
Although Food Was Very Good, Not Everything Was SPECTACULAR. I Was Truly Expecting To Be Blown Away, But I Think Food Couldve Been Seasoned Better. Also The Panna Cotta Lacked In Everything Except Texture. It Was Perfectly Creamy But Needed More Flavor. Carrot Cake On Halibut Was Seared A Little Too Long, Tasted Slightly Burnt Flavor. Everything About The 45 Day Aged NY Strip Dish Was Perfection! My Expectations For This Restaurant Being Owned & Run By A James Beard Awarded Chef Was To Be Knocked Off Of My Feet, Although Impressed By Some Dishes, I Was Not Completely Awed By Every Single Dish I Tried. Would Still Reccomend This Restaurant, Especially For The Oysters, But Wont Neccesarily Run Back.
Fantastic food-service impeccable-upper end pricing
Portions are very small but taste was good
Creative beyond belief and super delicious. A memorable dining experience
The food and presentation was exquisite !!!
We enjoyed every morsel.
The food was terrific, staff were knowledgeable and fun, and it was quiet so we could actually have a conversation over dinner. Definitely recommend for fun splurge.
Very good food, very pricey and the dinning area feels cramped
Absolutely amazing food and service. One of the best restaurants in the city.
The food was amazing, second only to the service. I love it there and con not wait to go back!
