Serafina by The Water Ratings and Reviews
First time dining, and was everything we were expecting. From sitting by the water, to our friendly waiter, Joe, to our tremendously delicious appetizers, it was a great start to our dinner. When dinner came, it was outstanding and the portions were a great size. We will definitely go back and 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Fort Lauderdale. Truly a hidden gem.
Wonderful food and nice ambiance on the intercostal. You’d never know by the facade but go inside and it’s really the hidden gem others speak of. We had the specials (snapper and seafood risotto). Both were amazing. Two thumbs up on this place. Good service as well.
It was just OK. I called ahead of time to confirm they got my note about celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. They put us at a table in the corner, by the stairs where the servers kept coming up and down, not by the water where I asked. Then I had to tell the waitress that it was my husband's birthday, (I assumed the woman I talked to earlier would relay the message so I didn't have to, again). She brought him dessert and then we were charged $10 for it. I would've paid for dessert anyway, but most restaurants will comp a birthday dessert! Especially for a big 60th birthday. Anyway-the food was very good-I just wish they would've made more of an effort to help us celebrate. For his 70th, I'll pick a nice steak house and try again. Our server, however, Mary Jane, was very good.
The hostess was downright rude and strange and incredibly off-putting. We arrived and I️ had made a mistake and we didn’t have a reservation after all. There were plenty of open tables but she said they had no tables to give us. I️ went outside. Checked open table and there were open time slots. So I️ secured one. I️ went back in and let her know. She still said no tables were available- rudely. I pressed her because I️ had the reservation and she relented. We were at a table and the staff seemed slow to welcome us. We didn’t feel very welcomed so we left. Not sure why she was rude. Really not sure why she wanted to keep us out of the restaurant. We were dressed nicely, and friendly to her. If there was a legitimate reason, she should have the professional communication skills to explain to a patron in a manner that is friendly.
Certainly not going to give this place a second chance since they were so unwelcoming. Not a nice feeling.
We have been here quite a few times. The food is always consistent and good. It’s nice to sit outside. Very nice boats parked there so it blocks the view but just knowing your on the water is special. Our waiter couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Will go back again,
In general the food was decent, but very inconsistent. Don't get the shell fish. The mussels were terrible and the shrimp over cooked. The pasta in truffle, had way too much truffle and tasted terrible. The gnocci and linguini carbonara were excellent. Our waiter, Joey, sucked! Me and one other in my group of 10 complained that the mussels were bad and we did not eat them, but he just shrugged it off. Also, the deserts were so big that one tiramisu could feed 4 people, but since his tip was included in the check, he just wanted to build up our final bill and he did not inform us that not every person needed a desert. Most of the desert went to waste. The ambiance was very nice, but overall experience was disappointing.
A bit tricky to find (It is on 20th and Sunrise) but a delight I keep for my special occasions.
It is true Italian, the servers have been there for years (Bianca is a sweet heart) and their cuisine never fails to impress. Velvety fresh fish, decadent Osco Buco, the best and most creamy Burrato etc, etc.
Wines...Love their Wine Selection, you see it properly chilled as you come in.
I keep this one for Special Occasions as its romantic dining, simple water view as sit by Mega WaterCraft docked next to you, the calm breeze and great service, wine, food and well you get my idea.
Take some time out for yourselves, find this little hidden jewel, you will be glad you did.
This is such a lovely hidden gem :) tucked away with a beautiful view and fresh air dining. As always the food was amazing. We had the specials of the night- the grilled octopus and calamari with a citrus sauce, the snapper with a lemon caper sauce and angel hair pasta, the Parmesan risotto with scallops and asparagus.....they were all divine. My sister in law was in town for a business meeting and I arranged dinner for us. It was a huge hit with her and her colleague. Can't wait to do it again!
Just wonderful! This is a gem of a restaurant. True italian food, exceptional service and a great outdoor setting on the water. We were a party of ten and had a great table outside right on the water. This was a business meal and EVERYONE had a wonderful experience. Your evening specials were excellent, creative and true Italian. Everyone commented how flavorful the food was and loved their experience. Don't let the exterior entrance fool you, this restaurant is well worth finding.
My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate my birthday. We were seated on the patio which had a very romantic ambiance. Our waiter was knowledgeable of what to recommend based on the types of foods we mentioned we typically enjoy. The bruschetta served was a great start as the ingredients seemed very fresh. As an appetizer we shared the shrimp which was good. I had the chilean sea bass and it was amazing! The clams and mussels were perfect and the portion was large. At the end the waiter surprised me with tiramisu (which is typically not one of my favorites) but it was so light and not overwhelmingly sweet that I enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this restaurant and hope we visit again!
We have enjoyed Serafina several other times. We chose to sit inside (very small, quiet) as south Florida summers are not exactly condusive to outdoor dining! Service was excellent; our server was a seasoned professional. The food was delicious- three of the four of us ordered the snapper special (oreganato). Excellent, fresh and generous portions. Overall a nice evening.
Food was good, just overpriced for the quality, would have expected it to be better for the price. Seabass had a fishy taste to it which was surprising and the pasta that was it's side was extremely basic. The Osso bucco was really good as well as the risotto.
Our bill for 2 people with a small app and 2 glasses of wine each was close to $200.
Atmosphere and service were great, but the food was not. I had salmon which was bland and over cooked and my boyfriend had bolognese which was average, we have definitely had better. It was pretty pricey and the food just was not worth it. I wouldn't recommend this place for anything other than appetizers and drinks by the waterfront.
