Friendly service, fresh delicious well portioned food.
Outstanding customer service and food. Highly recommended!
Outstanding food, service and ambience. Gluten free options are available. The fries are no longer the thick, delicious fries that were available during the summer, but they were OK.
Delicious food, friend staff, socially distanced and COVID safe.
It was way too expensive for what we got. The portions were very small and charging extra for additional popcorn when we were told popcorn was included and we only got 1/2 full bags was very disappointing. Furthermore we bought pop while dining but when we went for the movie portion we were told we had to REPURCHASE more pop and that refills don’t transfer. What? So you could make 2$ more? That seems overly petty and pretty cheep considering all in we spent over 170$ there for 2 people. I was not impressed in the slightest
I would like to extend to you our most sincere apologies regarding your experience you had in our restaurant. Thank you for bringing this matters to our attention and it will be discussed further among our staff.
Excellent from beginning to end
From the Arts all excellently prepared and presented. On top of this, they have a decently stocked bar, to find that accompanying drink to go with your lunch or dinner. On top of all this, their use of locally sourced food and herbs grown right on site make it a big plus.
Thank Jeff you very much for your kind review and we will be happy to see you again.
Having never been to Heritage Park before after living in Calgary for 4 years we decided to visit and booked in for lunch at the Selkirk too. We were done a little earlier than expected at the park but they were able to seat us. I found it surprising that at lunch time on Thanksgiving Sunday it was very quiet. Service was great. Husband and I had the fish and chips. It wasn’t anything amazing but it was tasty. I wish I’d worn a sweater as it was pretty chilly. But otherwise it was a nice visit and the prices were really reasonably for a nice looking restaurant. I would eat there again. Thank you.
Thank you for your review. We are very happy you had a great experience in our restaurant. We would like to see you again and dine with us.
Lovely atmosphere and great service! We’ll be back.
Very thoughtful staff. Great to be able to sit outdoors. Lovely lunch out!
We chose to go there because they advertised a Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday, Oct 10/20. But when we got there we were told we could only order off the luncheon menu. This was NOT what the website said. We could have gone to any fast food drive-in and had the same meal. We were VERY disappointed and we were NOT the only ones to complain about the same issue.
Dear Karen, We appreciate you taking time and to provide us with your feedback. We are sorry for your Saturday's experience. We value our customers and it is important for us to give you an exceptional dinning experience. We would like to invite you back to our restaurant to restore your confidence in our service standards. You can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 403 268 8607
Date night was excellent. Quiet atmosphere, very good service. Very reasonable costs. We have already booked for next week!
Service and ambience was great. It was calming to dine outside on a fall weather. Food could be a little more surprising. It was the same as every other semi-upscale dining place. Dessert was not as good as we hoped.
Menu was not as varied as it used to be. Prices lower , but would like to see something exotic on menu.
Other than an unfriendly waiter we had no complaints (I’ll give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt this time). Food was very good as always. Half price bottles of wine on a Saturday night suggest this place is struggling. I would hate to see it close.
As always the Selkirk Grill delivers great food! Glad we went there!
We first were sat in the most rickety old chairs from the 50's. Then we got the wrong order and I never did get salad dressing but balsamic vinegar which was for my girlfriends fries. No condiments were brought.
It’s a great place for lunch if you’re at outdoor seating. Good food , reasonable price . I was hoping they would have daily special but they didn’t have it on Saturday.
We always recommend Selkirk to all of our family and friends. Always great food, service and ambiance. Five stars
Always a great meal. Hidden gem that’s usually nice and quiet.
The ambiance and the service are excellent. My chicken wrap had a lot of stringy greens that I didn’t like. Overall it is a great place to eat.
Food was average at best, especially for the price you pay. Waiter was not attentive, seemed unorganized, we ended up pouring our own wine.
I appreciate your feedback.
High level of cleanliness inspired a sense of confidence and safety. Spacing was excellent and in compliance with pandemic management protocols. I would like to see more variety of Big Rock products, especially Scottish Heavy Ale. The appetizers are fantastic, especially the cured meats and cheese platter. The special was prime rib, and it was truly a special taste sensation with portions that were just right. I wanted cheesecake but was very pleased with the apple strudel desert. I hope we can keep returning for many years to come.
Amazing food and service. For sure We will be back soon.
Best kept secret in Calgary. Reserve early as the sittings fill up quickly. Salmon could be less done. Crab cakes are ok, however the presentations are very good. I thought the fish and chips were very good. Wine is very good selection. Just a few winkles to be ironed and this could be one of the top restaurants in Calgary.
Good remodel of the menu. The service is always fantastic. The schnitzel, New York steak and beet salad were nice additions to the menu.
As always, enjoyed Selkirk House Grille nice to know that there are options of sitting in the patio or indoors as the ambience is beautiful - Had my fav selection of the charcuterie board - terrific presentation with an assortment of cheeses, meat & crackers.
Two of us had salads and we felt the salad could have had more ingredients besides spinach. It was mostly spinach with a few other veggies, not much dressing. I had salmon on top which was delicious and my friend had chicken which she too said was very good. My other friend had soup and didn’t comment.
Thank you very much for your feedback.
Had lunch with an old friend. Service was friendly, prompt and the manager checked on us a couple of times which was a nice touch.
I have to rave about the lamb burger. That was fantastic and I will be back for another one soon.
Absolutely delicious food for Date night. Great staff - very friendly and attentive. A wonderful evening out. We will be excited to come back again soon.
Staff seemed frazzled and disorganized. More alarmingly a random stranger appeared uninvited at our table and was extremely agitated. It appeared he was in some sort of mental crisis. No staff came to our assistance during this 15+ minute exchange. When this troubled man left our table finally, then staff approached to inquire if we were ok. I informed staff that they needed to call 911 because this man needed medical assistance, and to call an ambulance. Staff did not. They stated they had notified security instead. Security officers did not appear nor attempt to assist this troubled man. The whole experience made our visit to Selkirk Grill not a good one. I am not certain I would choose this restaurant next time. Every business can have a bad day, but this particular day was so bad on so many levels.
Please accept our sincere apologies for the experience you had. We never before have had an interaction of this kind with a Park visitor. The staff were following protocol by first notifying our internal Security. However, this unprecedented incident has led us to review our procedures in an effort to make improvements. We recognize that this incident negatively impacted your dining experience. Please contact me directly at 403-268-8607 to discuss the matter further. Selkirk Grille Manager
We had lunch on the patio on a beautiful afternoon. Our waitress was very attentive, food was excellent. We all had the lobster/shrimp wraps and one of our party was very easily accomodated for gluten allergy. This is our third time here and we have not been disappointed.
Our waiter, Donald was superb. We decided to try the special 3 course menu and was pleasantly surprised how good the food quality and display was. Overall very good dining experience.
We love the atmosphere, food is awesome, quite, you can have a conversion, very calming and peaceful place to enjoy your meal, thank you.
One adult and two teenagers. Something nice on the menu for every one. Waitress Shelly was awesome. Will return again soon.
Mostly full on a Saturday evening as we celebrated our wedding anniversary; the service was never rushed, the food excellent and the staff friendly. Selkirk Grill's unique decor and times-gone-by ambience added to an enjoyable special evening for the two of us.
Our window table allowed us to enjoy a view to Heritage Square as the old style lighting came on with dusk.
We had a very enjoyable time and the food was the right portions. Very relaxing and we did not feel rushed.
Really enjoyed our first visit. Servers were attentive but not overbearing. Food was fresh and tasty. Will definitely return
Thank you Donna for your kind review. We will bee happy to see you again.
The best patio. No traffic noise, responsibly distanced, great service
We really appreciate your taking time and share your experience with us.
