Went there for lunch and the food was great, service too but we ate outside on a breezy day, which did impact the experience. If they are going to survive the winter they have to figure out the heat lamp situation. They are up too high and only on one side of the seating. When the breeze happened you couldn’t even feel them. Not sure if they have others that stand next to the tables and they weren’t outside or if they have other options to make it warmer. Appreciate what restaurants are doing to make it through the pandemic!
Was a bit cold, food good as always but their heating setup needs a revamp.
The food was amazing and the service okay. Their outdoor section was certainly warm enough to sit through a meal, though the tables were a bit close together. They also charge a “COVID-19 fee” which they don’t tell you about ahead of time.
Everything was perfect...Thank you to everyone at Serafina!
wehad the plain sa lad, very nice. the lasagna was cheesey and good. the was cristy and light. the heaters were working we would go back
All in all a very nice experience. Service was very attentive and the food was good. They have done a very nice job with the outdoor dining.
Serafina is our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Originally made reservation for outside dining. Windy and cold, so we went inside to a sparsely occupied restaurant so we chose a table by the window easily distanced from other patrons. A bus person asked if we wanted water, I asked if they had Pelligrino, the answer was yes. A bottle of still water was brought to the table and pored. I suspect there was a language problem. No problem a fresh bottle of sparkling waster was brought to the table. I ordered the Prosciutto e Bufaline which was simply the prosciutto spread on the plate with the Burrata placed in the middle. Both even unadorned were very good. Next I ordered the Paglia E Fieno. Thwaiter asked me twice if I wanted to add chicken to the pasta. I didn't really, but he was rather insistent so I said ok. The pasta was really good. But I have never seen chicken like that.It looked like it may have been some kind of chicken loaf sliced into ½" x 2" rectangles and about 1/16" thick maybe 1 oz of parts is parts. I tasted it, it did resemble chicken. I didn't eat that, but the pasta was very good and a satisfying lunch portion. I was a little dismayed that the bill indicated an $8 charge for the "chicken". And of course the optional NYC Covid charge. I did not complain. Restaurants all over the country are suffering badly because of the pandemic. I tend to tip heavily to help out. But I think between the "chicken", the Covid thing and the tip, it was quit a bit more generous than normal. I think my experience at Serafina was unfortunate, but I also think this is not their finest moment.
MY friend and I met up for lunch on a day which was unfortunately too windy to sit outside. I give the staff credit, they seated us in a corner booth away from any other diners and assured us the kitchen staff was also wearing masks and gloves, so my friend was more comfortable. They gave us a menu that didn't have any special lunch options, unfortunately. I asked for a cup of soup and got a huge bowl which I really didn't want but they gave me no option. My goat cheese & spinach salad was very good, however. My friend's portions were also too large, and the prices reflected the sizes so our simple lunch cost us over $70 by the time we were done -- way too much! We won't come back so quickly...
Was very relaxing and the food tasted great! Clean and good service as always!
Amazing pasta, great outdoor seating and social distancing.
We were happy that Serafina had outdoor seating. The food was delicious and the wait staff very professional and attentive.
We hope to return!
Food was excellent. Staff very accommodating in finding appropriate seating. Only downside was a busboy who tried to clear the table too early. Just needs some training.
Nice outside dining all day and most wonderful chicken parm Not to be missed
Missing the brunch menu but it was still a good chill.
Outside dining not very organized. Food average but enjoyable. Service pleasant.
Lovely, attentive service. Mediocre food and drink.
Negroni was watery.
Lobster ravioli were mushy.
Chicken Milanese was overcooked to a leathery texture.
Date nite with my wife.
Good safety (Covid) precautions! Food was really good!
Serafina is always delicious. And our waiter, during these challenging times, was amazing. The whole staff was lovely.
the salad (avocado and cannoli beans) was delicious. Then we had the heart shaped lobster ravioli. we would order both again.
My best friend and I haven’t seen each other since before covid hit and we really needed some girl time so we went to Serafina for dinner. We both ordered the chicken parm special and we got a huge pizza shaped plate each. It was absolutely delicious but a lot of food. The pasta was a little undercooked but we couldn’t have eaten it anyway with the main portion of chicken. All in all a great experience. Would go again.
The food was really good- especially the steak, and the service was great!!
Always reliably good. Value for the money!
I have never had a more bizarre dining experience. We made a last minute reservation as my parents were staying at the hotel across the street and didn’t want to go far in the cold/rain. When shown to our seats I asked if there might be a quieter table as my mom has hearing problems (we were originally shown a table by the bar directly underneath a speaker). The hostess was very kind and seated us in a sort of back room where a larger party seemed to be gathering to leave. Turns out their party was just arriving. Over the course of our dinner we watched as three small children climbed the walls up to the ceiling, grabbed and ripped down part of the light fixtures, screamed, cried, knocked into our table, our chairs, all while the adults and restaurant staff looked on but said nothing. The adults in the group were equally ill mannered. One woman sat directly behind me was constantly up and down from her seat-knocking me in the back each time without apology. The waiter looked me in the eye and watched this happen repeatedly and said nothing. When they were served their meal they were essentially served by reaching over our table to the point where we ducked from plates being passed over our heads. I honestly thought I was in the twilight zone- or that we were invisible-because surely a group of civilized people could not knowingly be so rude. I was just looking for a casual place in the neighborhood to grab a quick salad and glass of wine to catch up with my parents. Unfortunately, it was a miserable time given the chaotic atmosphere and inattentive service.
It has a supreme selection of pasta and pizza selections. Great quality of food.
Bathrooms need renovation!
Wonderful service and excellent food
My husband and I wanted a restaurant where we could have a good dinner and conversation with our youngest son - a time to eat well and visit. Serafina was just perfect. The ambiance on a cold, dark night was warm and welcoming; our table had sufficient space around it so we could talk comfortably without overhearing others, but also feel part of the room; the waitperson was skilled and pleasant, informing us of offerings, giving advice on wine, but never being overbearing or intrusive (so rare!); and the food was delicious. The artichoke soup, particularly, was outstanding. We are so grateful there is still a restaurant on the planet where it is possible to eat well, but where the focus is not on rare ingredients or a star chef, but on making people happy. Thank you, Serafina!
$34 for chicken cutlet parmesan special (essentially a flattened piece of chicken with tomato sauce and bits of mozzarella) with a side of salad is crazy. It was passable, but no better than the local Italian. Great for families and good service, but the prices are getting ridiculous for the quality of the food. Wine too- $16 for a half full glass of mediocre wine ($20 a bottle at the wine shop) is just over the top. Nice place, but not on par with what can get in midtown or the UWS for the same or lower price.
I attentive service. Had to ask for every refill of water, plates to be cleared etc. Appetizers and salad came out together followed 5 minutes later by entrees after we had been sitting there 30 minutes. Tasteless Caesar salad. Chicken parmigiana was dry and inedible. Calimari was good, wine good. This place should have been better but it wasn’t
Service a little slow otherwise very nice
Great service, great food & drinks!! We were right on time for our show after!! Highly Recommend!!
Hostess seemed list, food lacked flavor and music was way too loud for my taste.
We always love it here - this time was made even better with our waiter Stefan - he was friendly, patient and fun! Food is amazing - we are from Long Island and love traveling to the City to enjoy the food and atmosphere at Serafina!
Everything we ate was absolutely fabulous! My salmon on a bed of lentils and spinach was so delicious- I ate the whole thing!!!! It was cooked to perfection and delectable. My husband’s spinach ravioli were light and and fresh. He loved them! We also had calamari & they were cooked perfectly. Fried & nicely seasoned. Yummy! The buffalo mozzarella was the only this that was a little plain. Not bad, but nothing to “write home about”.
We would gladly come back to this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable. A+
Great service for a great birthday. Food was amazing and so was the table side service.
We arrived on time and were seated immediately. The servers were polite and warm. Food came out timely and was hot and delicious. The price was reasonable and we would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We ate 3 meals (2 breakfast 1 dinner) during our stay. All were fantastic. Staff was wonderful, courteous and accommodating.
The lemon ricotta pankakes are outstanding- I will forever dream about these pancakes. The veal limone and branzino special were fabulous.
Gem of a spot.
Fabulous food, amazing waiter. And great drinks!
