After almost 30 years, we are so proud to be one of DC's extraordinary establishments and the Sequoia you know and love. The newly renovated beloved restaurant is located in the Washington Harbour on the Georgetown Waterfront, right along the banks of the Potomac River in Washington, DC. The vast floor-to-ceiling windows offer magnificent views, and our interior design is just as amazing as our surroundings! The entire restaurant is filled with contemporary art featuring Hitoshi Kuriyama's vast neon glass tube light installation along our ceiling and Arne Quinze's grand colorful sculpture called Scarlet in our garden, as well as several other art installations throughout.     We asked for our steaks medium rare. It came out well done and so the waiter took it back. The second time it was still well done but we just wanted to eat. The food was otherwise nice and the waiter was apologetic.

    A friend and I really enjoyed our end of Summer dinner at Sequoia. I hadn't eaten there in MANY years. I can't imagine why I haven't been back recently. It's a wonderful restaurant with excellent, attentive service and fine food. We took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu (which is a great deal). The ceviche was lovely - fresh and bracingly tart and a bit spicy. The wine list is short but has something for most tastes and wallets. The view of course is exquisite. I'll be back soon!

    Went for restaurant week, my wife’s short rib was excellent. My lobster ravioli over filet mignon was good but did not compare. Also a little surprised by what appeared to be getting bagged chips with ceivche. But overall still very good.

    We ordered two salads, one with lobster and shrimp); the other one with burreta and watermelon, and a Margarita flatbread, and we all shared. THE THREE ITEMS WERE DELICIOUS!! A tiramisu at then was also exquisite.

    I was ready to give the restaurant an 8 out of 10 until a waiter spilled mimosas on a customer and Sequoia only offered to pay for his meal and not his wife's meal. I As a result, there was a loud and very public scuffle.

    I've been to Sequoia for brunch on several occasions and they never disappoint. The food is always prepared fresh and the brunch cook staff are always accommodating when it comes to special requests. If going for brunch I would suggest arriving by 11:30 am, since it gets quite busy by noon. The ambience is very nice and that can be attributed to the restaurants nice decor and fantastic waterfront view. The servers are great and very attentive. I wish I could remember my servers name from yesterday because he was fantastic. He made sure that our wine glasses that were filled with Bellini's were never empty and used plates were removed promptly. He was very friendly and engaging. I would say he is the perfect server. I highly recommend Sequoia's brunch to anyone that's looking for good food and a pleasant atmosphere.

    Awesome! The food was plentiful, tasty, and fresh. The service was on point, we didn’t have to ask for basic things. The staff was friendly and attentive. My daughter asked “ When are we coming back “ she never likes any restaurant.

    The best seafood meal I have had in Washington DC ever! I love the artichokes, even though I normally don’t care for them. The grilled octopus was flavorful and crispy where it needed to be.

    Sequoia has changed a lot, the concept of the tapas brunch is great and the food was good. Our waiter was great but the rest of the staff was not at all. Specially those handling reservations and front desk. Loud ambiance when busy. Would go back but not for a busy time of the day!

    the service staff were very attentive and personable. my wedge salad was made with fresh, house made ingredients and delicious. my filet was under seasoned and over cooked. the filet did not appear to have been made to order but heated to order and did not taste fresh. i should have sent it back. i was very disappointed.

    We absolutely loved our experience, our waitress Kathy (forgive if I misspelled her name) was super sweet and attentive! We really appreciate you making our double bday celebration special for my friend and I. Sequoia never disappoints! We don’t always make a reservation, but at this point I have done lunch, dinner, happy hour outdoors and not one experience has ever been bad. I have been a guest of sequoia for at least 4 years, consistently. I am a fan and will always recommend your establishment! Thank you again!

    Great service and great food. We both had the lobster and shrimp salad, which was outstanding—filled with lots of the seafood. Our server, Panni, was very attentive and responsive and her service enhanced the evening immeasurably. Added to all that was a beautiful evening sitting outside with a view of the Kennedy Center. We will definitely return.

    This place is beautiful with views, hence allowing all patrons to view it. Some people complained about the sun so the servers kept closing the blinds as we were seated directly in front of the beautiful view. We weren't asked if it was ok to close them. Maybe when seating people they should be given a choice and what to expect where they're seated? Our server Hernesco? Idk if that's correct and I'm sorry if not. He was fabulous great customer service very knowledgeable honest and friendly. Bow as well, she was great. The bartender was great. Other staff seemed a little stuffy maybe we might had been too loud laughing? We were celebrating a birthday. The food was phenomenal, first time trying octopus and if that's how it's supposed to taste will do it again. The mushroom risotto was the best I ever had along with braised shirt rib. A couple thyme stems here and there but overall so delicious. The fish was great all the seafood was great.

    Went here to celebrate a birthday. Food was mediocre, noise level from other restaurants in the area was high while sitting outside. Scenery is great, but the setting was about all that recommended this dinner. Got some pricey items and they were a disappointment. Birthday dessert and personable servers were the best part.

    Lackluster, very disappointed with the quality of the food and service. I do not plan to return to this spot in DC. It is obvious they are struggling to serve fresh food. I felt I was at a national chain with microwave dishes. We had just come from a cocktail hour nearby and wanted to celebrate our daughter's birthday on the waterfront. We will be taking this restaurant of the list as it truly should be closed.

    Although the food was delicious, our server was inattentive and missing during most of the meal. We were celebrating a special occasion and he was very late bringing out the cake. We were ready to leave.
