We made a reservation and got sat very close to the water. The food and place were great but the portions were small. Our waitress was very nice and courteous but she wasn’t around much.
This was my first visit to Sequoia and will not be my last. The restaurant made my birthday celebration memorable. #Fabulous!
Wonderful experience. Food was great! No too expensive but not inexpensive. Service was great. We sat outside and enjoyed every minute! Will return when in DC again.
Loved the crab cakes! Dessert was also delicious. Nice selection of wines.
Wonderful experience. My only complaint is I called ahead to request window seating for my party of 9 and they agreed. When we arrived I reminded them that I requested window seating and they agreed. When they seated us they did not seat us at the window explaining window seats were only for parties of 12 or more and then proceeded to seat a different party of 9 at the window. ?
Solid restaurant for date night, beautiful views, pretty good food, you can walk to the Kennedy Center. I thought the food was a little overpriced, but nothing crazy, especially with the views.
Nice restaurant. They over cooked my prime rib but made it right
It was my moms first time . She enjoyed it !
Great restaurant for brunch! We went to celebrate my 1st Mother’s Day and it was great. I will suggest going on a non holiday weekend. It’s a lot calmer but overall still great.
We went there for Mother’s Day. Arrived on time for our 11am reservations stood in line for 10mins and when we thought the wait was over it was just beginning. We were finally seated a hour later after finally snapping and basically demanding a table. Food was ok but a bit basis. Can’t say I was impressed. Service was good but definitely not as good as usual. I think we got two rounds in two hours. Would not recommend for Mother’s Day!!
They were completely overbooked for the 11:00 am reservations, so my wife and I had to wait until 12:30 to be seated. It was a freaking zoo over there. If you don’t have the space, then don’t take the reservations! But it works both ways, you can’t take a credit card over he phone to confirm the reservation and then not have any tables available for the time slot which we reserved. Terrible management.
Food was okay - it was brunch, not that hard to get right.
Service was terrible. Refills took forever and we ultimately had to borrow salt from the table next to us because our server kept forgetting to bring one to our table.
Ambiance was terrible as we literally had people standing next to our table. So close to our table that we literally couldn’t move our arms to eat our meal because it was so chaotic over there.
And for all of this, we paid over $300 (including tip) for a Sunday brunch (which was more like a late lunch). I’ll never come back here again
Never disappoints by far the best brunch on the east coast.
You will spend some money but worth it.
The food was great and my server, Laila, was amazing. My only gripe would be that they raised the price of brunch on Mother’s Day. Especially considering it was the same menu as always.
Mother’s day brunch was phenomenal!
Mother’s Day brunch was excellent!
I would give it a 5 total star if they had more choices in the menu, like rice and other type of vegetables. Only carbo choice was potatoes and many of us can't eat them. Also to have still bottle water. They had filter which its a poor option for many of us with compromised immune systems.
The rest, including the location, view and service, are superb!!
Our dinner and experience at Sequoia was fantastic. Our party of 13 celebrated a college graduation along with multiple other celebrations. While the restaurant was busy, the SERVICE was EXCELLENT and food delicious. Many THANKS to the SEQUOIA management and staff for a job WELL DONE.
We had a party of 12 and they were one of the few that would except a reservation for a party that large Our service was slow (even with 2 waiters), they messed up our drink order three times and two people had to wait for salads 10 minutes after everyone got their food. The fish was slimy and in a pool of sauce/butter. Several in our party commented they have not been there in 20 years and now they remember why and it will most likely not be coming back I was very disappointed because I used to love Sequoia and the location is perfect.
I would not suggest it for a large party
Incredible food and view... loved it
Enjoyed it with my family BUT when I called to modify my arrival time the person on the phone said they did not have my reservation! They accommodated but this was a surprise. Also, they have a good, new menu but the portions are surprisingly small, though good. A little over-priced, $13 glasses of Malbec NOT large pour and the appetizer board of bread and cheese though terrific was over-priced at $26.
The server was attentive, excellent job.
Great buffet and ambiance
Loved it the first time and couldn’t wait to return.... whilst the food was still great with huge selection, the service and serving of drinks was awful with hostility when this was raised. It’s always busy here so I didn’t see that as reasonable excuse. The first time was much better so hopefully this was a one off.
Sequoia’s Sunday brunch is simply the best in DC. The food selection is everything. The staff is competent and fun. If you get Rob C. that’s an extra bonus in service. I used to spend more nearby with the same quality of food, less variety and a way too uptight environment. Oh yeah - the views at Sequoia are breathtaking! It’s my after church brunch spot.
Wonderful celebratory environment for my sister’s birthday. Amazing food! Plus, the staff ensured that my sister felt like a queen for the day!
The food was amazing and the waiter Juan Carlos was attentive to our every need. It exceeded my expectations. I would recommend it to anyone to experience it at least one time.
I have already recommended the brunch! The best brunch ever. It offers a vast array of options for all your dietary needs.
The restaurant was lovely and the food was wonderful. The view over the Potomac was perfect. Our only complaint was that service was very, very slow. This might have had something to do with several very large parties near by and possibly the staff was overwhelmed.
We had a great experience! Delicious food and beautiful view. Definitely would recommend this restaurant!!!
Having the newest staff member pour a $90 bottle of wine and not know how to properly pour without splattering on multiple patrons and clearly unaware how to measure out right amount for a party of 6 is how we started off our evening. Wait staff lacked attention to detail. Food for most of our party was above average. Would recommend with caution.
GREATTT always love it here. Good foood goood ppl always
Took my family here for a special get together and it was just that! Service, food and view were all top notch. The octopus and striped bass were delicious. The one pot clam bake completely blew us away, what an abundance of seafood!! Totally worth the price tag.
The food was not good and the prices were way too high. Not worth the price. The cauliflower purée was a few stalks of cauliflower for Omer $25. Are you Kidding me. Will never go there again.
Absolutely amazing brunch! Pricey but a great spot for a special occasion.
Great way to bring in our One Year Anniversary! The food is so amazing!!! So many choices.. come hungry. Service is top notch.
Great food, nice views of river. Service was slow and we had to ask for drinks several times but they were really busy. They got there on the end! Overall it was a great time and a fun family event.
