Our very authentic Italian menu features the highest quality ingredients along with a creative twist on simple, original Italian dishes. Enjoy homemade pastas with pesto, hillside cherry tomatoes, porcini mushrooms, caviar, truffles combined with our signature sauce. Choose from simple marinated meats, fish and vegetables. We offer over 20 varieties of pizza made in the centrally located cherrywood-burning oven. The unique combination of an intimate setting with warm Italian music, charming service and deliciously good food have kept the restaurant’s stylish, celebrity-studded clientele as well as local families coming back for years.
very nice neighborhood place. Excellent for conversation, no loud music! The lighting was good, not too bright. I liked the server let me taste several different wines. The house pizza was fabulous, the thin sliced beef was nothing special- too thinly sliced!
The downside is the restaurant did NOT take my 0pen table coupon which I had with me. The manager said their system didn’t support open table coupons. That was annoying.
Service took way too long
Waiter tried to overcharge and instead of apologizing he came up with a stupid lie to cover up
Then he put 20 percent tip on the machine before he let me sign it.
It took 30 minutes to get my focaccia Ligure, I think the deliveries are prioritized over customers sitting in the restaurant.
Yes! I loved my experience at Serafina 79. We sat upstairs on a beautiful saturday.
A lovely experience upstairs with a darling atmosphere. The gourmet pizzas are not to be missed.
Really nice atmosphere. A little slow service to start and then food served very quickly
the waiter and the whole personal were really nice. very young people, but really nice, polite and profesional.
good place for taking young children who can feast on great pizza
Neighborhood gem. Very small. Had buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto, paglia with light tomato sauce & mushroom ravioli. Really excellent & would definitely go back. Also a fabulous cappuccino. Hot & perfectly done!
Friendly accomodating staff. Adrian was a nice atyentive waiter. Busboy was very edficient.
Went during a lunchtime on a Thursday and there was a very long wait between our salad and the pizza but as good as always very fresh Pizza are very good would recommend
For the amount of money we paid, the experience was not nearly what we felt like it should have been. The bread served to be eaten as Burrata was cold, ruining the entire experience of the appetizer. The pasta was good, but seemed to lack the wow factor that Serafina promises. The ambiance in the restaurant is wonderful, but our server practically did not interact with us. He only came to take our order and give us our check. In fact, the person bringing the food seemed far more engaged with our experience than the waiter himself. Overall, we left the restaurant feeling pretty bummed considering the buzz around this particular location.
The food at Serafina 79 was excellent and it was so convenient being a short walk from the Met where we were spending our Sunday. The portions here are not too big, just right. The dessert was the same- pretty light. It is a little noisy and crowded at this location but the service is quick. Only one bathroom so there is usually a line for women. Also navigating this restaurant would be a challenge for someone who isn't able to go up and down lots of stairs.
DO NOT GO HERE IF ANYONE IN YOUR PARTY IS ADA. To enter their is stairs no elevator at all. When we got upstairs although my reservation was with Open Table I got a table alright it was on top of the bar. Literally 5 wait staff were next to our table conversing. There were other tables when I requested a change they would not change us. The next table a 4-top had two men at it. They refused to give us the one next to it. I could not sit comfortably with my leg (in a large cast). I ended up leaving. The manager was exceeding rude! I don't care if it is NEW YORK I wouldn't go back there! I have eaten at two of there other restaurants they were fine. This one STAY AWAY. I ended up going to Avra Estiatorio with NO reservation as I was not able to make another through open table. They were VERY nice and accommodating!
Fun scene -- lively. Drinks are expensive, though.
It was just okay. Not worth the price in my opinion. The food was bland and the service was not very attentive. My water remained empty throughout the meal. We ordered the tuna and salmon tartare to start. Absolutely no seasoning, which isn't completely abnormal but normally there's a sauce to offset the fish. For an 18 dollar appetizer I expected a little more flavor. The farfalle limoncello pasta was no better than a basic, low end italian restaurant.
Also, it was our anniversary, which was listed on the reservation and it was not acknowledged. Just things I wouldn't expect from a restaurant like that; we won't be back.
Birthday dinner for our 26 year old daughter
Great food!! I just can't say enough about this place!! #Bravo
Had lunch with my mom and dad. It was both their first time there. I have been to other branches and always its good service and food. Server and food runner were really polite and helpful. My parents enjoyed their meal. We had a good time. Will definitely be back.
C'était très bon un cadre agréable dans un bon quartier
Cuisine par une amie américaine j'ai adoré
Sister in from California, so we had a wonderful birthday lunch for my daughter. The Host was GREAT. We were running late and he saved us a GREAT table. Waiter wonderful and the food goes without saying is always DELICIOUS. Overall very very HAPPY.
Too noisy at lunch time
We went with friends after visiting the Metropolitan Museum. This s good location and I like atmosphere.
Staff is friendly and our waiter was very pleasant.
The fresh pastas are amazing.
Great Italian food exceptional everyone finished their entire plate!!
Saw picture online and reserved. Looked really nice. When we arrived, were given a table for 2 between 2 other tables that was so close it was uncomfortable. Tables actually had to be moved out to get in for the booth type seat. The place did not look like the picture. They refused to seat us at another more open table for 4 and the only other table for 2 was in a very high traffic area so we stayed. Food was good, service was good. After our meal, another diner came in and requested/ mentioned that there was a whole, open, lovely upstairs ( the picture shown on open table) that was so nice and not one person who worked there offered that table option up to us. So, moral of the story is, ask for upstairs table where you can breathe and not have to have people sitting in your lap while you eat. For what we paid for our lunch and drinks, the experience should have been far better.
A quaint European style place to have lunch. Food is top notch.
Very pleasant for a casual or special night out - setting is lovely, excellent staff and great food!
Amazing food, the service was okay.
Consistently good food. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service got a bit sluggish at the end but was fine overall. Been here numerous times and it has never failed to deliver good meals all around. I will return.
Serefina never disappoints. Fresh and high quality food.
Very good service and food was delicious. We got there before it really got busy but by the time we finished it was really bustling.
Staff was friendly and very responsive.
Stairs difficult. I saw a patron fall down a whole flight of stairs. Dangerous.
Great spot to meet for lunch...loved the rooftop, food and drinks were delicious.
I remember when this noisy crowded pizza joint used to be a restaurant. We found it noisy and uncomfortable with very casual and rushed service. The food was acceptable but the experience was not enjoyable.
Abbiamo aspettato 40 minuti per mangiare
Great testaurant glad we found it. Best pizza I ever had . Pasta was cooked and sauced perfectly. I wonder where they get the miniature penne for the kids pasta. Staff friendly and accommodating with 6 adults and 3 toddlers. Not the easiest combination. Will certainly return to taste more menu items that sounded delicious.
The pizza was fine but the salad was utterly dreadful.
Excellent food. Great ambiance on the second level over looking the street
Perfect lunch spot after visiting The Met! Great location, very good selection of entrees and excellent service. Great value compared to the many high priced restaurants in this area. Would definitely return!
