SĒR Steak+Spirits Ratings and Reviews
The set up and views were amazing. The atmosphere was also great for a romantic dinner. The service was exceptional as well. The food was not even sub par. The best way to describe the steak smoked paper. My date ordered scallops that were over cooked, and also over seasoned. She switched to the crab cakes and they were just as bad. We had macaroni that was also awful. This restaurant was perfect minus the food. So if you’d like lovely views this is the place to be. If you want great food I’d suggest another place.
We dined at SER for the first time to celebrate our twelfth wedding anniversary. We found SER to be a very classy restaurant! The food was phenomenal and the service top notch. We enjoyed the view of downtown Dallas and the live music while we ate. We highly recommend SER to those looking for a remarkable and memorable dining experience.
We spent our 26th anniversary at SER. Robert, our server, was awesome. There was a full moon-rise that night, and we requested and got a seat by the window. It did not disappoint! I ordered the ribeye, and was rather disappointed that it was slightly above average. For the price, I was expecting more flavor and juiciness. The piano player was very good, but a bit loud for the space. I would go back, but not in any hurry.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary last night at SER. He proposed to me there, so we thought it would be a wonderful evening. I informed the restaurant of the occasion when I made the reservation so we were expecting that they would acknowledge it in some. Even if it was a simple happy anniversary from the waiter. It was not acknowledged at all. In addition, I ordered my filet medium and it came out with charred edges. The steak had no seasoning and was downright bad. My husband ordered the New York strip and it had so much fat on it that he actually had to spit it out. The mashed potatoes were floating in pile and we would have needed a spoon to eat them. I will say the macaroni and cheese was good. Needless to say, we won't be going back to SER. There are so many phenomenal steak houses in DFW, don't waste your money on this one.
We were in town for a business conference staying in the hotel and decided to treat ourselves to a good steak and seafood meal. We had checked out SER online before we arrived and made reservations, we were a tad early, but seated immediately. "Robbie" was very attentive and made sure we had excellent service and even noticed that there didn't seem to be any lobster in our lobster mac'n cheese, but took care of that immediately. The food was excellent, we were very pleased with our dinner. There was live music, and although our particular view was not outstanding, it was definitely a great place for a special occasion. The price might be a bit more than some would like to spend, but well worth the investment!
When we arrived the hostess could not find our reservation. When I informed them I used OpenTable they still could not locate it. The manager quickly found us an open table with a nice view of downtown - had a nice evening.
My friend and I decided to give Sēr a try since the restaurant seemed to be participating in Restaurant Week. As we got off of the elevator to claim our reservations, a gentlemen quickly came from behind us and signaled rudely(hand across kneck) to the host to not let us in. We were told that we would not be allowed in because of our attire. As I peered into the restaurant at the many Caucasian patrons that were dressed similarly, it became painfully clear that the issue was my complexion, not our clothing. Anxious to leave without issue, we thanked them and returned to valet.
A tip for SĒR's management staff: as someone who develops large businesses for a living, I caution you to always be aware of intent and long term goals. You participate in restaurant week for exposure to increase sales. Expose, you did. I've seen enough to know that I, nor will the extremely diverse fortune 100 company I'm responsible for hosting events for, will be welcomed or comfortable here.
Thanks To Perry's Steakhouse for accommodating us without reservation and without hesitation! We will be back. All of us!
My family was very excited to try SER to celebrate my husband's birthday while staying at the hotel, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. We were seated at a table with no view. Service was surprisingly poor (a class one wouldn't expect at a restaurant like SER). It took well over an hour for entrees to arrive (this was very difficult with four children including a 3 month old), and the quality of food was extremely disappointing (free bread for the table was the best tasting item). It was a very sad experience, which I hope I never experience again.
The view was as advertised, however the quality of the steak - the most expensive steak (Tomahawk for 2) was awful. Mostly fat with little to no flavor. The SER mac was just average.
The fish of the day and appetizer were good.
Once the restaurant started getting busy the service was non-existent.
So average for a more than expensive meal - $450 for 3 people.
So many better Steak houses in Dallas.
Had a business dinner with clients at SER. Cocktails were superb and staff was very helpful with choices. I read some reviews and was concerned about service. Our service by Robert was prompt and attentive. Salads, entries and side mac and cheese were great. My only concern was the salmon was undercooked and needed to be sent back. The complementary desert made up for this misdeed. Overall, great, prompt service, well prepared food, and enjoyable night.
over all good experience, food very good, a little overpriced, but when leaving just in the elevator a call from hostess, do you want to charge to your room, when I had paid by credit card, get to my room check my cc file, already on there, waiting for a call from the hostess, never came, had to call her back, have to pass 4 people first, then she said yes the waiter made a mistake it was an other table, no excuse, very rude
