Serafina Ratings and Reviews
I had a 630PM reservation on 11/18. Called the restaurant at 615PM and advised them that I would be late due to weather. Arrived at approximately 650PM and the lobby area was packed. The restaurant honored our reservation and we were immediately seated. We had an 8PM show to attend and asked our waiter to help expedite our order as now we had limited time due to our late arrival. The service was spectacular!!! Food even better!!! We realized we left our tickets in our car at the parking garage. Rather than walk back in the rain, the manager had us send our email pdfs to Serafina's email, and they printed the tickets on our behalf as the theater was not accepting e-tickets. The Serafina team did above and beyond what they had to in order to ensure we had a great dining experience. Looking forward to future visits!!! Thank you once again.
We always come to Serafina when we are in NYC. This time, we told our waiter that we were in a bit of a hurry because we had a show to get to. He was so accommodating and made sure our food came out on time and that our meal was completed in time for the show. The food was amazing as always!
Was there for a friends get together where we were having a good time, but my friends chair broke and there was no one to attend immediately. Manager only gave us deserts on the house while we were expecting more. This was a disgrace, how much I like this restaurant which is right across my work, I wasn't happy about that night.
One of the 4 of us had a bad occurrence with her selection. She asked for "al dente" on her pasta dish, it arrived and it was HARD. She sent it back and it returned better, but she was still not that happy with it. Also, she said for a carbanera sauce, there was very little meat in the sauce, she was disappointed with that.
The Grill is a beautiful restaurant. The manager immediately servd us champagne for my birthday and the hostess gave us a lovely table. The hostess was excellent, friendly and charming.
Scott our server was also very nice, made us feel welcomed and refilled the bubbly.
My husbands dish of short ribs was outstanding as was our chopped salad. My salmon was served well done when I asked for medium and Scott whisked it away immediately and another was prepared, too rare but nevertheless delicious. The fries were so-so.
I was presented with a huge ball of cotton candy for my birthday and the banana cream pie we devoured. It was excellentt. Good coffee too. Highly recommend this restaurant. There also was a singer and pianist. Very nice.nk
Good location for theatre Times Square-etc. because of that a little touristy Italian but the veal milanese I had was surprisingly good. Bread fair.
They kept th sliding window open, so a bit brisk to eat guess there trying to extend summer, and outdoor seating to attract folks which i understandable
I came in for lunch yesterday with two young grandsons prior to a 2PM matinee. I had a reservation. There was a longish wait but more disturbing we were seated right next to where waiters check out and also where they stash the plates etc from the tables..so it was noisy and unpleasant. It was an active area and not at all conducive to enjoying a meal. Suggest you close down this table in order to give a less busy and quieter experience to diners.
The service was poor and seemed untrained. We had to ask for condiments and no oil or butter was offered for the bread. they didn't bring another plate or divide the dish in the kitchen as asked. when we split a dish. The bread for the bruschetta was very hard. Despite many empty tables available a family with 2 small children were seated next to us, and the children had a noisy FaceTime conversation on the phone, and then each spilled their sofas, nearly on me. I think the hostess could've done a better job of selling them or they wouldn't disturb other people will be here many times and this was the worst experience we have had. I hope it is an aberration and I will still recommend people.
This was my first experience at this restaurant. The waiter recommended the spaghetti and meatballs, so I decided to try it. Unfortunately, the dish performed below my expectations. The sauce and meatballs lacked flavor, and my noodles were lukewarm, not hot as if my dish had just been prepared. We were seated on the raised section of the restaurant, and my chair was beside the stairs, which made me uncomfortable and they said we couldn't switch tables as a party of two. More than once a waiter rushed by and audibly bumped by chair, enough so that it moved a couple of inches and I had to grab the table. I never received an apology and the movements made me even more uncomfortable that close to the stairs. I went on a Saturday night around 6pm and they were pretty busy. I'm sure they felt overworked during a busy shift, but an apology would've been nice. My waiter seemed to rush us throughout the meal, asking to take our orders right when we were seated, tried to clear the table when my plate was still full, never provided drink refills, and didn't offer us a dessert menu. Overall, my first experience was tainted and I do not plan on returning to this establishment. I wish them luck and hope this will help them serve their customers better in the future.
We didn't think we'd need a reservation when we arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday, but by 6:30 the place was packed, and bustling. I had a marhgerita pizza which I thought was average. My wife had cheese and spinach ravioli that were amazing. Fresh pasta, with a bold but not overwhelming interior, complimented by a subtle sauce with overtones of sage. Desserts were very good, but larger than we would have liked!
I had friends from my grammar school with me! We stayed at my timeshare in the Manhattan Club. I wanted someplace close by with great good.
Our table was perfect. We were a little loud, by mostly it was laughter.
The food was delicious . It was a great NY experience for those who have not been there in 40 years!
Thanks Serafina for proving us with a wonderful venue to celebrate over 50 years of friendship! I highly recommend Serafina for the food as well as the service.
