We were seated promptly. I had the large shrimp with risotto and it was very good. My wife had the tagliolini with chicken it came out a little dry to her taste however they took it back and added extra cream and she said it was delicious. The menu does say a touch of cream but they were great to add more to her liking. Our other friend had the salmon, a large piece and it was moist as well. Very good meal.
food was excellent and service wonderful. We were celebrating our anniversary which was noted on the reservations but there was no acknowledgement of any kind, no congratulations, no dessert, nothing. Would have given 5 stars otherwise. Everything else was great.
I had a great dining experience, our waiter was more than accommodating, informative, friendly which made our dining experience enjoyable and great! Thank U!
Dinner was great. Fun time with friends. Shared appetizers of burrata and tuna carpacio. Both delicious. I had the fish special and friends had pasta. All good.
Will try and go back again.
One of our “go-to” pre theatre dining spots. Great location, attractive interior, al fresco dining (weather permitting, friendly, attentive service. Good seafood, pasta, specials.
Food was excellent, very friendly staff, nice ambience, great service. We had the shrimp appetizer, I had linguini with chicken , peas mushroom awesome, my bf wanted a classic spaghetti w meatballs which the chef prepare for him even it was not on the menu
And it was not on the menu we will be back again
Good for all things. My favorite restaurant in NYC
Excellent experience before we hit Studio 54 for the evening show.
Tables too close to other patrons.
We waited for at least 15 minutes with no service and left; went to diner across the street
Everything was good as usual. We’re regulars
Fantastic dining experience. Excellent food. Terrific service. Thank you!
I don’t see what all the hype about the serafina restaurants are about. The food was bland & overpriced, try stuck us in the back next the pizza kitchen & our wait staff kept changing. Frankly, I was embarrassed I took my out of town guests there for brunch. Overrated!!!!
It was good! The chicken was bizarre. It was like a big flat sheet. I don’t even know how they got chicken to look like that. But the ravioli was good and the chocolate dessert was amazing!
The food and drinks at Serafina Broadway are always delicious. The noise level is stupefying, however, and the din of conversation accompanied by "background music" which only heightens it. The chairs and benches are uncushioned, making them a rather uncomfortable sit; but this lack of padding, plus the tiled floors, adds to the overall noise level, as there is nothing to absorb it.
excellent menu, super service, in and out for Theater, cool ambiance, great energy level, efficient wait staff
Always consistent, priced well, and food good
Buena comida y ambiente agradable. Una buena opción
The tables were incredibly close together and we had a family with screaming children next us the entire meal that stopped us from having a memorable moment. We did not feel like our server cared about our comfort as well. Very disappointed
It was delicious! 100% recommended! And the restaurant is beautiful!
The service was very disappointing. (1) made us wait when there were empty tables. (2) the stale/ clod bread was brought after 2 reminders. (3) charged us extra for "chopping" up the salad which no other restaurant does. (4) main course, truffle pasta, was cold.(5) my coke was flat and they refused to do anything about it. Overall very disappointing.
Good food as usual. This location was packed for happy hour which is good, but if you're sitting at a table there will be people standing right by your chair.
Apparently there are two locations of Serafina within blocks of each other in the Broadway Theater district. I accidentally made reservations at the wrong location on 55th. The location I wanted is in the Time Hotel right next to the Eugiene O'neil Theatre so that we could have dinner between matinee of Chicago across the street and before evening performance of Book of Mormon in the O'Neill theater. Thank goodness the Time Hotel location honored my reservation even though I had made mistake. So this review is on the Time Hotel location. The restaurant atmosphere was very nice, quiet... Staff is nice, service was thoughtful, dinner was average for Italian food in NYC. Drinks were questionable? They do not serve high quality rye whiskey and I ordered a basic Moscow mule (my go-to easy drink when the cocktail menu is not intriguing) and I actually had to send the mule back. However, when pressed for time, and considering you are in tourist trap mid-town... this was a nice before show dinner.
Incredible food and very fast service, we really enjoy. We didn't like that the tip is obligatory, they already include 17% on the total bill without notice you.
An authentic Italian restaurant very convenient to the theater district. The service was attentive but not fussy. The food was excellent. We would return again.
We’ve been going to Serafina for years. We always love the food. If you’re going to see a Broadway show it’s such a perfect place to go. Great food. Great service. Definitely recommend.
Always a good option we’ve had breakfast here several times while in the city
First in first out. No hurry just eat and get out. Not again. Go to fast food and save your money.
Overall experience less than expected from a highly rated Resturant. Food not good and not freshly prepared
I usually love Serafina's on the Upper East side, however this dining occasion took me to the Upper West Side location due to its proximity to Broadway. It was definitely a very different experience. As this location is incredibly pretentious. Initially I was excited to share Serafina's with my Mom and Aunt who were visiting from out of town. Only their 2nd visit to NYC. When we arrived they looked us over then escorted us to a table in the far back of the restaurant. I could hear the running of water from the kitchen, so before we sat down I asked the hostess if we could have one of the tables near the window in front (for there were MANY empty). She looked awkward then said they were reserved. I said I had made a reservation also. She just stared at me until, my mom said it was okay. I was horrified because it was obvious we were being tucked towards the back b/c of ageism. I noticed most others that were seated near us were also up in age. We enjoyed a tasty meal, but the initial experience definitely soured the experience. On our way out I noticed all the front tables occupied by younger groups of 20-30 somethings, notably women. Just a heads up to the manager of this location, this is incredibly disappointing. While the food and our server was wonderful, the whole experience (seating, welcome, treatment) all factors in. It could have been outstanding, but it was disheartening.
Bad food!! Use to be good...
We went to this convenient location before a Broadway show and it was a great choice! They offer more than the expected delicious pizza and pastas. One of us had the salmon and lentil entree - healthy and delicious. One of us with gluten allergy had a pasta - they offer all pastas with a gfree option. They even had two choices of pasta type - spaghetti or fusilli. Just know that gfree pasta takes a bit longer bc they are making it in fresh separate water which is the right way to cook it. This was a great choice for a special night. With the check they bring you a small plate of italian cookies on the house - a very nice touch!
Busy cause near theatre district
After our arrival the hostess proceeded past several empty tables to place me and my friend at the back of the restaurant in a far away corner booth. We had to question her in the seating and kindly told her we would not sit there. At that point she placed us in a seat in the middle of the room. Why she didn’t do that the first time around we failed to understand.
The service was fair. When my friend ask the waiter for butter instead of olive oil he acted like she was making an outrageous imposition.
The only individual we found to be nice at the restaurant was the woman who cleared our table. She asked us if we wanted to see the dessert menu and seemed very attentive.
The food was enjoyable but we were made to feel unwelcome. My friend and I both agreed we would never return to this restaurant.
Fine Italian dining in New York theatre area. Food, service and atmosphere was very good. I had the linguine and clam sauce. Nicely done.
Loved the food
Very high quality food. Extremely good service.we try to eat here on every visit to NYC.
Mediocre on every level. Inattentive staff and lukewarm food.
Will Not return.
Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. The food was decent but it was completely overshadowed by the terrible servive. Our waiter first ignored all our questions regarding the menu, failed to bring our wine when we repeatedly asked for it, and treated us in a horrible and disrespectful manner. At the end refused to process our check and when he did, rudely tossed it on the table. Cannot possibly recommend a place that would have such an individual on their staff.
