Lovely evening meal. Our waiter, Peter, was a true gentleman and helped make my girlfriend's 21st even more special.

I made reservations for Saturday Brunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Was my first time trying Saturday. Compared to Sunday, the scale is smaller. It’s unlimited small plates (a smaller selection of the Sunday brunch items) and drinks. The food and drinks were amazing- didn’t have one bad item. Everything we tried we loved. The best part was the service. Very personalized and attentive without being overbearing. The pace and flow of food was perfectly timed and scaled for the size of our party (7). Would definitely recommend trying a Saturday here if you haven’t before.

We went to Sunday Brunch for our anniversary. We were greeted by name, congratulate on our anniversary any then were taken to what we considered the best table in the house. Outstanding service and a variety of incredible food easily made this the single best dining experience we have had this year! Go to Sequoia, you will love it!

We had a great time at Sequoia for brunch. The wait staff were attentive without being too intrusive. My husband and I met with our long time friends we have not seen in a while. The decor and ambiance was just the right atmosphere we were looking for. The brunch had tons of variety and stations.

We ate here Friday night of Thanksgiving weekend. The restaurant is pretty and the views are amazing. Restaurant was pretty quiet. We had the ceviche and lobster guacamole for an appetizer. Both were good. The dinners were just average...the draw must be the views. With all the great restaurants in DC not sure we would go back to this one.

I would recommend this restsurant if you are able to clear your schedule to allot for a rivetting 48 hours of GI upset. Upon first glance sequioa is a busy, modern restaurant with an upscale ambience. The menu looks impressive and promising until your dreams are crushed by the the absurd prices. The service was decent. Our waiter was attentive to things such as low drinks, silverware, but obviously not to the staphlyloccocus that was lingering on our food. This is a typical Georgetown water front restaurant. If you are looking for similar food, a warmer ambience and don't want to play roulette with your bowels, there are many other places within the city to check out.

We wanted a place to dine before going to Kennedy Center. The hostess team noted when we needed to leave for our show. We opted for couple of appetizers which we thoroughly enjoyed and filled us up without a food coma. We would go back and plan to do so. Our only note is service seemed little slow once food arrived until we left.

Service was good, as it was between lunchtime and dinner. They tried and were very friendly and able.
Food was good, but for the price should be excellent.

We chose Sequoia for our family thanksgiving dinner this year while on vacation in D.C., and it did not disappoint. Although the “spectacular view upstairs” promised by the hostess was completely blocked by the light fixtures, the food (Thanksgiving buffet) and beverages did not disappoint. Our son particularly enjoyed the milkshake bar for dessert.
Our waitress was attentive and the table was neat and clean. We appreciated having a bottle of water left at the table. This restaurant has a lovely view, right on the Potomac, and if we return we will make sure to request a table on the first level.

The occasion was "Thanksgiving Dinner" with my wife and mother in-law. Everything was very nice except the waitress kept forgetting our drinks but other than that, the food and the atmosphere was very good. I've visited the Sequoia several times in the past and I do like the service very much. I will be coming back soon.

Thanks...

We’ve dinned here with family or friends for the last 3 or years for the Thanksgiving Dinner Special and the meal ,service and ambiance were excellent. The new dining room looks good but does not have the same elegance about it.The The menu for this occasional has changed as well, and not for the better. The food was not what many of us have come to expect.WHY did they tamper with perfection ? To the staff and chefs that worked so hard to prepare the meal,I say thank you for your effort. The food was not good at all.The ham had a taste that could not be described period. The roasted pig was tasteless mush, and the fish was watery and tasteless. The mussels looked dried out and the fresh oysters looked old.The steamed shrimp were seasoned perfectly and were the highlight of the seafood offerings. The pasta bar offered ziti which was very dry.
The drink menu changed and does no longer offers the reasonably priced bottles of wine .We usually order a botltle or two of Riesling, which is still offered but at $66.00 a bottle not $25.00.
We have decided to venture elsewhere for our Thanksgiving dinner next year.Sorry we’ve had to make such a decision,as the Sequoia was our go to place.

A disheartened diner

My family and I had our first Thanksgiving outside of the house! Sequoia made it worth it. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and it wasn't too loud with as many people who were there. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have Thanksgiving without the headache of cooking and cleaning.

The view was lovely, and the service very good. The issue was that we did not know when we made the reservation on Open Table that there was to be a buffet only on Thanksgiving Day. We found out the day before, too late to make other arrangements. Overall, we enjoyed the experience but felt that the quality of the food and the experience would have been better had we been able to order from the menu.

Decided to try their Thanksgiving buffet. It was awesome! Loved all the meats (lamb chops, ham, turkey, pork, prime rib) and sides. The dessert bar was absolutely fantastic! A kid's dream for sure! Although it was quite pricey (for us anyway), it was well worth it!

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE KITCHEN, WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS NEW, SINCE MY LAST DINNING BEFORE REMOLDING; WHEN I ATE BRONZINO FISH FOR THE FIRST TIME AND WAS HIGHLY IMPRESSED WITH FRESHNESS, PREPARATION AND THEN FILLETED OR NOT AT YOUR TABLE. WHAT I RECEIVED WAS WHAT APPEARED TO BE FROZEN, SLIGHTLY FRIED AND THEN MASQUERADED WITH SOME HORRIBLE SAUCE TO DISGUISE VERY POOR PREPARATION. THE MEAL WAS HORRIBLE.

MY WIFE WAS PLEASED WITH THE CRAB CAKES, ALL CRAB AND NO FILLING.

WHOEVER HEARD OF NOT HAVING TRADITIONAL FLAVORS FOR SORBET; OFFERING INSTEAD CHOCOLATE SORBET; PLEASE !!

WONDERFUL MANAGER WORKING THE ROOM MAKING EVERYONE FEEL SPECIAL ALONG WITH A GOOD WAITRESS SAVED THE DAY, CAUSING ME NOT TO COMPLAIN AND BE FURTHER EMBARRASSED TO MY OUT OF TOWN GUEST, LOOKING FORWARD TO DINNING BASED ON MY BRAGGING ABOUT SEQUOIA. RANDY SAYLES 703-606-5007 RKSAYLES@VERIZON.NET

Six of us decided to dine at Sequoia at the last minute. There was an event taking place in the main dining area, which we were not aware of so we had dinner in the ballroom. It was loud, busy and zero ambiance. The food was good as was the service but just wish we would have known about the event prior to dining there. I would go back another time to see if the main dining room was a calmer place in which to dine.

I had made a reservation at Sequoia to celebrate my last dating anniversary with my fiance before our wedding in June. It has a nice atmosphere for a special occasion dinner. Our server was very pleasant and helpful in selecting a wine to go with our dinner. The food tasted amazing; however, you do not get a substantial portion of food compared to the price.

The service and meal were excellent even though there was a large function in the main dinning room so we were seat Ted in a separate function room. The calimari was great and the scallops were divine. The only improvement to be made is with the bread which was a little disappointing. Overall it was great food and service
