Serafina at The Time Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Sat at bar to eat. Asked server (not bartender) for day's specials and he said "we just got what's on the menu." I eat here every Saturday so I knew that wasn't the case, and it wasn't. He just didn't want to check. We never got bread. I ordered the lentils side dish but got lentil soup; I said nothing since it was so packed and my partner would have finished dinner by the time they would have rectified this. There just HAS to be a better way of taking care of the people dining at the high tops around the bar so we don't get forgetten in the mess.
Arrived at 10:15 after picking restaurant on opentable and viewing menu. We were told we couldn’t order off brunch menu till after 11 nor could we have mimosas while we wait since they were a brunch items. We decided we were not in a hurry so we would wait and relax. My mom ordered a latte and I had a soda. Menu said fountain drinks but soda came from a bottle and although my mom only ordered a latte they tried to give us 2. Finally 11 comes and we had a hard time flagging down a waitress to take our order since they had a shift change. She brings us the brunch menu and it doesn’t have 1/2 of what the online menu had. Whatever, at this point we ha e already been waiting so we went with it. I ordered pancakes and my mom ordered French toast. No substitutions just straight off the menu. Our food took forever. We probably waited over 45 min and they were not busy (should of been r first clue). My pancakes were good. Syrup was in a little individual sealed serving jar not warmed up or anything. Moms food was odd since it had poached eggs on top of her French toast. She started eating and realized there was some sort of marinara sauce inside. It was suppose to be fruit and cinnamon. We asked to see the menu just to see if we made the mistake. She came back with One and we asked her is this the French toast and she said no it was something else. We said but we ordered French toast. She tried to explain that there was something else but I stopped listening. The manager came by and at 1st said he would take 25% off the check for all the delays but after that they said the meal would be free. With all the wonderful restaurants in nyc I would choose another if I were you.
had not been to this Serafina before, but found it to be well-situated for the theater district. Expect it could get noisy when busy, but we had a pleasant meal of pastas, Caesar salad and desserts before heading off to the theater. Service was good and we were not rushed. Will add it to the restaurants we go to prior to the theater.
We had a quick breakfast at Serafina. We just ordered the bread and pastry basket. Great value for $5! 2 slices of toast, a croissant and a muffin. With butter jam and cream cheese. But they only had corn muffins - no other option - and it was quite dry. Coffee was good - great value for NYC!!
We went for Sunday brunch prior to seeing a show. Most of us had egg dishes, which were just so-so. The restaurant SMELLED so good, and the lunch/dinner dishes of other diners looked very good, so I would actually give one more try for dinner...definitely not ever going back for brunch.
Server was pleasant enough, but other than trying to upsell us, we didn't' see much of him. Service was a bit slow....we ordered focaccia to start, but it wasn't brought out until after our meal was served.
We arrived at Serafina's at 6:00 on a Friday night & boy did we get there at the right time. By 7:00 they were packed. The food was AMAZING! We had everything. Appetizer, bread, entrees, desserts & drinks. I can't say what we liked best because everything was good. It was clean & the service was good. Quick & friendly. The only thing that I would say is they had very loud techno music playing but honestly once it got crowded all you could hear was people taking so it kind of faded into the background. We will definitely go back.
The service, the food, the general ambience were great. The noise level was BEYOND enthusiastic and we were glad we had a table in the back so that we were not surrounded on ALL sides. But it was a great experience and we both agreed we would come back when in NYC again. We were there between Sunday shows and the location was excellent for a relatively quick (one hour, ten minutes) meal with a great dessert.
The waitress was attentive, and knew we had a time crunch, so shje made sure we were well taken care of.
Came here for pre theater dinner for Book of Mormon which is next door. Came at 6 pm for the 7 performance. The food was tasty and quick. We had the burata app, chicken salad, gnocchi, and a pizza. $100 for 3. All were great. Theater for Chicago was across the street. Location, location, location.
The food here is outstanding! We started with an order of fried calamari that was perfectly cooked and came with a uniquely flavored spicy creamy tomato sauce. It complemented the calamari perfectly. We then had 4 different pasta dishes and the sauces were all delicious! Overall a great experience and a definite do over!
A good choice for pre-theatre dining. The staff was friendly and quick. The menu seemed
different and more expensive that other Serafina's but that was to be expected in that
location. In general it was perfect for what we were hoping for--decent food near the
theatre that wasn't astronomically priced.
