The food was really good- especially the steak, and the service was great!!
Always reliably good. Value for the money!
I have never had a more bizarre dining experience. We made a last minute reservation as my parents were staying at the hotel across the street and didn’t want to go far in the cold/rain. When shown to our seats I asked if there might be a quieter table as my mom has hearing problems (we were originally shown a table by the bar directly underneath a speaker). The hostess was very kind and seated us in a sort of back room where a larger party seemed to be gathering to leave. Turns out their party was just arriving. Over the course of our dinner we watched as three small children climbed the walls up to the ceiling, grabbed and ripped down part of the light fixtures, screamed, cried, knocked into our table, our chairs, all while the adults and restaurant staff looked on but said nothing. The adults in the group were equally ill mannered. One woman sat directly behind me was constantly up and down from her seat-knocking me in the back each time without apology. The waiter looked me in the eye and watched this happen repeatedly and said nothing. When they were served their meal they were essentially served by reaching over our table to the point where we ducked from plates being passed over our heads. I honestly thought I was in the twilight zone- or that we were invisible-because surely a group of civilized people could not knowingly be so rude. I was just looking for a casual place in the neighborhood to grab a quick salad and glass of wine to catch up with my parents. Unfortunately, it was a miserable time given the chaotic atmosphere and inattentive service.
It has a supreme selection of pasta and pizza selections. Great quality of food.
Bathrooms need renovation!
Wonderful service and excellent food
My husband and I wanted a restaurant where we could have a good dinner and conversation with our youngest son - a time to eat well and visit. Serafina was just perfect. The ambiance on a cold, dark night was warm and welcoming; our table had sufficient space around it so we could talk comfortably without overhearing others, but also feel part of the room; the waitperson was skilled and pleasant, informing us of offerings, giving advice on wine, but never being overbearing or intrusive (so rare!); and the food was delicious. The artichoke soup, particularly, was outstanding. We are so grateful there is still a restaurant on the planet where it is possible to eat well, but where the focus is not on rare ingredients or a star chef, but on making people happy. Thank you, Serafina!
$34 for chicken cutlet parmesan special (essentially a flattened piece of chicken with tomato sauce and bits of mozzarella) with a side of salad is crazy. It was passable, but no better than the local Italian. Great for families and good service, but the prices are getting ridiculous for the quality of the food. Wine too- $16 for a half full glass of mediocre wine ($20 a bottle at the wine shop) is just over the top. Nice place, but not on par with what can get in midtown or the UWS for the same or lower price.
I attentive service. Had to ask for every refill of water, plates to be cleared etc. Appetizers and salad came out together followed 5 minutes later by entrees after we had been sitting there 30 minutes. Tasteless Caesar salad. Chicken parmigiana was dry and inedible. Calimari was good, wine good. This place should have been better but it wasn’t
Service a little slow otherwise very nice
Great service, great food & drinks!! We were right on time for our show after!! Highly Recommend!!
Hostess seemed list, food lacked flavor and music was way too loud for my taste.
We always love it here - this time was made even better with our waiter Stefan - he was friendly, patient and fun! Food is amazing - we are from Long Island and love traveling to the City to enjoy the food and atmosphere at Serafina!
Everything we ate was absolutely fabulous! My salmon on a bed of lentils and spinach was so delicious- I ate the whole thing!!!! It was cooked to perfection and delectable. My husband’s spinach ravioli were light and and fresh. He loved them! We also had calamari & they were cooked perfectly. Fried & nicely seasoned. Yummy! The buffalo mozzarella was the only this that was a little plain. Not bad, but nothing to “write home about”.
We would gladly come back to this restaurant. The service was outstanding and the prices were very reasonable. A+
Great service for a great birthday. Food was amazing and so was the table side service.
We arrived on time and were seated immediately. The servers were polite and warm. Food came out timely and was hot and delicious. The price was reasonable and we would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We ate 3 meals (2 breakfast 1 dinner) during our stay. All were fantastic. Staff was wonderful, courteous and accommodating.
The lemon ricotta pankakes are outstanding- I will forever dream about these pancakes. The veal limone and branzino special were fabulous.
Gem of a spot.
Fabulous food, amazing waiter. And great drinks!
I expected a class restaurant, reserved and dressed well to eat there as a special night on a trip into the city. When we went in and were being seated I asked the matre de if there was a men’s room. He replied “obviously” and directed me to it. Then while I was there the waitress got my wife’s wine order instead of waiting for my return. It was a rushed evening. From there our food was out 1,2,3 so not enough time to linger. Loud tables nearby led to a non romantic feel. The Buffola was high quality but presented strangely, as a solid ball in the middle of a huge plate with small tomatoes around. The special, chicken parmigiana, was presented on the same huge plate - looked like a pizza, fair but not great taste. Overall disappointing, would not go back.
Surprised at how many children were dining with their parents on a Sunday evening but other than that, the specialty drinks were yum, the food, esp the heart shaped lobster ravioli, portobello mushroom ravioli, and veal scallopini were all YUMMY, and the chocolate mousse was delicious. Definitely going back when in that neighborhood near the Beacon.
It was awesome. Food was unbelievably. We ordered chicken parm. I was splitting it with my sister. Thank god we did that. It could of feed 3 people.
Wonderful ambiance , service and food selection. We enjoyed dinner before the show at the Beacon. I would recommend it to anyone visiting that area.
Solid Italian food at fairly reasonable prices. Nice ambiance with friendly waitstaff.
Our server was good but at the beginning I felt a little rushed and then when we got to the end of the meal the server took a lot of time coming back to the table to clear dirty plates and drop the check. I put on our reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and it was never mentioned by anyone. The food was spectacular tho!!! First time I've had risotto cooked right at a restaurant and the Bolognese on my son's pasta was probably the best I ever had.
Service is consistently awful. Kind of amazing.
It was NYE so it was only a pre-fixe menu. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which was delicious and my boyfriend ordered the filet mignon medium rare, but it came medium/medium-well. Everything else was delicious but I think due to it being NYE, the quality was subpar.
Service was very very slow. It was early on New Year's eve but there were plenty of open tables, so I don't think it's that they were unusually busy. Our food didn't take particularly long to come out, but taking our order, checking in to see if we wanted another glass of wine or cocktail, asking us if we wanted dessert, etc all seemed to be lagging. A piece of our silverware fell on the ground but a new one was never brought, so we shared.
Food is very good and pricing is reasonable, so I won't say to avoid this location, but if you're trying to keep to a schedule, it might be best to go elsewhere.
New Year, New Restaurant choice. Serafina used to be good. Table was terrible, Service was terrible, food was just OK. I would say stay away plenty of Great Italian restaurants on the UWS.
Xmas Eve was great
Food was terrible. We had eaten at the Serefina in East Hampton over the summer and had a good dinner. This place doesn’t compare.
I think the chef was reading the New York Times while frying my eggs. I asked for over easy but they were not. I would have returned but I was hungry. Disappointed that they had no sparkling water for an Italian restaurant. The best part was we were not rushed to leave
The shrimps were like a rubber
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was very good, but more importantly the wait staff was wonderful, efficient ,considerate, very impressive for such a busy place.
I ordered gluten free spaghetti. It was a ball of goo. Had to eat it because couldn’t get the waiters attention and had an event to attend.
My wife ordered a pizza Bianca not much better.
Food was superb service friendly and professional fish prepared just right and appropriate sized portions
A great everyday place to dine but also good for special occasions outdoor brunch in spring and summer a delight
The service was terrible. No one came to offer drinks or ask if we were ready to order. We had a terrible time trying to make eye contact to get someone to help us. They finally took our order and when the food started to arrive everyone’s dishes came out at different times. We also had to ask for a clean fork and spoons. We had four people in our party and no one was happy.
The service and the food was excellent!!!
Food was outstanding and the service was wonderful.
Solid Italian food. We were a little cramped and it was loud, but service was good and prompt.
