Selva Grill Ratings and Reviews
Selva Grill is my go to restaurant in town when I have family and friends visiting. This was girls night out and between our server Colin and the other gentlemen helping him we had an amazing time; plus tried probably half the menu. The food, service and ambiance has always been amazing. Only thing to note was my duck was definitely more med-well than med-rare however when we were having such a phenomenal evening it didn't matter in the least bit. Well worth every $$ you spend.
Saturday evening we had a pre-theater dinner at Selva's and the meal was outstanding. It was the night of the Sarasota Holiday Parade and they had warned us three days before to leave early to adjust to the traffic. Excellent advice. The meal was exceptional. My wife had two apps, the jumbo lump crab cake and jumbo sea scallops and I had the seafood paella. All three were conversation stoppers. In addition to taste they arrived as works of art, with the chef taking care to offer the meal with a presentation flair. We have many excellent restaurants in Sarasota and this is one of the best.
Have been to Selva Grill many times before. One of my favorite restaurants. The food as usual is outstanding, however the service was not attentive to our table despite the fact that the total check was around $400 and the restaurant was not very busy. When a restaurant mandate a 20% tips for a table of 6, it must ensure that the service provided is super good. Tips are not a guaranteed earnings like a salary. Waiter has to really deserve it. I refused to pay the 20% and left only 10%. I was even generous!
Selva Grill did not disappoint. The menu has plenty of Peruvian staples, lots of cevichés, and a lot of creative entrées as well. I was honestly just amazed with the flavor profiles in the dishes. I had the Mixto ceviche to start, also a bouillabaisse, and the sea scallops tapas plate. They were all fantastic! I only visit Sarasota occasionally but I actually thought that this restaurant would make a good reason for a trip down!
We were very desappointed with service and quality of food. They are supposed to be a Peruvian restaurant but they don’t have many of the most popular and main traditional dishes. We would’ve overlooked the overly expensive prices but not with so many flaws.
Food was amazing. Service Joanna Perfect
Hostess ?? Fabulous
I can see why this Resturant is in the top 10
Noise is a problem but food and service make up for it
They give you lots of food!!!!! So you can’t walk out hungry
Also a lovely dessert for our anniversary 😘
A do not miss dining experience , great food prepared to perfection, service is the greatest , very attentive by a wonderful serving staff, wine list is extensive with a great selections, I can see why they were busy on a recent Monday but we were never rushed and had a very enjoyable evening not rushed to turn tables. A return trip is well worth a return visit
Without fail, Selva impresses. Noticed more drinks on the cocktail menu. Noticed legacy dishes were spruced up, and of course the price as well. But really, the prices are equal to or less than many other fine dining spots where the food cannot compete with the Selva experience. My longtime and continuing favorite in Sarasota, the go to place for out-of-towners and locals.
My husband I were in town for a few days. We had heard good reviews of Selva and it surpassed our expectations. I’m still talking about how good the meal was. The Crab Napoleon and Scallop/sweet potato appetizers were particularly delicious and my husband loved the salmon entree.
Can’t wait til next time!
Selva is consistently good....delicious food, lovely preparation, very good service. It’s a bit loud, but I think that’s the case with most Sarasota restaurants. We are repeat customers because of this consistency. Truly one of our favorite Sarasota restaurants!
Tuna appetizer special was outstanding tonight (watch for the jalapeño!) . Chopped salad remains consistently excellent (thank you for splitting without charge). The octopus was chewy, but flavorful. Excellent food well presented. Noise level is deafening (well beyond lively). So much so that if we cannot done outside next visit, we’ll probably choose to dine elsewhere. Shame as the food was good.
