Sunday brunch club with our grown children
Quiet location, food is Excellent, great ambience. Overall a great night
Food was delicious
Service was great
Excellect menu choices. Fresh ingredients. Lovely experience.
If you live or work anywhere near Heritage Drive there's not a lot of upscale restaurants to choose from. The Selkirk Grille is kind of like a hidden gem. The food and service are great and unlike many places it's quiet. The Gasoline Alley Museum is a must-see if you have time.
Food and ambiance exceeded our expectations! Would return.
WE have gone to several dinner and a movie at Heritage park and are never disapppointed. The meals are outstanding, the service is amazing and love the movies.!
The whole evening was very pleasant. The only comment on the food is that we were not asked how we wanted our steaks cooked. My wife prefers rare, hers was closer to medium. The serving staff were very gracious and offered to replace it, but, because of timing, my wife opted to eat what she had been served.
The movie was shown in the Gasoline Alley museum, and this was a treat for the guys. We had all been there before, but it never grows old. The technical quality of the movie, video and audio was quite satisfactory.
It is a nice place and has nice ambiance but the food was bland.
We have been to the restaurant a few times. The ability to park has become too cumbersome.
As a city event destination apparently Calgaryparking is not interested in helping the Restaurant survive and thrive, they only want your $5.00 for parking in a big empty lot. The parking must be reviewed and made patron friendly. We will look elsewhere for a dinning spot and that is not the fault of the serving staff.
Great service, awesome menu, excellent atmosphere. A classy but not pretentious place, wait staff are extremely professional and attentive, surroundings are great.
We were looking for a special place to take our son out for dinner before he left for uni. The setting was warm and relaxed (no TVs - yeah). We were able to enjoy a lovely meal with knowledgeable attentive staff to guide us through the menu. The portion sizes were reasonable (not too big) so we were able to indulge in dessert. The food was outstanding. It was great to be able to enjoy a relaxing meal and not have to yell during our conversation in order to be heard over music and TVs. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Drinks menu was very good. I especially liked the fact that the menu reflected the local region. It would be a very good restaurant to take visitors.
The ambience is romantic and beautiful and the food was amazing. We will certainly go again!
This was our second time at Selkirk Grille......we have not been disappointed with the entire experience.....food was excellent and beautifully presented, service was outstanding, great ambiance. We appreciate the quiet venue.
We'll be back. LaVerna
Special Valentine’s dinner that was very yummy and nice atmosphere. Server was a bit inexperienced in our opinion given the high level of the venue, but friendly and pleasant. Would recommend this Resteraunt for couples celebrating any and all occasions.
The taste was really good, don’t get me wrong here. But the wording in the menu, to me, was very misleading. The menu stated “whole beef tenderloin and beef short rib”. While I did get a very nice short rib, I only received 1 somewhat thin cut of beef tenderloin, a far cry from a “whole”. While I understand that serving a complete tenderloin would be too much, more than one piece would have been great. Also, the veggies, especially the potatoes, were very substandard in quality and portion size.
I have had much better and fuller plates from places like “broken plate”, for half the price I paid.
Will I come back ? Not likely.
The best meal I have had out in forever! Everything was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and tasted wonderful!
Amazing food but the wait staff seemed to be in a hurry to have you proceed to the next course and get you out the door, even though the restaurant was nearly empty.
Great food, professional wait staff and a wonderful relaxing setting.
Excellent Food and drink at a reasonable price for this quality of dinning.
Was looking forward to dining here, and left pretty disappointed. Waitstaff seemed uninterested and food was terrible. Won’t be returning
My wife and I recently dined at Selkirk Grille, our first time there.
The occasion was our anniversary, and we wanted a quiet, comfortable place to have a good chat. The service was first-rate, and the food was excellent. We were also surprised at the value - you can dine well here for significantly less than at a comparable restaurant downtown.
We'll be back.
Our server was excellent, the food was excellent. There were 5 of us there and all of us enjoyed our food and wine immensely.
I can't wait to go to Selkirk again
My wife went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. We shared the 20 oz. ribeye platter. It came with an assortment of vegetables. Both the steak and the vegetables were done perfectly.
A bonus it was half price wine night (Thursdays).
Wonderful 7 course New Year's Eve dinner with friends, amazing food and nice wine parings and professional delivery and service.
We had an absolutely lovely evening. The dinner menu was fabulous and (sorry I have forgotten his name) our waiter did an excellent job!
Great service, amazing food and good wine. We will be back.
The service was really slow, but the food was fantastic! We both had the pulled bison burger and it was absolutely incredible. The cocktails were yummy too, albeit a bit pricey at $9 for 1.5 oz.
My favorite restaurant and a go-to for lunch or dinner. Pricier but worth it :) and the staff are wonderful!! The dinner and a movie is so fun - looking forward to next years line-up for Christmas!
I was very pleasantly surprised by the really awesome food at a fraction of the price I would have paid at many downtown eateries. It was very good value. The food was very tasty and the plates were put together with thought and style.
The service was not very good. 15 mins after we were seated we were greeted and our drink order was taken. Only half of the drinks came, had to ask for rest.
Took awhile to get our order taken.
Had to ask for coffee refill.
Our waiter came to check on us when we were almost finished our meals.
The food was good, but portions are small.
The atmosphere is great.
This is the second time I have been here and both times the food was good, but service was bad.
I usually love coming here and it was one of my favourites. I haven’t been in a very long time so I was excited to come back. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. We were seated at what has to be the worst table in the entire restaurant, which I could see past if everything else was superb, but it was not. The service was so incredibly slow, I thought they forgot about us numerous times. They weren’t neglectful, just very overwhelmed and spread thin (which took away from the relaxing vibes completely) The risotto was so undercooked, it was crunchy in the middle. I understand Christmas time is busy for restaurants, but there still needs to be standards and consistencies. Maybe hire more staff, or don’t take more reservations than can be handled? Anyhow, we left hungry and tired from waiting and disappointed.
Our small Christmas party for 10 was hosted by Selkirk Grille.
- Really nice atmosphere. Outside there was Christmas Music. Inside was decorated nicely.
- Our waiter was friendly, and knowledgeable.
- Nice Menu options for Dinner.
-Cinnamon pudding bread was really good for dessert
- Allergy issues- I think the ratings could have been a bit better, but our individual experience was tainted a bit by the fact that my celiac (Gluten free) wife, was very sick the next night due to something she ate. I know they take this seriously so it was likely just a one off mistake. I called them afterwards and let them know. They mentioned if I were to join them again, they might be able to compensate in some way. When this has happened in the past, usually they offered to reimburse part of the meal, or send a gift card. I wasn't looking for this, but it would have been nice to see them go out of their way to try to make it right. My wife was very careful and only ate foods which were exclusively said to be GF.
-The service was a slow. However, they were hosing a very large event the same night, so it's understandable.
-Food was pretty good. I felt some foods lacked a bit of flavor, but overall was okay.
I'd be willing to try it again, the venue certainly has potential, but was slightly disappointing overall on our specific night. My wife may have a hard time trusting given her allergic reaction, though.
Very good beef tenderloin, but waiter was very busy, so had no time to check to see if we needed anything. I had to grab him how stupid by to get some horseradish, and we are also not served bread with our mail. Beautiful place rather crowded and the table for two was quite small.
I would come back just because the food was so good. But more stuff is needed to look after that many people.
Very limited menu. Average food. Sixth annual Christmas lunch...we will find a different restaurant for the seventh.
Always a treat, with a unique offering on the menu. We go once or twice a year and have never been disappointed.
Always enjoy the tailored menu for dinner and a movie night at heritage park. The apple celeriac soup was delicious and the turkey roulade dinner perfect.
The service was wonderful and staff was friendly. We enjoyed it very much
Very good menu and wine/ beer list. Service is attentive and the food is well prepared and presented.
We have eaten here 4 times and the food has always been consistently good, service good, great place to dine as a couple or bring friends it will not disappoint.
