Serpico - Philadelphia
Serving dinner only, the cuisine is ingredient-driven offering a seasonally evolving menu of playful yet familiar takes on global fare. A small hand-picked list of food-friendly wines will perfectly complement the menu and a quality cocktail program will focus on boutique spirits.
Nice service, nice atmosphere but disappointing food for vegetarians. Too much use of “foam” (nut/cheese) and not enough options. Also quite mushroom heavy and could use a pasta on the menu.
The menu is well-thought out and the food is absolutely delicious. Service is impeccable!
Went to Serpico for Thanksgiving special entre which was excellent; only disappointment was an absurd and surprise corkage fee @ $30 for a single bottle which wasn't revealed at the time of seating. While I asked if there was a corkage fee for BYOB at seating, no mention of the amount was given by hostess, just that one existed. Had I known amount, probably would have purchased wine from them. When I questioned amount at time of check received a terse "our policy is $30 fee". So much for customer caring!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. It was the classics, but elevated and refined. Very reasonable and the cocktails were delish. Adam, our server, was fantastic, the manager was attentive and the vibe was fantastic and festive.
Excellent choice for Thanksgiving dinner! Counter seating doubled as table-side entertainment.
Dinner at Serpico for Thanksgiving platter. Somewhat disappointing when compared with previous Thanksgiving plate here. Turkey was sliced thick, though gravy was fine. Vegetables were tasty, but roll bland. Pecan pie dessert was less than stellar, with soggy crust. Some in our dinner group chose from the regular menu & were pleased with their meals. Service did not match the high levels to which we've become accustomed at Serpico. Still, we'll be back to try this usually- excellent restaurant again.
We came here for my girlfriend’s birthday, we were blown away by how good the food was! Everything was made to share, the flavor was beyond there and everything came out very quickly.
Haven't been to Serpico in two years, but it was as excellent as I remembered. Smart but original food and flavor combinations. Wait staff who k ow the menu and were able to point me to gluten free options. We shared 8 plates between 3 of us and then one desert and it was just the right amount of food. Highly recommend it.
The plates are very fun n delicious. He takes his style and uses different fare to put his spin on it. In your face flavor.
Excellent all the way around. In love with the duck on roll. Rocky road dessert is incredible. My peektoe crab dish was delicious.
Delicious food, cocktail and wine, helpful staff. A little too tight re: seating, which heightened the noise level. Very lovely place.
Probably the best and most innovative restaurants in our City .Exceedingly consistent. The key is the dedication of Peter Serpico to all the details and always being there and in the trenches with his staff. He is cooking and supervises and is just not there for token sake .Very few chefs of his quality have this dedication.
Noise level is very high but food is unusual and incredibly good.
Amazing cocktails and food!
Incredible. Great food, service, and atmosphere.
We had high hopes for this place since it received a 3 bell review. Our waitress acted offended when I told her we had theater tickets for 7PM. Our table was at 5PM. She then criticized my friend for not ordering enough food and frowned on all of us for not opting to share. My starter was ok. The lamb entree was outstanding.
Our 3rd time to Serpico, but first time on a Saturday night -- much more crowded and livelier than we're used to. The food was artfully prepared and very good; portion sizes small. When they say at least 1 dish per column on the menu (3 columns) per diner, it's a fair recommendation. Cocktails are great. Bottles of wine? Not sure. We had the cheapest bottle -- a Negroamaro at $58-- that we regretted (quite thin).
Outstanding, interesting food and great service. One of the best meals we've had in years.
Phenomenal experience in every aspect. highly recommend sitting at the chef's counter for a more immersive experience.
We have been twice now, wanna make it three! Delicious and wonderful!
The cocktails, white truffle honey butter, and scallops were highlights
Definitely worth the trip into the city. Amazing food and fantastic service. Definitely an experience to remember
Amazing food and experience
What a great dining experience- creative menu, awesome service and unassumingly warm and welcoming. The only disappointment was that we ate too much so had to skip dessert. What a shame!
presentation was excellent, food was wonderful
Our server, Zach, explained the menu very well as well as the wine and beer
It was our 8th wedding anniversary...
The expectations are always high when we go to Serpico and they exceed in presenting us with new tastes and textures. Always comfortable and knowledgeable service that can lead you through the menu seamlessly.
This is the third visit and we felt the the overall quality of the food had definitely declined, For example, the lamb was underdone and very chewy and the bass was tasteless.
Extraordinary food. The beet salad is a fresh sophisticated version. Great ceviche.
The donuts and fish dip were notable; the soup was, too. Roasted beet was, too. The halibut with a carrot cake cap was not, IMHO; the sweet carrot, although pretty tasty, contributes nothing to the fish but novelty (sorry, Craig LaBan). A potato crust, although not novel, would make a better dish. Desserts were smashing. Service was as thoughtful as usual--probably more than I've ever encountered anywhere.
We had a fantastic meal and great service. Highlights included the raw diver scallops in buttermilk, the ceviche, and the deep fried duck leg on a potato roll. We also really enjoyed the lamb on the favs bean “risotto”. Everything was well executed and the service was spot on. Can’t wait to return.
Wow. What a meal! Our favorite dining experience in Philly. Started with the raw scallops and the Ora King salmon. They were so fresh and flavorful. Next we had the enoki mushrooms - the broth was incredible and the texture of the mushrooms akin to pasta. Then the Chicken and snail lasagna - to die for. 3rd course, we had the crispy pork belly (which my husband loved - it was a bit rich for me) and the fried duck leg - one of my favorite dishes ever. For desert we had the squash panna cotta. So crazy good. Just a delight all the way around - inventive and incredibly good.
We had an amazing dinner! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and surprised us with our cocktails. We enjoyed watching the chefs prepared the food. We'll definitely be back!
Always so wonderful! Service, on point. Food, delicious and stunningly presented. Can’t wait to go back!
Perfect son perfect
First visit to Serpico. Asked waiter for recommendations that the restaurant is noted for. We selected four choices and they were all excellent. My wife and I look forward to our next visit to sample other dishes.
The service is always amazing, but the food is simply the best in town. Prepared with care and love the team does an amazing job at executing excellence
Love the innovative options items that Serpico adds to the menu on a seasonal basis. Also happy to see the Chicken and Snail Lasagne back on the menu!
Outstanding restaurant in Philadelphia. My best during my stay where I have tried 4 different upper level ones. The service was impeccable, the quality, presentation and diversity of the plates were superior. I strongly recommend for the foodie in you. Cocktails also were great!
