Serafina - La Concha
Service was slow. Good was good once we received
Our server was very attentive. I ordered the ravioli and they were swimming in butter sauce. It was a little too much. My husband had the sea bass. The presentation was not very appetizing in appearance and taste. Aside from what the fish was wrapped in, he enjoyed the dish.
Overall the experience was good. The lasagna and rigatoni Bolognese very tasty although a tad salty. Carpaccio was tender and flavorful. Prices for pasta a little high considering there is no salad with the main course. Drink prices also a bit high as the martinis tested more like the mix then the alcohol which defeats the purpose of drinking a martini.
Great experience. Food and service were excellent.
Wonderful time. Food was amazing. And service was great! We will be back again.
Out of the three meals we had only one was above average. The service was very inattentive and slow. The outdoor dining was nice and comfortable but the music was quite loud.
Good food and great service
This restaurant was a beautiful surprise. The service was wonderful and the food for great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Excellent Food and reasonably priced. Definitely a place to try
Decent food. Very expensive. Good service.
This is a great spot for great Italian food in the Condado neighborhood of San Juan. Every one was very friendly! Food was so delicious! It is very loud, which isn’t a bad thing here! Love it, will definitely go back!
Great food & exceptional service!
It was my first time and I found the service and food superb. I recommend the Rissoto and the sea bass. Great martinis also.
The food was plentiful and really good. We had the lasagna and spaghetti Bolognese. Service was only fair. Although the waiter was nice, he never introduced himself, took a while to acknowledge us, take our order, and bring our wine (which was served chilled even though it was red wine, although it warmed up quickly). Ambience was very pleasant. The two-top tables are tiny and it we had to combine and rearrange dishes just to fit everything. Overall we were pleased since the food was so good.
Overall a very good restaurant but the service is a little off , it took a long time from our appetizers to the entree to be served. The kitchen staff is either undermanned or inexperienced.
Stopped there for lunch and sat outside under cover. Ambiance was very nice as we weren't the first row by the street and the outside was cozy. Staff was very friendly. Had trouble being recognized as having an Open Table reservation since their internet had been down, but Open Table rectified the situation for me. We ordered a jalapeno margarita and a Puerto Rican beer. The margarita was only average and pretty small for $12. No real jalapenos in it. I think the only thing that made it a jalapeno margarita is the spice around the rim. We ordered a pizza with mushrooms and smoked bacon. The bacon comes out as basically three or four big swirls of uncooked bacon. We took off the bacon and had them crisp it up two times and it still wasn't like bacon were used to in the States. They explained that they only send it through the pizza oven. The little bit that was crisp enough to add to the pizza made a big difference (better) in the taste. The pizza itself was just okay otherwise. And this all cost $40 for lunch. I would give it another chance but would order pasta next time.
While in San Juan we went to Serafina 3 times. Food was great! Service hit or miss depending on how busy. Our last visit was great. Pizza is delicious and ravioli was great too. Server was best one out of the 3 times. We like sitting outside so that was a plus for us. We'd return next time in San Juan.
Food is great. Made a reservation and found out when we showed up that reservation is only for indoor dining so we had to wait 30 minutes for a table outside. We ordered appetizer that didn’t come. Drinks expensive for size of glass. Also slow to get entrees. Too bad.
Food was amazing and authentic
Great! We had a lot of fun. We brought a kid. Good menu for kids
Great service our waitress Alex was wonderful, the wine by glass choices were very good. Our appetizer and entree were delicious. Good prices
The food was fantastic & our server was really fast and attentive. Highly recommended.
We sat outside, so there was a lot of street noise. But it kept my children entertained!
Amazing place. A MUST GO! Host and Server were professional. Will be going back soon.
Food was Amazing! Price was very reasonable. The service was very slow, and not very attentive. But the food was so good it made up for our poor server.
Salmon was very salty, so
we return it. It was to
late to reorder food. No alternative was given as a complementary courtesy for the inconvenient
Vacation with college age kids... we had an AWESOME time. Great food and atmosphere
Recommend outdoor seating!
Ordered two entries for two people, the pasta came out 30 minutes before the waitress came over to check on us,... the pizza never came.
Very impressed and would definitely recommend. Our dishes, though relatively hard to mess up (rigatoni w/ bolognese and penne arrabbiata), were quite tasty - portions may have been a tad small but not egregiously so. Creme brûlée for desert was most excellent, and the beer was an especially generous pour. Minor complaints: had to ask for bread (and only got two pieces), server could’ve been a tad more attentive. Worth highlighting: Outdoor seating/ambiance was AMAZING (energetic but not too loud, well-lit, roof came out as soon as it started raining).
It’s was very good that we went back a 2nd time
The experience at Serafina was fantastic! Ambient, food, drinks and service was excellent. I totally recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to eat italian food and, at the same time, have a good time.
Fantastic food and setting!!
When we got in we were located in a table close to the bar. At that moment three of the upper restaurant staff decided to have a meeting at the bar stools close to our table. Each one was defending their point of views and the conversation turns on to be loud and with a bad word coming from one of them. We requested a table change, but instead, they were informed and they moved their meeting to another place. That was at the entrance of the restaurant and it was not a nice beginning for our dinner celebration.
We went to Serafina during the busy week between Christmas and New Years Eve...and it showed. They were out of a lot of items, and the kitchen was seriously backed up. The server did a good job of keeping us posted, but it was still a very long wait. They also asked us to move tables before dessert arrived in order to accommodate a larger party. I would normally have no problem with that, but the Manager bluntly asked, "can we move you to a different table?" Just lacked tact. How about "I have a favor to ask of you...we're trying to squeeze in a larger group...I'd love to buy you a round of drinks or dessert if you could help us out?" When I looked displeased about the bluntness they wound up giving me a 20% discount off the entire check - which is considerably more than I would ever expect. The food itself was pretty good. Not a spot for great Italian fare, but definitely a fun spot to be.
Once again a great dinner at Serafina at La Concha. Even though it was New Year’s Eve, everything was perfect. Food was excellent, service was excellent and food came out timely. DJ playing great music and had some entertainment that was fun also. Manager Angel, very personable and place is one of the best run restaurants in San Juan. Looking forward to going back when vacation there again
very disappointing. beautiful spot, terrible service, mediocre food which took a long time to arrive at the table.
We had Stephanie who along with the rest of the wait staff was cheerful and helpful. Food is plentiful and robust in flavor. The menu is Italian with upscale pasta and pizza offerings along with steak chicken and seafood. We enjoyed a margarita pizza as an appetizer, followed by surf and turf risotto. We had two of these with the fillet cooked very different from each other and both came out to perfection. The chicken Milanese was dinner and will also be lunch, lastly the filet mignonette burger was awesome. Finish your meal with the homemade tiramisu.
The food was very good although we felt that the pasta with Congolese has very few clams- but waiter was lovely- food was nicely prepared- really popular hot spot apparently- people waiting for tables everywhere.
