While the food was very good, I feel that it was overpriced for what it was. We sat inside, and it felt a bit like being at a wedding reception - no privacy, but great lighting and view. Our waitress was rather unpleasant, maybe because we did not order alcohol and she was hoping for a bigger tip. Overall a good meal but not necessarily as great as it’s hyped up to be. Sitting on the patio probably would have been more fun as it has a more lively vibe.

Loved the outdoor seating area. Was a little noisy due to other tables surrounding us, but there’s really not much that you can do fix that so I can’t be very picky.

I personally did not like my entree that I ordered and that was my mistake, I should have remembered that Cod is very bland- however, the colossal shrimp app was great- the sea bass that my date ordered was fresh, and the cocktails were great! I especially liked the blueberry mojito. The cocktails are gorgeous!

All in all, I would return for the outdoor seating & cocktails!

The setting is great. The food is well presented but not especially good. Slow service for the drinks. The food came surprisingly fast. Not a very good indicator.

Sequoia's ambiance is nice within the restaurant and has a nice view to look out from. The food was not that great. The nice presentation of the food did not match its taste. The food looked nice but overall did not taste that great. The chef/cooks need better skills with seasoning the food so that the food tastes flavorful and not just look pretty. The service was very slow. Had to ask many times (too many times) for bread. The lobster was very bland! It was nice that they took it back and redid another one that had flavor. But overall I would not recommend Sequoia as a place where you will get good food but would say that it has a nice view of the water to look at even though the food is not that great.

Last Sunday we were looking for a nice brunch , so we decided to go sequoia we made a reservation from open table at 2 PM , we arrived 2:10 and get sat at the patio them our server explain how the buffet works , at the beginning we ask until what time they offers the buffet ,she told us 3:30 PM so we said ok 1hour for 74.99 all you can eat and all you can drink its fine , so we start the buffet in the next 20 minutes the server showed on the table and told us the buffet is going till 3:00 PM no 3:30 PM the food was okey it wasn’t what we expected. So we ask the server to call us a mannager. The mannager arrived and the first thing he told us , was you guys got sat at 2:10 trying to say that we were lying and we just don’t want to pay , he offers drinks or more food but we were mad already and we just want to leave . But trust me for 74.99 a person do you expect better service and better quality food we are not going back for “brunch “ again really pricie and not good service at all

BEST BRUNCH IN DC!!! The attention to detail is just insane here. The outer shell on the milkshakes for example are beautiful and edible. It is clear it took time to construct. The taco bar, the pasta bar, the eggs Benedict and crab cake bar, wow just wow. My entire family was very impressed when I took them here for brunch. Also, the decor is just beautiful. The waiter was also hilarious.

Service was slow, but the restaurant is huge and that provides a challenge for their wait staff. Our waitress was running around and obviously in the weeds, so I know it wasn’t her fault. My main issue was that they were playing this loud pop music in the bar area and then blasting different music in the patio section where we were eating. It was very hard to have any sort of conversation. It’s a beautiful restaurant that overlooks the water, but the noise and slow service took away from that and we ended up leaving without ordering entrees to go somewhere else.

Table was not cleared when we were seated so we had to wait with the hostess and our small appetizer plates were filthy! Cheese board was great and so was the entree. We did wait about an hour for our salad entree.

We managed to get a last minute table booking outside on Saturday night and were not disappointed. The restaurant was extremely busy but the service was friendly, efficient and very quick. All food was delicious and drinks paired nicely. Can’t beat the beautiful view and ambience either. Thanks for a great night!

Great location and an easy walk along the waterfront from Kennedy Center after seeing a show. The Host was able to accommodate us with outdoor seating and it was lovely! Weather was perfect and the views of the river, boats and activity along the water was fabulous. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The blueberry mojito was refreshing & delicious. This place does not disappoint. I have not been in several years and was thrilled to be back enjoying great food with a wonderful view.

Wonderful indoor dining experience, with expansive views of the Georgetown waterfront! We started outdoors for happy hour and enjoyed a really nice dry rose cider, which was a new taste experience and very pretty in its special glass. Due to the heat, we opted for indoor dining and were so pleased with the beautiful décor and fabulous service by Alyssa and her team. Our dinner was delicious, and I only knocked a star due to the lobster guacamole, which was not flavorful. Our mussels were wonderful, as were our entrees. The $15 cocktails are definitely too pricey, and the reason for the knock of a star on value. We will definitely return and highly recommend Sequoia for a beautiful, not too loud, special dinner out kind of experience.

After reviewing on-line reviews I decided to dine at Sequoia with my party of 5. We arrived for dinner on the 4th of July at 8:00pm and were quickly seated. We had expected to order individual entrees but were informed that the only meal being served was the 4th of July buffet for $75.00 per person ect..When I was deciding where to dine I viewed the Sequoia website and did not see any mention of a buffet only 4th of July dinner. Neither did my wife, nor was it mentioned to me when my Sequoia called me to confirm my reservations. It was to late for me to find another restaurant and we settled for the buffet which was very good and plentiful and overall our service was great and we had a good time. I ended up paying more than I thought for a dinner for five. I hope Sequoia will make it clear on their website and with the reservations personnel to inform patrons of special events with specific menu's such as the 4th of July buffet.

Reservation for the 4th of July dinner was made a long time ago with request of a nice table by the window. Instead we were placed behind a big huge pole in the center from where three out of four couldn`t see anything. During reservation process it was not mentioned that a self service buffet was planned. The noise level in the center was so bad that we couldn`t talk to each other!! There was no dress code, and some of the guest looked very ...... For the buffet we had to walk quite a ways, the food was very disappointing. The waiters on the buffet level were impolite and not willing to help, they only pointed in the direction of where we might be able to find what we were looking for, and continued to talk to each other in their own language. The dessert counter was an insult. The only thing positive was the waiter Miguel, who tried hard to keep up the spirit, but then it is not common that a waiter needs to come right next to your ear to communicate due to extreme noise level. Sequoia - never again!!!
