Sens is French for the word meaning "Sense," which refers to the faculties of sight, sound, smell, and taste that humans perceive this as stimuli originating from the body inside and out.

At Sens we love the process of cooking and its end result, complete happiness. Our inspiration is that of the Mediterranean with its diverse cultures and cuisines. Our goal is not to redefine or reinvent their cuisine but rather to refine and create delicious and beautiful food. We use only the finest local ingredients and exotic spices to elevate our classic and modern techniques. Our destination is and will always be the same, to develop and perfect the flavor, fragrance, texture and composition of each dish while creating a unique and unforgettable experience.

Best thing about Sens is the view and the ambiance. Wait staff is attentive. This time the chicken salad was light on the amount of chicken — and they serve no bread with the meal — so I left hungry. But all and all a pleasant place.

Always good to hangout here. It gets busy during dinner time. There is a quiet room and lively ambiance option where all the crowds are.

Service was attentive and first rate. The menu contained something of interest for everyone. The specials were enticing as well. Our food was well prepared and promptly presented. It was a beautiful day and a memorable lunch for old friends.

Accommodation was great, lovely table with a view however the service was sub par. The server was absent minded and frazzled and our food / courses were so spaced out we even wondered if we were still ordering food.

Service was GREAT.
I love the Fatoush salad.
my friend had the ceasar salad - made with frizze(sp) lettuce - a little strange
wonderful complementary cake with candle for birthday desert.

It's not often I spend $80 for lunch on a Tuesday. However, it was my husband's birthday and a special occasion. While hostesses made a comment to each other about a birthday at the table, there was no recognition from our server. I'm not expecting anything for free, but an acknowledgment would be nice when we're paying a high price for a casual lunch.

We went to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. They took excellent care of us and the whole experience was outstanding. The view and ambience are hard to beat.

Fabulous as always, however, my favorite dish- the fattoush with chicken breast, has been ruined!! The salad was soggy, and the beautiful huge white chicken breast is no longer! Instead the side of the salad dish was piled with tons of ugly chopped dark meat! Really a let down, as this is the dish I specifically come here for. Also, the spread dish is now reduced to two spreads instead of 3, and not enough bread, had to ask for more. Too bad. Will still come for ambiance and beautiful bar, but really sad about the salad!!

Fatoosh salad was particularly good & generous. 3 of us included add one (chicken, shrimp, falafel). Made for a great meal. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, & professional. Quiet enough that we could conduct business. Will definitely return.

Sens was quiet, but we were there at 2:30 pm - just after the lunch crowd, and before the bustling cocktail crowd (we returned at 6 pm for drink on the fabulous outdoor patio - what a crowd!). Elias our server was outstanding - thank you for your suggestions and bringing us additional spices that you thought would complement our meal. Food was fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and hit the spot after a very long day of traveling. Wish we were closer so that we could return more often!

Sens is a great place to eat - the food is delicious, and you can go as healthy (or not) as you want. But even more than that, it's a *remarkable* place to bring gusts who are visiting SF because of the amazing views. So: very tasty and well-priced meal, and priceless vistas to the bay, bridge, Ferry Building...

I've worked in Downtown SF for 20 years and this was my first time at Sen's! Great spot for a special occassion lunch as it's more than what I would want to spend for an everyday lunch. Easy to get Noon reservations. I had the paella. Umm, my clams were missing. The dish was tasty but pretty bland. I wished it had more flavors and spices; all I could taste were the tomatoes/roasted red peppers. My friend got the lamb burger. She always gets the lamb burger. I'll have to try that next time. The Medjool Date Cake was delicious!

My Fiance and I were celebrating the one year of anniversary of meeting on Saturday, and I was going to take her to the Punchline for a show. I decided to go to Sens as it is in the same neighborhood. GREAT Choice! Our food was spot on, and the service was perfect. HIGHLY Recommend.

The food and cocktails were amazing. Would highly recommend, particularly if it is sunny because of the lovely deck. Would have been good to have slightly more vegetarian options, at my friend didn't have name options.

I used to take clients to Sens for business lunches (and it was great), but it has been about 6 months since the last time I was there. A business meeting came up in the neighborhood of Sens last week and I didn't think twice about it; just booked the reservation. Unfortunately... the food was terrible. My guest ordered the octopus and was unable to cut through it. I ordered the lavash wrap and it looked beautiful (and HUGE) but it was disappointing at best. Both meals were pretty much inedible. We both gave up and opted to wrap up our meeting early. Flagging down a waiter to get the check was a challenge, but we finally managed to pay the bill and leave. I was horribly embarrassed to have talked up this place to a client and then have it fail so miserably.

Unparalleled view of Ferry Building and Bay Bridge. Night time lighting of each is best imho. Ordered coursed servings from appetizer menu, tapas style. So glad we did it that way. Awesome flavors. Order stuffed apricots everytime, a favorite. Also had English peas, octopus, Fallal salad. Attractively served and plated. Will definitely do this again! Tip: Ask for window seating.

Excellent spot for business lunch. Convenient location, spacious dining room with a view of the ferry building and bay bridge. Sort of Cal-mediterrean cuisine with excellent flatbread. Had the octopus, salmon and paella. Good portions for the price. Service was very attentive and dishes arrived timely.
