    Sens' best feature is the view and interior decor. The restaurant works best for lunch. Dinner is loud and quality not always the best.

    It is happy hour even if you are not looking for happy hour dining. The service was in a hurry. The plates were almost gone before finishing. Not our kind of place.

    Restaurant almost empty, only one waiter in dining room. Dining chair backs are cheap vinyl leather and are peeling extensively which looks very tacky. Gnocchi on menu gummy, sitting in a pool of oil. Very unappetizing.

    The food here is always delicious. However, the service was non existent. We had to track down a waiter after sitting at the table for over 15 minutes, just to put in a drink order.

    The place sits in a beautiful location which is lovely especially on a pleasant weather night, looking at the Bay Bridge, Ferry bldg, etc. The restaurant and staff were very accommodating to our large party, but they kept bringing food to the wrong people which forced confusion and us ordering more and more :) and they missed bringing the dish to the birthday girl, which at the end turned out ok, but could be even better than it was. Everything we ordered from the menu (almost every item there) was delicious and beautiful. Thank you, Sens!

    Excellent food, fun to share small dishes as well as entrees. Very helpful staff (we were late for our reservation, no problem.) Highly recommended.

    I am so glad Sens has survived to the pandemic! I have been a regular this restaurant for years. My office used to be in the Embarcadero and my house still is nearby. This recent visit was a lunch with a coworker from France who remembered the place and wanted to eat there again. We ordered the fattoush salad and the Mediterranean mezé. When the dishes arrived I realized that the recipe for the mezé had changed and the hummus and other delicious mixes were now served with… focaccia instead of pita bread. I told the server how disappointed I was as it does not go well at all. The focaccia bread is soaked in olive oil and will overpower the nuances of the mixes in the mézé. Also it made the dish very high in carbs. Elias was our server and he went out of his way to make it right: First he offered to bring cut vegetables instead of focaccia to dip into the mixes. We accepted. He took the dish back to the kitchen. Ten minutes later, Elias comes back and the chef had made the pita bread from scratch!!! He also brought the promised raw vegetables. It was way more than we expected and we did not know how to thank the chef and Elias who had been so attentive to our feedback. We ate the mézé and were so content! The food and the experience made our day! My coworker from France was amazed at the customer service. I who live in the US was too!

    The service was quite slow. There was an event going on and we were originally sat at a very loud table. We were moved to a quieter area and sadly missed out on the beautiful views. I had high expectations but the food was average. The octopus and halibut was overcooked. I would return for cocktails and the patio view, but I wouldn’t recommend Sens for a full dinner experience.

    Reserved a table for 8 for a group of family friends visiting San Francisco. The food was great (the steak and paella were both delicious), service was efficient, and the views were beautiful. Would recommend to others and would bring SF visitors again!

    The salad I had seemed to be missing things - I’ve had it a hundred times. The si. Was super strong and had to ask for the umbrella shade to be moved. Then when the sun was hovering over a different table their waiter moved out umbrella to accommodate them but left me back in the sun - very in considerate. It took a long time to finally have our order taken. I just felt like we weren’t a scheduled table.

    It was really great food but the waiters never cleared any dirty dishes or glasses and they started to pile up leading up to the entree . We actually put them on the table next to us as it was free so we would have enough room for the paella. You would think as they bring more food they would clear things out but they didn’t :(

    Service was fantastic! Super friendly and attentive! Beautiful views, and delicious food. I booked this for my family dinner when they came into town, and we have very different restrictive diets in the mix (gluten free, pescatarian, etc), but everyone was more than delighted! It was the perfect place! Thank you!

    Sens has never disappointed us. Our server Elias was as gracious and attentive as ever. Very knowledgeable about the food. It is always a pleasure to have him take care of us every visit. We always request him to be our server because he makes us feel welcome and is really the best. The food is delicious as always. Lamb Burger is lovely as usual...only topping we do miss is the chutney. The desserts are always to die for! We will return....Sens you never fail at excellence.

    A hidden gem...did not know this restaurant was existed! It's upstairs in Embarcadero 4 in the corner. The food was prepared and presented beautifully. The flavors were spot on. We went late on a Friday there was a small happy hour crowd still lingering which is always a good sign. Service was excellent too. Perfect combination of attentiveness and not going overboard. The paella was my favorite dish; we also shared lamb sliders, breads/spreads (a home run), chicken kabobs (juicy and tender) and the butter salad. I will be back. Highly recommend!
