The seating was extremely tight and there was a bit of a draft but it was nice!
We go to Serafina as a family on weekends. The food and service are always good and we know that people are more understanding in case our children misbehave a little. I’d recommend downstairs for adults and upstairs for families and teenagers.
Our favorite neighborhood place to eat. Food is always great. Great for the family.
Serafina79 is always well managed. Food is genuinely fresh and tasteful. Atmosphere is great. Enjoy being there with family and friends. Highly recommend.
The food is consistently good here. It’s a welcome oasis of value priced meals in an astronomically expensive neighborhood. Highly recommend—never disappointed.
Serafina doesn’t fail to deliver. If I had to comment on one thing at the 79 street location it is that their staff should smile more. The tips are great... act like it.
Very average pasta
The food was fantastic. We all loved the mushroom appetizer and crustini di Sofia. The lobster ravioli was also amazing!
Always delicious, friendly, welcoming spot. Try the tartare. It's swoon-worthy.
Very tight, tables and chairs are very close
Upstairs seating is best----away from the noise and crush, and with high ceilings, much more conducive to conversation.
Hustling, bustling always. Food is superb, if supremely overpriced.
Always attentive good service. Convenient to the MET and Central Park. A fancy family place where jeans and kids are comfortable.
The service was great!
Overall five star experience, food, service, ambiance all great.
Had the most enjoyable lunch with friends. We even stayed for dessert and coffee. Just wonderful. We always enjoy ourselves at Serafina. The staff always are attentive. A real delight. We usually only dine for dinner but lunch was delicious!!!!!!
very good wines by the glass, pizzas and salads with efficient staff. a good spot if going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Delicious dinner! We love Serafina
Extremely small place, we were almost sharing the table with other diners. I really don't think it's a restaurant that I visit again.
Great place for a birthday dinner.
Horrible pizza margarita. The sauce and cheese actually slid off the pizza as soon as I lifted it from the server. Embarrassing.
My go-to after the Metropolitan Museum. Reliable simple food, manageable prices, efficient service. The space could use a little freshening.
Food was really good.
very nice neighborhood place. Excellent for conversation, no loud music! The lighting was good, not too bright. I liked the server let me taste several different wines. The house pizza was fabulous, the thin sliced beef was nothing special- too thinly sliced!
The downside is the restaurant did NOT take my 0pen table coupon which I had with me. The manager said their system didn’t support open table coupons. That was annoying.
Service took way too long
Waiter tried to overcharge and instead of apologizing he came up with a stupid lie to cover up
Then he put 20 percent tip on the machine before he let me sign it.
It took 30 minutes to get my focaccia Ligure, I think the deliveries are prioritized over customers sitting in the restaurant.
Yes! I loved my experience at Serafina 79. We sat upstairs on a beautiful saturday.
A lovely experience upstairs with a darling atmosphere. The gourmet pizzas are not to be missed.
Really nice atmosphere. A little slow service to start and then food served very quickly
the waiter and the whole personal were really nice. very young people, but really nice, polite and profesional.
good place for taking young children who can feast on great pizza
Neighborhood gem. Very small. Had buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto, paglia with light tomato sauce & mushroom ravioli. Really excellent & would definitely go back. Also a fabulous cappuccino. Hot & perfectly done!
Friendly accomodating staff. Adrian was a nice atyentive waiter. Busboy was very edficient.
Went during a lunchtime on a Thursday and there was a very long wait between our salad and the pizza but as good as always very fresh Pizza are very good would recommend
For the amount of money we paid, the experience was not nearly what we felt like it should have been. The bread served to be eaten as Burrata was cold, ruining the entire experience of the appetizer. The pasta was good, but seemed to lack the wow factor that Serafina promises. The ambiance in the restaurant is wonderful, but our server practically did not interact with us. He only came to take our order and give us our check. In fact, the person bringing the food seemed far more engaged with our experience than the waiter himself. Overall, we left the restaurant feeling pretty bummed considering the buzz around this particular location.
The food at Serafina 79 was excellent and it was so convenient being a short walk from the Met where we were spending our Sunday. The portions here are not too big, just right. The dessert was the same- pretty light. It is a little noisy and crowded at this location but the service is quick. Only one bathroom so there is usually a line for women. Also navigating this restaurant would be a challenge for someone who isn't able to go up and down lots of stairs.
DO NOT GO HERE IF ANYONE IN YOUR PARTY IS ADA. To enter their is stairs no elevator at all. When we got upstairs although my reservation was with Open Table I got a table alright it was on top of the bar. Literally 5 wait staff were next to our table conversing. There were other tables when I requested a change they would not change us. The next table a 4-top had two men at it. They refused to give us the one next to it. I could not sit comfortably with my leg (in a large cast). I ended up leaving. The manager was exceeding rude! I don't care if it is NEW YORK I wouldn't go back there! I have eaten at two of there other restaurants they were fine. This one STAY AWAY. I ended up going to Avra Estiatorio with NO reservation as I was not able to make another through open table. They were VERY nice and accommodating!
Fun scene -- lively. Drinks are expensive, though.
It was just okay. Not worth the price in my opinion. The food was bland and the service was not very attentive. My water remained empty throughout the meal. We ordered the tuna and salmon tartare to start. Absolutely no seasoning, which isn't completely abnormal but normally there's a sauce to offset the fish. For an 18 dollar appetizer I expected a little more flavor. The farfalle limoncello pasta was no better than a basic, low end italian restaurant.
Also, it was our anniversary, which was listed on the reservation and it was not acknowledged. Just things I wouldn't expect from a restaurant like that; we won't be back.
Birthday dinner for our 26 year old daughter
Great food!! I just can't say enough about this place!! #Bravo
Had lunch with my mom and dad. It was both their first time there. I have been to other branches and always its good service and food. Server and food runner were really polite and helpful. My parents enjoyed their meal. We had a good time. Will definitely be back.
