Awesome experience. I appreciated all the safety precautions they took. Service was impeccable, food was delicious and you just can’t beat the atmosphere on the water. We’ve been waiting to dine out for the past few months so this was everything we’ve been waiting for. We will be back.
Food was delicious. waterfront view is amazing. service was good. drinks were great.
Came here to dine because of their large outdoor space. Was impressed by all the precautions they were taking! Temperature checks and contact tracing, above and beyond! They’ve change their menu and Everything looked so good I couldn’t decide what to have! Ended up ordering the lobster & shrimp salad, lobster scampi, octopus and coconut shrimp. Everything was so yummy! Service was excellent as well, from the hosts to the servers and managers. Thank you all for going above and beyond, I will be back again!
NEVER be back! This place has really gone down. It used to be a nice upscale place, with best part being patio views and good sea food selection. Now you get plastic cups for both water and beer, no bottled still water for purchase except for tap water, poor service, and just OK food that is overpriced. The online menu was tempting hence the reservation, but in the restaurant there was only 1/4 of it online menu ?! We had Sunday 9 pm dinner reservation, when our meal arrived around 9:30 another waiter came by saying that kitchen is closing and if we want desert we should order it now. We have not even tasted our main meal and we have to let our food cool so we be rushed to order desert?! Then same person came over stating the bar is closing and it is a last call just before 10:00. As we are finishing our dinner again the person walks up and says they are closing in 10 minutes so at 10:15. So we had to rush to finish up, pay $180 for terrible meal and leave. Horrible customer service especially for a birthday celebration.
There are plenty of other options in the area where they provide amazing experience, great food and customer service!
Terrible experience. Food was alright but bland. Drinks were not great. Service was horrible. Random server or security guard kept insisting they were closing every 3 seconds and that we have to leave. There were two other tables but he kept coming towards us and telling us to leave. Told me to take out my drink then as I walked away followed us and said throw it away. He was just annoying. Will not go again.
I was served shrimp shells in my dish when I specifically told my waiter that I was severely allergic. we were served with paper napkins and plastic cups. There was not enough wait staff and it was overall a very bad experience.
Going away dinner for a friend.
Great food and atmosphere. Prefer Sat brunch over Sunday brunch
Wonderful way to spend 4th of July during COVID
I love the tapa style small plates that were endless and endless drinks. I loved it!!
Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend for a great night out
Good service. Food is ok. I ordered the sequoia cioppino and my husband ordered the jerk salmon. My meal was so so. Tomato based broth, supposed to have “spicy” taste to it but didn’t taste it. The lobster was basically rubber, couldn’t eat. My husband said his salmon was just ok too. The atmosphere is more casual than business casual they had posted. Maybe if it’s not Covid timeframe it would be different(?).
Dining on the patio was wonderful. I felt very safe with social distancing measures in effect. All servers wore masks and temperatures & contact information were taken from patrons just in case. I only hope that the standard of cleanliness matched what we could visibly see. I cannot attest to how often employees washed their hands or used hand sanitizers unfortunately.
Fawn is AMAZING!!! Great customer service and recommendations
Our server was friendly. Food was tasty. The atmosphere was pleasant.
We really appreciate the way the staff accommodated us. It was really a great experience.
It was an overall great experience. There were times when items requested took a longer than usual time to arrive for it not to be too crowded.
The outdoor patio is perfect, especially with COVID-19. The restaurant took steps to keep everyone with masks and spread apart. Had a great time. The Saturday tapas menu was great.
highly recommend the bottomless brunch! Food and drinks delicious
The four of us enjoyed the evening at Sequoia. Entrance to dining outside is a bit challenging with the waiting at only one station to be scanned (temperature) and complete a card with name, email, phone.
Drinks were well crafted and served at the right temperature. All appetizers and entrees were served at the right time and together as we progressed through our meal.
Waitress was familiar with the menu and was attentive but not over-bearing.
It was better than expected. The restaurant was not crowded and adequate precautions were taken due to COVID. We dined outside facing the river and had a lovely time.
The lobster flatbread was so yummy!!! I’m appreciate the checking of temperatures and The edgier yo complete contact tracing if necessary. Service and food was wonderful as always! It wa a awesome to be out!
First venture out in months...excellent care was taken to assure social distance, tempertures taken upon arrival, virtual menu and all wait staff wore masks and gloves. Tables were socially distanced creating what felt like a safe yet inviting dining experience. A lovely time was had by all with delicious food and a beautiful view of the Potomac.
Shelton our server was great!
Beautiful place and view.. excellent meal.. just perfect
We went on 6.21 and had a great time. I appreciated all the precautions they've implemented. Our food was amazing. We had crab legs, crab cakes, bronzino and the strawberry tres leches cake for dessert. Our server Rachel was extremely attentive and helpful. I liked the social distancing set up. We had an intimate father's day dinner while enjoying a lovely evening and view.
we loved all the salads and the crab cakes, my son loved the lobster.
This is the first time in my 25+ years coming here that I am so disappointed. I have always come for the Sunday brunch and on special occasions for Father's Day/Mother's Day, etc. But this time with the COVID19 and the new norm of social distancing, I will put that into consideration which is why I didn't give 1 star across the board.
However, the chicken with my waffles on both servings was WAY overcooked and overpriced. They DROWNED my waffle with syrup. I literally only ate the overcooked leg and burnt wing and left the other 2 dried up "rocks" aka not even a whole piece of chicken, looked like a breast cut in half and then fried into two separate pieces. The steak and eggs was requested as "medium" and it came out WELL DONE, not a smidge of pink inside that steak. Most chefs would be insulted if you requested a steak more than medium rare or medium so this chef ought to be ashamed of himself in that kitchen being the name of the restaurant and their reputation of such high end food. The price was definitely not worth the food the way it came out.
Fortunately, the only good thing was our waitress, and unfortunately I don't recall her name... but she did deliver good customer service as best she could. With it being Father's Day weekend it was quite busy, so she did good for it to be a hot, and eventful day and what looked like she had about 10 tables to herself and she was constantly being pulled back and forth. So kudos to her. Need to have either a better chef or more help in the kitchen looks like. This terrible food could've been avoided, and my husband and I were sorely disappointed by the food. Maybe we'll give it another go when things go back to normal and we can come back to brunch.
Alexis, I am so sorry for your poor experience on Father's Day! We have taken the last few months to carefully redesign a completely new menu to satisfy our guests, so it is completely unacceptable that we have fallen short of your expectations. We would love for the chance to make it up to you if you will give us another opportunity. I will send you a private note with my email address. Thank you for your feedback so we can further improve ourselves!
We had a WONDERFUL time at Sequoia for Father's Day. The service was great, the drink specials were really good and the food was good as well. We had beautiful weather, looking at the waterfront, it just doesn't get any better. Will definitely return again!
We came here for Father's Day and got a table right next to the water. It was beautiful. I ordered the crab cake benedict that came on a homemade jalapeno cornbread instead of an English muffin and let me tell you.... It changed my life. Everyone else's food was amazing too - there was steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, and crab wrap. All were outstanding in portion and flavor. Will be coming back very soon.
Everything was superb no complaints and my 3 children had a ball
Sequoia did a great job of providing great food and definitely have great social distancing/sanitation protocols in place. The only thing I suggest is for them to provide sanitation wipes or even put up a sign
The menu was limited and I would like for the buffet to be back.
Dear Gladys, Thank you for your feedback and your continued patronage! We also share your love for our Sunday Brunch Buffet and miss it terribly! At the present moment, the health and safety of our guests and staff is our number one priority. However, our Saturday Brunch remains unchanged with bottomless offerings from our tapas style menu and unlimited sangria and mimosas. We hope you can try it out! Thank you, Annie Chien General Manager
Excellent food at a reasonable price. The lobster & shrimp salad was the best! It was a very large garden salad with half a lobster and a good number of shrimp on top. The salad flavors and mango dressing were outstanding. Other excellent choices were the crab cake eggs benedict and the crab blt salad.
