I have been to Serafina before and had a wonderful experience. I brought my wife for her first time and i was embarrassed. It was so bad that we started playing a game to see if anyone noticed the basic requirements. I can report not one time. We will go back to Serafina but absolutely never to the UWS one.
We went for breakfast and the waiter who sat us didn't bring my kids the crayons and paper other kids had been given. We also ordered the breads and jam basket, which we only learned they ran out of when we asked where it was. Over all the food was fine, but the service was lacking.
Delicious! Their Gnocchi and Pappardelle Limoncello tasted exactly like our favorite dishes from our Italian honeymoon. An amazing find!
Todo excelente. Sólo que mucho ruido
We had a fantastic server. Why? Well, he seemed genuinely happy. He also has mastered the art of being perfectly attentive - not too much , not too little. The food was good. The sea bass was okay but can't recommend it. It did not taste fresh, but the leeks underneath it were fantastic and it fish was wrapped in thin potato slices which was wonderful.
Very bad service. waiters never came to take our orders, they brought the wrong dishes (from other tables) and they seemed very confused
Horrible service, rude waiter, cold food...the manager was very nice and took the bad food off our bill, but I won’t be back.
This is a favorite spot and usually my husband and I just walk in. Since there were 5 of us we needed an reservation. I had the special - red snapper with mashed potatoes and broccoli, I think. It was wonderful. Serafina is consistently very good, rising to outstanding on some dishes. I like the 79th Street location because you can have a conversation more easily than in some of the smaller and more crowded spaces. Great wine list.
Maybe I would recommend this restaurant. it didn't meet our expectation this time.
We have had very good food there another time that we went. It is next to the ArtHouse hotel
so is easy to eat there if you don't want to go out. The first time we stayed at ArtHouse we ate there
several times and we were pleased with it. I wonder if it is under new management or maybe it was a down
night for them.
Our waiter was beyond fantastic-so attentive, prompt and responsive. Service was fast but not rushed and we were able to dine comfortably before the Steely Dan show at the Beacon. Wine suggestions were perfect as were our meals. The rigatoni bolognese was outstanding. This place never disappoints. We’ll be back.
This is a very good restaurant in terms of food, service and fair value. We found it noisier than we are comfortable with. Your noise tolerance may vary.
We sat outside on one of the last warm nights; always nice to watch the city go by. Food here is consistently excellent- from the soup to the main to the dessert. Our go-to place when we attend events at the Beacon Theatre.
The food was delicious. The house wines were very nice. I ordered a pinot grigio and another in our party ordered a sauvignon blanc...both great! The service was lacking a little. Two of us in our party ordered a split Caesar salad because they don't offer small side salads on the menu (???). The salad arrived on one plate; we had to ask for additional plates to share it. Dessert was fresh and delicious.
Went out with boo love. The lasagna was delicious and I enjoyed every bite! The Focaccia de Sofia appetizer was amazing as well. A lil pricey but well worth it
Excellent and varied menu. Outstanding service. Nice atmosphere.
Nice neighborhood restaurant. Good food and atmosphere. Would go again.
Perfect Pre Beacon Show dinner and drinks loved it!!! Just two blocks from the theater. Staff was impressive considering the huge crowd, everybody thought the experience was exceptional.
Great location, creative food, good service. However, overpriced
Food was season well. We all got the special running around $32 a plate for chicken and noddles. Which to me was pricey but a big portion.
All great thansk
The food was great as usual. The Farfalle al Limoncello was excellent but our table was terrible, even though we had a reservation. The hostess first pointed to the first table in the door right next to the hostess stand. There were other tables visible so I asked if we could be seated at a table in a less busy area. She proceeded to seat us at a table in front of another table which meant the servers had to literally reach over us and our table to serve the table behind us because that table was in a corner up against the window. This is the second Serafina’s that I have dined at and the tables at both were so crowded together that it made dining uncomfortable.
At 7:30 on a Friday evening they were already out of a menu item (lasagna). The veal chop special was over cooked, dry and was hard. Couldn’t tell if it was veal or pork. Pretty sad. Appetizers could have used a little salt and pepper. One of the worst meals I ever had. Had to purchase a side of al dente pasta and requested extra sauce which never arrived. For medical reasons my food has to be wet and moist not dry. Worst meal
We went on a Monday evening and sat at a table outside. Everything was perfect!
We enjoyed our dinner at Serafina. The service was excellent, my dish was very good and we were quite happy.
Great casual Italian fare. The chicken salad was great. The only problem is that the noise level got worse as the evening went on - I asked them to turn the music down, which they did, but the more crowded the place got the more noisy it became. I guess there is little they can do about it - if you really want quiet, go early.
The open sunny space and the pleasant servers made this Serafina location a nice place to be for brunch on a summer day. Food was acceptable -- a member of our party enjoyed the chicken panini, but brunch dishes needed improvement and should be plated with more care. Hope they begin to attend to the details.
We all had pasta dish which was excellent, wonderful waiter and good outdoor dining
The food was innovative and delicious. I ordered a martini and got a very tatey lemon martini looking drink by accident. I took a sip, loved it and drank it, so interesting drinks as well. The decor could use a little updating but it still had a nice feel to it. Love having this dinning option close to where I live.
Not very nice place. Took my parents visiting from outta town, was so loud, service was terrible, and food mediocre. Don’t recommend.
Good food, and portions were just right. Service was also very good. Kept my water glass full throughout the evening.
You guys can’t be beat. Food’s always good and sonis the atmosphere. You’re the Sarabeth’s if dinner.
Had a late lunch, early dinner after arriving in the city to celebrate a low-key bachelorette for my daughter with my other daughter, my sister, and her daughter. Enjoyed Signature cocktails and a delicious meal. Service was attentive.
Always reliably good food and great service. We come here at least several times per month. The prices are a little high but we get that it’s UWS so nothing is cheap. We do appreciate the nice experience we have every time and find it’s worth it.
The manager was arrogant, rude and unprofessional. The fabric on the banquettes is filthy dirty and the seats are lumpy and the seat cover is split open and uncomfortable to sit on, especially if you are wearing something short or delicate. The service is on the level of a diner. They cannot make any adjustments to the dishes, as the waiter told us, they have too many people to serve. Constantly leaning over people and pouring water into the glasses and disturbing everyone. Their Upper Eastside location seems to be better managed.
The food was amazing. The drinks were a little bit expensive!
Bueno, bonito y barato
Serafina Upper West is a restaurant I will visit again with friends and family. Our drinks were tasty, the food choices were excellent, and the pasta was al dente.
Our table servers and bus staff were friendly and attentive.
A brunch Sunday brunch! Not at all crowded. We sat outside and had a lovely meal for under $20.
The food was okay but there are certainly many better options in the same neighborhood for Italian fare. The noise level in the dining room was very high. It's a family friendly place so I can accept the young boy throwing his shoe and having it hit the floor repeatedly but the door between the dining room and the outside dining area slammed shut over and over and over as the wait staff moved between the two areas. Extraordinary that they don't see this as a problem. My first and last visit to Serafina.
