Amazing food, service, and location! The place I had originally wanted to take my clients had closed suddenly, but luckily I was able to secure reservations for Seoul Jung.
The food came out fast, sizzling, and HOT! (I got the "Do Sal Bi Bim Bap") and my business partner got the Kal Bi.
Service was kind, courteous, and warming. From the moment I met the hostess to the time my order was taken. The management seems to pay attention as I see the floor manager checking up on patrons around.
Overall, can't wait to go back!
This is a hidden gem. Food was amazing and it just kept coming. Make sure you let them know you are kama'aina. One of our new local favorites!!
Very tasty Korean food. When we ate there, the place was crowded and as folk left, others came in so they were always busy. As the majority of the customers appeared to be Korean, or of another Asian background, and for much of our time we were the only Caucasians in the restaurant, we are sure that they provide genuine Korean food, prepared by Korean chefs. The Manager was very friendly, and when we had a couple of questions of the waitress, who couldn't really understand what we were asking, he quickly came over to chat with us.
An excellent restaurant for authentic Korean cuisine!
As a local resident I wanted to try Authentic Korean Food and to my surprise it was really good.
They gave a lot of food and the service was fast. The staff was very helpful when making my menu selection.
I would recommend Seoul Jung to my family and friends, even our out of town guest.
Best Korean restaurant in Waikiki! Many new dishes on the new menu. As usual the food comes out fast and hot. The LA Kalbi is the best around. Friendly service. I will be back.
Online menu does not match in house menu, was frustrating to figure this out after having sat down and started our appetizer order. No seafood available whatsoever.
I went this restaurant several time and I enjoyed their food and service.
But I was disappointed their service this time.
I have not received 100points from this visit yet.
Love coming here for our semi-annual authentic Korean meal in Waikiki!
The food is authentic and the service is amazing. Great place for a peaceful meal away from the crowds in Waikiki!
Food was tasty. One lady was very friendly but other one was not.
I mentioned I made reservation from Opentable but I was told they couldn't find my name. This situation was second time.
We paid by friend's credit card so I don't know I get the point.
Excellent Korean cuisine! Must have the Sundubu and the Black Cod (Butterfish). Dishes comes out quickly so the sizzling platters are still sizzling and the stews are still boiling. Great service too.
Best tasting, most authentic Korean Food!
The ambiance of the restaurant and the quality of the food was poor.
We were very disappointed about that experience and cannot recommend that restaurant.
Made a reservation on the spur of the moment. Excellent Korean food with efficient service. Would visit again next time I am in Hawaii.
Loved the seafood soup (I believe called sundubu). Might be best sundubu in town. My friend enjoyed the Bulgogi soup. Kisuk was our server and she was terrific. Found this place on the second floor of Waikiki Resort Hotel. Definitely will come back again.
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! What more could I say. The food, the service, and the staff was top notch. If you enjoy traditional Korean food, then you would be doing yourself a disservice for not coming to this place. And if you haven't tried Korean food before, then this is the place to start.
Very authentic Korean...the bbq is what we had, the meat was excellent and the accompanying pickled foods and assorted assured were traditional and very good. They don't get many mainland tourists I think as they seemed surprised and pleased to see my us...and they are very helpful with the service..
We ordered combo with tofu kimchi stew and fish. The food was very good, as far as I'm concerned (I'm not Korean), the problem was that the description of the dishes did not mention meat, while they did contain beef. I'm a vegetarian, so this was somewhat problematic. This is why the service is 3 stars, because otherwise the staff is very friendly.
This place is by Koreans for Koreans. The food is authentic and portions are good. The meat comes with a variety of side dishes, as one expects for a traditional Korean place. The only disappointment was that Kimchi was too young. The server was attentive.
We tried their lunch special. We ordered soon dubu which is a soft tofu soup and it was excellent. The soup was red but it wasn't spicy at all. It has a lot of soft tofu, vegetables with some seafood and it tasted so good. mm.. We also ordered bibimbap which was one of the best bibimbap that I had. It has a lot of various vegetables, barbecue beef and fried egg that you mix with rice and hot sauce. The best part was they all come with a piece of barbecue chicken which was very moist and tasty, so it was also a great deal! They have excellent lunch specials!
Excellent overall experience at this restaurant. Had a craving for Korean BBQ and wanted to find an authentic experience. Seoul Jung fits the bill for a interesting dining experience.
It is best to order many dishes and have it in a family style so that everyone can try all different dishes. Seafood noodles is a must! The four of us ordered seafood noodles, kalbi, butterfish and natto bibimpbap. They were all so tasty with full of flavors. The seafood noodles have generous portion of shrimp, mussel, clam, etc and vegetables and the soup had so much flavors. Their new dish, natto bibimbap was also a great healthy food and the kalbi was just superb.
They have great lunch specials and the parking is always free!
Large menu selection with good basic Korean food. Servings are decent portions. Service was also good.
It's a good sign when you are the only diner who does not speak Korean. It was a little hard to order because of the communication issue. It was a little hard to negotiate dinner without a Korean dinner companion. I've had cream barbecue a few times in the past, but it has been more than a decade so I could've used a refresher course. I may have eaten things out of order and embarrassed myself one way but it was absolutely delicious.
We went there for Mother's Day brunch and my entire family absolutely enjoyed ourselves! The service was excellent, the food was exquisite, and the price was very reasonable. Definitely going to return to dine there again. Seoul Jung really made my Mother's Day special!
Great to find a reasonably price dinner in Waikiki with an extremely friendly and helpful staff and excellent quality food.
The decor was horrible but the food was good. Wait staff was cold at first but warmed up and were great.
I'd go again.
This was my first time going to Seoul Jung, so I had no idea how to find the place. After wandering around I discovered that it was actually discreetly hidden inside of a hotel/resort in Waikiki, making it all the more appealing as it had that "solitude" feeling to it. The ambiance and decor of the place were amazing right from the start, and the fact that you could grill your food on the table yourself is always a fun option. Like any good Korean restaurant, lots of side vegetables were given and portion sizes were very generous. When one of our orders got messed up, the staff gladly and quickly corrected their mistake and brought us another helping, fresh and delicious! The service was great and everyone was very friendly. Though it was a bit on the pricy side, it was well worth the cost of everything we got. I would recommend Seoul Jung for a special occasion, maybe an anniversary, or the holiday season like what we did. It is definitely a hidden gem in the world of Korean restaurants.
Food is a lot. Went for $39.99 all you can eat. Services is super good. Meat is a bit salty. I am buzz lol Soju one bottle is $16 hahahha. Nice like This place will come back with a group friends. The sauce is not spicy was expecting more spicy lol...duh but overall it's good experince.
kim yeo is our server she's amazing. The manager also kind come and check on us.
This place is a little hidden (2nd floor of a hotel, little signage), but was definitely worth seeking out. The staff was friendly and the food authentic/delicious. If you're into Korean food, definitely check Seoul Jung out for a break from the Waikiki crowds.
Quiet for conversations, great service, and delicious food with a wide variety of side dishes to go with the main courses. Extensive menu for vegans to carnivores. Wonderful tasting BBQ. Comfortable ambience in a very comfortable hotel setting.
I tried Korean Barbecued Beef - Galbi and it's very juicy and tasty. Best thing is you can enjoy Gimchi with it. One of the best Korean Restaurant near Waikiki Area!
Place is neat located on 2nd floor of the Waikiki Resort Hotel in Koa Ave. My wife had Spicy Tofu soup. It was also great.
Staffs are also kind.
We were looking for an authentic korean BBQ style place and decided to try Seoul Jung. It was perfect with grilling our own meats and vegetables. The food was delicious and the service was very attentive and professional. We will be back again soon for more.
I actually enjoyed eating at this restaurant. The food was good, as was the service.
This place is targetting Korean tourists. Tour guide bring tourists here and get commission, so every service is focused on that purpose.
Go to Seorabul instead if you want to enjoy Korean Food.
The service was excellent. Really liked the stone pot rice dish and kalbi.
Five of us dined here last week as I had three friends visiting from Switzerland who had never tried Korean food. They were a bit skeptical having never tried Korean food but after tasting the pajeon and mandoo as appetizers (and liking them) they were happy to try other dishes. The meats were tender and tasty (I had them cook these themselves which was fun for them) as well the saba and fish jun. They also thought all the side dishes were a nice additional to the main courses. A fun experience for my tourist friends!!!
The restaurant was nice, clean, and the staff was courteous and friendly. The waitress assisted us with the menu. Her assistance was priceless. Will definetly have lunch there again. Their Easter Brunch buffet was spectacular. T enjoyed the Korean menu mixed with the American menu. Mother's Day Buffet was also good but just a wee bit pricey at $40. It is on my "where to go list" for good Korean/American food.
