Came for a birthday celebration! Pricey for brunch service, however there were many options for food so it was worth it. Drink we’re also great , offered 3-4 options for bottomless. Only complaint is i wish there was maybe a in house DJ or even just music playing a little louder . Otherwise, i have a great experience.
Absolute worst experience of any restaurant I have ever experienced. The Sunday Brunch Buffett was overcrowded, so loud that you could not hear, and the food was horrible. Additionally, the staff was overwhelmed and inattentive. When one evaluates restaurants, they should thank of quality of food, ambiance, and value for the money. This restaurant had none of these. I will definitely cross off the list, and advocate to all of my friends that they do not waste their time or money here. So many better choices in DC.
BEEN HERE A THOUSAND TIMES ... ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT EXPERANCE
Aziz is the best server out. Have been coming for brunch here for many years. I highly recommend you request him
Good food and service. Nice setting. Just loud.
I've been to Sequoia's Sunday Brunch several times, the first few times was on Christmas day and I have to say the service was excellent. However, this most recent time which was not a Holiday the service wasn't as great. The waiter seemed overwhelmed and wasn't the best at making sure our table was cleared of plates after we were done eating and getting us refills of drinks. Overall the experience was good.
Anniversary experience was fantastic
Definitely pricey, but I mean for unlimited drinks and food, plus seafood who can turn this down! I am never unsatisfied coming here!
Beautiful space; our waiter was great. Steak perfectly prepared. Cocktails pricey but aces. mix up with first course was fixed.
Nice views. Large room. Service good. Food presented nicely and sounded special but didn't thrill us. The lobster mac and cheese was good. The octopus was tough and tasteless. The lobster risotto was good. The sea bass was quite a large portion and served over a nice risotto but somehow just seemed like a nice big piece of buttery fish. We didn't have dessert. Overall good but not great.
Fantastic location with unbeatable views and a lovely venue; neat art all around and feels upscale. A bit pricey, but in keeping with the neighborhood. Food was very tasty; had to have my filet refired, but it was fixed quickly (ordered “medium” arrived “rare”). Main complaint was service: took 10min for a server to stop by and tables seated after us (and next to us) were served first. Made it clear we were headed to a show at the Kennedy Center but no effort was made to make up time; took so long to come back after dropping off dessert menues we ran out of time to order any and skipped it.
The best thing about this restaurant was the view of the water. We were seated relatively quickly and the waiter was nice. The food however, was terrible. I ordered the surf and turf, filet mignon with crab cake, garlic mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts . The filet was not seasoned at all and the crab cake had so much shells in it. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like it came from a box and the Brussels sprouts were very undercooked. I sent the sprouts back and endured my dinner because I didn’t want to make a fuss. My husband had the braised lamb shank, which too had no seasoning. It actually made him sick. I had high expectations for this restaurant, especially since the meal cost upwards of $100. We will not be returning!
Went for Saturday brunch. Our waitress was rude and slow. Slow is the worst when you’re paying for bottomless and sit there without food and drink longer than with food or drink. I was very disappointed in the food. The drinks were good. I was expecting much more for the price. It was disappointing.
Great experience
Low quality food, average service. Not going back.
Very good from start to finish
The food was great as was the view. Overall we had a very nice dinner.
Wonderful experience. Our server Vera was very nice
Everything was great (albeit pricy) but the service was slow.
Valentine prefix menu was great and the add on for unlimited cocktails section was wonderful. Had a great date and look forward to returning.
Had awesome time with my family for Valentine's everything was great but waitresses will just show up every 40 minute to see how we was doing. she took 30 minutes for just one drink.
Food was OUTSTANDING but t little pricey. I would go again though because occasionally I like to splurge on those I care about.
Food was delicious and the service was good. Great views of the Potomac also!
Sequoia is becoming trite and over populated. It's time for me to find another brunch spot!!
Best Sunday brunch we’ve ever had. Worth the money by far.
We had brunch for a friendly celebration! We all had an amazing time. There were so many things to chose from. Mike was our server he was amazing. The food was awesome as well!! We plan to go back very soon.
Amazing décor, food, and service! All of the staff were very kind and attentive, I felt very well taken care of .
Great service. Interesting people watching. AMAZING food.
Beautiful waterfront setting, but the dining area is open with many tables and it's a bit loud.
Wait staff is very nice but the food is exceptionally slow in coming. Once it did arrive it was
cold- I assume it had been sitting somewhere undelivered. The flavors were good, but again
the food was cold. This was brunch, so I'm not sure about regular meals. In fairness, we did get
some money taken off of the bill, but it was still an expensive and it was an overall unsatisfying meal.
My wife and I enjoyed a rare day date without our 2yo daughter, and could not have asked for a better experience!
We have been to Sequoia many times for Sunday brunch (another “must” especially when the weather allows for outdoor dining), but this was our first time on a Saturday.
Our server, Pete, was top-notch and a wealth of information. His recommendations were spot on!
We will definitely return!
For once it was very quiet in the restaurant. Probably because of the rain, but we had a great time catching up and the food was delicious. Service was on point too.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, but I wasn't surprised. Each of my visits have been memorable. We started with the freshest oysters on the half shell we have had in awhile. I had the red snapper which was moist and flavorful. My husband ordered the Cioppino and hardly came up for air. Looking forward to next visit.
Thank you for the great birthday location and it’s always good to see the Mayor of DC there eating amongst us!!
It was great until are sever forgot about us multiple times.
Our waitress was the absolute best!
Our dining experienced was perfected by Papu. By far, the best server we’ve ever had in all of our travels. Papu handled all of our needs with accuracy and promptness. He smiled kindly. He knew all about the food choices (Sunday night feast) and he made the best suggestions on which stations to make a priority.
Sunday Night Feast will go down in our minds as one of the most memorable birthday dinners (“double nickels”) we’ve celebrated together in our 23 year marriage.
Thank you for going above and beyond Papu!
Thank you Sequoia for being such a memorable place for us.
We visited your restaurant when we were engaged during our first trip to D.C. (I bought a shirt to commemorate the visit, and the shirt got lost by a laundry service) and we’ve been trying for 23 years to get back.
The landscape has changed a lot. Your remodel is spectacular.
Your decor is gorgeous. Love the color!
Brunch at Sequoia never fails to disappoint!!
It was my birthday and this establishment made it so special! The food and atmosphere was everything! I’m definitely coming back!!!
Sequoia is a wonderful place for brunch. My son was turning 18 and we were shocked when he said this is the place he wanted to celebrate his day. The staff was very personable, professional and polite. We ended up with one more person than expected and the staff was very accommodating. Rebecca was everything and I Thank her for helping to make my son’s birthday very special. We will definitely be back. (24 February)
food was not good; soup not hot, overcooked greasy vegetables; vegetarian pasta was gross
