Wow the sushi was so fresh and delish !
Food was OUTRAGEOUS
Very tasty and artistically prepared food – – just wonderful
Amazing food and drinks. The sake selection and recommendations were spot on. The sushi was fresh and very very tasty. We got the Omakase and it was well worth it. We got a table inside. The space is small and well spaced for these Covid times.
great experience. special roll are wonderful

Went there for restaurant week. Food was amazing! Will be back for their regular menu. Foie nigiri was incredible. I typically don’t like uní but they made me a believer with their crab pasta. My friend ordered the omakase option...looked beautiful and tasted even better. Just and all around thumbs on food and service.
No restaurant week's menu during restaurant week.
Food are fresh but just so so.
Great service. Amazing food. Delicious, flavorful, beautiful presentation. Definitely a hidden gem.
Every dish we had was too salty in my opinion.
Salmon sushi has 2 long bones, low level mistakes. But the replacement was nice. Overall nice. Jumbo oyster felt too thick with uni though
Sushi is excellent. I frequently eat at Japanese restaurants in NYC. I also travel to Japan with some regularity. The sushi at SenYa is top notch quality, with creativity and fusion added, and beautifully presented, as well. The only disappointment (and the sole reason for the 4-star overall) was the absence of red wine (they only offer white wine in addition to the Japanese drinks and their excellent Japanese beer selection). Given that red meat, duck, pork belly, and fatty sushi (e.g., salmon) are on the menu, one would expect to also find red wine (by the glass and bottle). A person from our party only drinks red wine and would have enjoyed dinner more with a red wine glass.
Great food definitely
Great food
very good sushi at a reasonable price-- get the charashi great deal with many small bowls. Also Uni specialist
Fresh and varied selection of fish, interesting specials. The Chirashi is now on my list of top 5 such dishes in the country.
This is the best sushi I have had in the City. Super fresh, and inventive use of ingredients. The waitstaff are very attentive and friendly. Took my partner here for his birthday and they surprised him with a free watercake for dessert! The place is easy to walk past and miss entirely, so I'm so happy we discovered it!
Wonderful meal
Tiny nice Japanese restaurant. Every dish is very refined. Great for small group dining.
This place is fantastic! The sushi/sashimi is great and the fusion inspired dishes are delicious! I highly recommend the beef tartar with bone marrow and the chirashi.
We came for our anniversary and specifically ordered the chirashi that was popular. Both our sushi sets and chirashi had similar ingredients, but the tuna specifically was not fresh enough. The cooked and seared fish were nice though. Please check the raw fish. Service was good though.
I believe most other reviews of this restaurant are fake
Fantastic food and very pleasant service!
The food is really amazing. The sushi is very good. The cooked dishes as well. However you really have to fix the flooring. The floor looks horrible and makes the restaurant look cheap, old and careless. It is not good to have a restaurant that looks bad when you eat sushi. You wonder if the fish is fresh and if they really pay attention to clean cooking etc. You can redo the floor in one day for $1.99 per square foot from Home Depot.
The duck liver sushi is a must have!
The evening did not start out well. We drove over an hour to get there and discovered that they were already sold out of their two signature dishes, which is why we went in the first place. But they quickly redeemed themselves. The food is AMAZING!!! If you like sea urchin and fois gras, they have made some of the most innovative dishes i have ever had. Their Chawanmushi is second to none, and the uni, ikura yuba dish tasted like it came from the best kaiseki in Kyoto. The beef tartar with the bone marrow was absolutely brilliant and beautiful.
The restaurant is tiny and very understated. You would never expect the cuisine to be on the level that it is. The waitress was lovely and she did her best to suggest items after we learned that they were out of the fois gras sushi, but they are a bit understaffed. There was only one person handling all of the tables and I do not think that it was enough.
I cannot wait to go back again and try those dishes I missed, but next time I will call and confirm their availability in advance.
Best sushi in nyc. Amazing service and amazing food.
Delicious fresh sushi/sashimi/oysters! Great service to top. Highly recommended.
Impeccable all around. Exquisite quality sushi, kind customer care, clean. Meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent sashimi and service. Love the presentation. Definitely would come back.
I highly recommend their chirashi!
as good a Japanese food experience as you can find
Really loved how humble and calm this place was, while serving delectable food!
There were three of us dining. We basically took turns selecting three dishes for all to share which we did 4 or 5 times. The waiter adjusted the portions to accommodate. All dishes were terrific. I was partial to the Foie gras. The sushi was also very good. Go!
It was delicious!
A premium and premium-priced experience, so therefore exactly es expected and excellent in execution.
Horrible experience
Great service and food was great
The food is very good. Everything with sea urchin is highly recommended!
Exquisite, authentic (some from Japan) sushi. Omakase was served at our table in 2 stages ensuring freshness. Serene ambiance and service. Can't do much better in an intimate Japanese resto. Went for a birthday for husband who spent 4 months in Japan when he was 15.
