Beautiful location, excellent service...very expensive. Definitely worth the price if you enjoy seafood; if not, other DC brunch options are just as good for half the price.

The service was terrible. Our server brought us all the wrong plates twice, and we had to send them back to the kitchen both times. We did not receive any sort of discount for this. She and the rest of the staff were also very rude. When I finally did receive my correct salad, the chicken was very undercooked. I sent it back again and did not receive a replacement after that.

Came for the new Saturday tapas style brunch. Loved all the items we ordered. The shrimp and grits was my fav. My friend loved her hash. All the portions we're just right. Best part of course was the all you can drink sparkling rose. Our server was on point too. Guided us through the menu and what items to order. We will definitely be back.

The entrance to this restaurant is a bit hard to find, as GPS directions drop you off on the street where you cannot see the restaurant. It's right near the ice rink. On the night we dined, there was an event in what is usually their main dining room, but the alternate room was quite comfortable. Bar made good drinks! There was no prix fixe menu on this evening, but we found some yummy choices. The lobster risotto and it was delicious with LOTS of lobster. My friend had the squash soup, which was outstanding. Also the scallops, which were excellent. We finished with very good cappuccino and the deconstructed s'mores. One of the reasons I keep returning here is that the Kennedy Center is in walking distance, with a path right out Sequoia's door.

The parking in the garage was $22. Food was very expensive. Service was spoiled when a manager I stopped on the way out to complain about the lousy dessert served for my birthday. Though it was provided as a treat I resented that it was a chocolate tipped cone served on top of a stale cupcake. It came to the table with a Roman Candle so I expected at least a half way delicious dessert! When I complained the gentleman manager said, “That’s no good in a place like this”, and continued seating other patrons. Kale served with my lamb chops was exchanged for delicious Brussels Sprouts. My brother enjoyed his salmon and my son says the bacon cheeseburger was delicious. I will not be returning to Sequoia Restaurant!

Sequoia has the most pleasant team of hosts and servers. We arrived 15 minutes earlier than our reservation and were seated promptly. It was New Year's Eve, so the tables were pre-set with all the noisemakers, hat and tiara one's heart might desire. The lobster bisque was delicious with plenty of lobster meat. I like my soup a bit warmer, but it was not a problem. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly. My companions lobster ravioli entree was huge, with an abundance of lobster meat across the plate--enough so they took half of the entree home. Dessert was fun and festive, especially the chocolate creme de menthe ice cream. If you enjoy well prepared food choices, dining with a group or just want a fantastic views of the Potomac this is the spot for you.

I always enjoy Sequoia's because the food is always good. It is a great place all year round because it sits on the water with an excellent view of the Potomac. We have had numerous family gatherings there. This New Year's Eve was no exception. The menu was excellent and priced right. Everything was excellent except the service. Our waitress disappeared for most of the evening and when the main course arrived it was cold and had to be sent back. The replacements, however, were excellent. I highly recommend Sequoia's for any season.

We decided we were going to celebrate our NEW YEARS 24th year ANNIVERSARY. The reservation Mgr, said we would get a special thing. Nothing special was ever presented.
Our Server Sergil, I felt was very abrupt, and seemed to not want to linger at our 7PM early reservation. Once we had our 5 courses, we never saw him again. Did we want more tea, or anything else? The gentlemen who brought out the courses, were sweet, and should have been the servers, who made us feel very welcomed. After a couple of hours of (10;15PM) freezing by the window, I was able to flag down Sergie, not sure of his name, and told him we were cold and decided we had enough, and were not staying until 1AM. He told us to chill and walked away, after I said more heat would help.

Since he never returned, I went up to the reservation desk, and waited to ask for our check. Eventually, he came running up to the reservation desk, with a check, and stuck it in our face.
I want to talk to the Manager, but he never came. The lady at the Reservation desk, left and come back with a small deduction off our check, after about 20 minutes....

WE were at the opposite end, from where the band was. It was so dark up there, we could hardly see them. But when they played they sounded great. If the band was located in the middle, it would have been better. But in the middle was a small bar, with people standing around.

The News Years 1st course was nasty tasting. Goose liver!!! The food delivers, all said they all were not fond of it. The 2nd course the crab and avocado was a winner!

Also, we walked on the second floor, because we saw the tables, but all the doors were locked, to enter for our reservation. Signs on the doors, stating there was a door on the bottom floor, would have helped. It was funny watching a lot of other guests, freezing and looking for a way in!!!

What a way to waste so much money, to not feel welcome for our 24 anniversary, to never forget!

We did a couples sunday nye brunch and it exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing, the view, the service (Nicole was great and kept our drinks bottomless) and everything was just amazing. One of the best brunches I've been to in the US.

For us, you pay for the view. It's an outstanding double story view looking out onto the Potomac River in Washington Harbour. You can even see the ice skating rink below if you go out on their nice deck. Overall the food was average. Our Poke Salad had minimal tuna and tons of noodles so it was a bit disappointing.

This was one of our top three worst dining experiences ever. The restaurant was dead - telling. The service slow. The steak was burned on the outside and raw on the inside. The sauce for the filet was medieval to cover a very poor cut. To top it off, the cheese for the loaded potatoes was shredded a week prior. Don’t go here. It is a $ restaurant at best.

The new space is impressive if not a little sterile, but definitely nicer than the old Sequoia. Food was quite good. I had the duck two ways and it did not disappoint. Wines were also reasonably priced and overall, we had a great meal.

Best Christmas meal in town! Excellent food quality and selection. Perfect service. Beautiful ambience from the top floor.

We go back year after year and recommend Sequoia to our friends.

Please though, take all of the Christmas decor OFF the stair railings. So incredibly dangerous for people with balance or mobility issues.

We came this year to try something different for Christmas Day- I must say this was the best alternative. No longer did I spend my entire day cooking, I got to enjoy time with my family and eat great food. It also gave me the opportunity to try foods that I typically wouldn't order at breakfast. The room was bright and festive and my pre-schooler had a blast with Santa. I would definitely recommend Sequoia for holiday brunch or any brunch period!

The holiday prix fixe meal was scrumptious and the views of the river and Kennedy Center are unobstructed. Our service was very good and, although not sustained probably due to an increase in diners, allowed us a bit more time to enjoy the holiday decorations.

This was the third time my friend and I have dined at Sequoia. The main dining room is elegant. It’s two full stories high, and the wall facing the Potomac River is floor-to-ceiling glass panels. The lighting fixture runs the length of the room and is modern without being jarring. Additional seating is available on the mezzanine. Our table had a great view of the lighted Kennedy Center across the River. The high ceiling makes for great acoustics. We had a table of ten sitting behind us, and while you knew they were there, you couldn’t hear what they were talking about and we had no trouble conversing in normal voices. Our meal was superb, and the service was excellent. We began with the lobster guacamole appetizer. We tried it because neither of us had heard of such a thing before. We’re glad we tried it. The poached lobster was mixed in the freshly-made guacamole. The “guac” had chunks of avocado, something with a bit of a crunch {cucumber?} and a pleasant bite. For her entree, my friend had the jumbo lump crab cakes, served with baby kale, quinoa & brussel sprouts in a grain mustard chive beurre blanc. I had the pecan maple-glazed salmon served over roaster autumn veggies & sautéed greens. Even though we both had brussel sprouts in our meals, we ordered a side of brussel sprouts & bacon. We completed our repast with dark chocolate cheese cake. The cake was dense and served with malted cookie crumbs, caramel & whipped sour crème. As I said, the meal was superb!
