Lovely place for people watching and enjoying a fabulous meal.
I like going to Serafina. It is a great addition to the neighborhood. The only thing that would make it better is if they added Linguini with white or red clam sauce. Just a hint...
The service was awful and so was the food
Food portions very small
My ravioli with mushrooms was extremely salty
Yes I would recommend this restaurant if your looking for decent, casual and can bring entire family and have several hours.
The dishes that my guests and I had were perfectly seasoned, the food was hot and the drinks were cold!
Food was ABSOLUTELY delicious!
Service was OFF throughout meal. Drinks ordered with entree were brought with appetizers. Appetizer dishes never cleared, so waiter bringing entrees had no place to set down plates. Cream requested with coffee had to be requested multiple times before delivery.
Perfect for lunch on a beautiful New York afternoon. We sat outside. The service was good and the meal tasty.
Was spending a weekend at the Arthouse hotel. After a tiring day we decided to “just eat downstairs”. Disappointing. You know when you’re served a basket case f soggy crusted Italian bread that you need to lower your expectations. I used to like Serafina’s when they were first starting out, but now that they’ve grown to a citywide chain I’d rank them just above Olive Garden.
My food at Serafina was really really excellent but my dining experience was not great. I came early and with a reservation. A female who appeared later to be a manager first tried to seat me at the bar. I am so tired of being a single diner being pushed towards the bar. I want a real table where my feet are flat on the floor and I'm not staring at bottles all night. So then, when I declined and in a very empty restaurant, she sat me near a lot of tables filled with young children. There were other choices but this is where she put me. I felt like this was punitive seating. Things got better again. I had an excellent waiter who was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I had a delicious burrata/smoked salmon appetizer and a pappardelle with mushroom pasta special that was heavenly. Things being rectified, I was really glad to put down a generous 25% tip for my waiter. But then here came that woman again. She grabbed my check and money off my table. Perhaps they share tips but I was worried the tip would not go where it should. Based on these events, I would never go back here.
Excellent Italian food, mostly presented in a classical manner, some with surprising and inventive flair. A great place for pre-theater dining or for a more relaxed meal. Generous portions, excellent quality ingredients.
Lunch menu provided something for everyone - salad, omelet, pasta, sandwich. Perfect.
Mother’s Day brunch
Serafina at any location is always a hit. Great section of tables outside at the UWS location - perfect for a summer date, family dinner or a refreshing lunch/brunch.
We frequently eat dinner at the 55th street Serafina before a show or concert and was pleased to find another location a few blocks away from the Beacon Theatre on 77th street when we had tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld. The restaurant has a great energy and was most enjoyable on a comfortable May evening that permitted the doors to be open. We had reservation and were seated immediately. We took advantage of the pre-theatre price-fixed menu and had a wonderful meal. We would certainly recommend Serafina to anyone coming to the upper west side.
Great food terrific hospitality
Serafina West has a great NYC vibe and delicious food. We were heading to the Beacon Theater and the waiters were very accommodating.
Food was delicious and they made me a decaf cappuccino with skim milk!!
Whenever I visit NYC I always have dinner at Sarafina. The food and service are both great and the staff is always polite and courteous. The restaurant is in a great location and does not have the traffic that you experience in midtown or downtown NYC. This is by far one of my favorite Italian restaurants in NYC.
Great breakfast. Loved lemon ricotta pancakes!
Had a wonderful evening here - it was raining out so the crowds weren’t as big as they might be otherwise, but we appreciated the ambiance and the service was excellent.
Service is always terrible at Serafina. Never enough staff for tables they have. Servers are hard to track down and don’t stop by often. It’s like that every time we go.
The food was great. The experience at Serafina is a true, fine dining Italian experience. The prices are right, the portion sizes are great, food tastes great and its a great spot for a date night.
We chose this restaurant from write-ups on line and I am pleased to say that we absolutely loved it. The whole experience was wonderful, from the food , the service through the all around warm and welcoming ambiance. Lovely dinner, thank you .
This is the second time that we have been to this Serafina restaurant. My daughter had the crepes and I had the rigatoni with bolognese sauce. Both were delicious, but the bread was cold ( I do like warm bread). The service is awesome- waiters come around often to refill the water glasses and ask how we were doing. Will be back again!
Get spot if you are going to an event at The Beacon Theatre.
We waited for a long time for a waiter to take our order, and to get our food. My sister complained to the manager, who walked away in the middle of the conversation. He said they were busy, but the place was less than half full. When the food arrived, it was room temperature. We tried someplace new for brunch and unfortunately it was Serafina. This was a bad brunch experience, and I don't recommend it. Service was bad and food wasn't hot and just OK. Spend your money elsewhere.
Sat us in the middle of the floor with waiters hitting our chairs. Had to ask the bus boy to get the waiter to get s drink. No value for the money.
Great place to eat before a show at the Beacon Theater or Lincoln Center. They have a 3 course prefix menu from 4:30-7:30. We got one of these meals and shared the appetizer and dessert. Ple-fix portions were enough to feed both of us. They have a truffle ravioli which is to die for. My grilled salmon was delicious also. Good service as well.
Food always good, been there several times. Only complaint was had the pre theatre menu, was so much food too full couldn’t have the desert.
Plates are big and food is very good, service is good!
We had a 5:15 reservation and our table was waiting for us..We explained that we were attending a show at 7 and wanted to make sure we had enough time to enjoy our meal..Everything went well..the service was great and the food was terrific..
Food was great
The worst coffee I have ever had.
Went there after a show at the Beacon Theater with two young teens and two adults. Service was okay, the food was good, the noise level loud.
I would go back again if in the area.
Nice place before a show at The Beacon. Chicken parm was huge! Nice wine list too.
Recommended for an average Italian meal...serviceable, good location but nothing ground breaking about the offerings. To be fair, we didn't have the pizza, which seems to be the signature dish.
