Selva Grill Ratings and Reviews
Selva is consistently good....delicious food, lovely preparation, very good service. It’s a bit loud, but I think that’s the case with most Sarasota restaurants. We are repeat customers because of this consistency. Truly one of our favorite Sarasota restaurants!
Tuna appetizer special was outstanding tonight (watch for the jalapeño!) . Chopped salad remains consistently excellent (thank you for splitting without charge). The octopus was chewy, but flavorful. Excellent food well presented. Noise level is deafening (well beyond lively). So much so that if we cannot done outside next visit, we’ll probably choose to dine elsewhere. Shame as the food was good.
Every time, yes every time we dine at Selva its so darn good, I'm talking really good all the time... a rare find. Think we've been lucky to sneak in there once a month for these past many years. Every time - the dinning room is well kept, the staff hits it out of the park and the food keeps bring us back of more.
Some of our favorite small plates: All of the Ceviches, the Tiradito, the Chicken Spring Roll, Pulpo Olivo. So many small plates I sometimes order a Spanish Caesar and a Crab Napoleon as an entree which they always plate very nicely as an entree.
For the main course I've never had any of the steaks though many of our guests have and always with positive comments. I've tried all the current seafood entree's except the Inca Cod. My go to favorites Snapper, Paella, Salmon and Tuna... if not in the mood for seafood the Braised Short Ribs are always excellent.
Desserts ordered less seldom given the meal is so filling but, with a small group where the spoons are plentiful... I'll be ordering the Bread Pudding. Have also enjoyed Selva late in the evening when the dinner crowd is almost gone... a great spot for a copy of coffee and something sweet.
Selva never disappoints. The civiche is always on point, absolutely delicious. The cocktails are amazing and the presentation is gorgeous. The service is impeccable. I cannot say enough good things about Selva. Always a favorite stop when in Sarasota. Love it!
This is a wonderful restaurant with attentive service and fantastic cuisine. Wonderful paella, seafood dishes, etc. Great martini menu! We celebrated our anniversary and were extremely happy we chose Selva. They have a nice covered patio on the street too if it's nice weather.
We have been to Selva Grill several times. I love their Tapas menu. It is so interesting, the quality is excellent, and it is presented very nicely. I have a hard time making up my mind since there are so many interesting choices. Between tapas and a salad it makes a great meal for me. My husband always has an entree, and the seared tuna is his favorite. Service is always good, the wine list is great. It is very convenient to park in the garage up the street and then attend Florida Studio. We usually go to Selva Grill before a show at FST or Van Wezel. It always has a crowd so you should make a reservation. The prices are in the upper bracket, but normal for a high end restaurant in Sarasota.
The food and service were great. My husband and I shared a ceviche and then had paella and tuna, respectively. We would have all three again. The triologia ceviche was crisply flavored and a great way to sample three different ceviches. The seafood paella had plenty of seafood and the risotto was not overcooked and the tuna a la parilla with accompanying wok-style vegetables were perfectly prepared. If anything, the entree portions were too large for us to finish. We also enjoyed the pisco sours, which are not easy to find. We would highly recommend Selva Grill to anyone seeking true Peruvian food.
