Excellent food and great options if you don’t care for meat
Great place in Back Bay. We had a great time, would definitely go back.
Outstanding ! This is fast becoming my favorite place to eat. The food is spectacular.
The food was great - but it was limited to appetizers and entrees.. We were surprised to find after we finished our entrees that they don't offer dessert nor coffee. They have an very good wine list - especially by the glass.
Tables were small and close together and the high noise level uncomfortable. Service was fine.
If one just is interested in outstanding seafood, this is a great place. Prices are high.
Select Oyster is a Back Bay gem. The selection of fresh oysters varies seasonally as do certain other menu items. You can never go wrong with the whole bream.
Great place and great food. The quality of the food is high and the wine and beers are good.
Overpriced and food not so great. Additionally, my friend was constantly bumped by wait staff throughout his meal. will not return
Fish was undercooked - flavors great
Awesome birthday dinner! Food and service were great.
Very nice occasion. Crew works very hard to make the experience special
The food was very good, but it is a very cramped space. Our table was built for two people, but we had a reservation for 4. The food was delicious and the service was good, but the cramped conditions kept it from being a great experience.
Amazing seafood….. great service….. fast. Drinks excellent. Noisy. But can’t wait to go back!
Food was good but the menu is very limited
A comfortable neighborhood restaurant. Our fresh seafood dishes were perfectly cooked, and the oyster selection was delicious and fun to compare. We sat at the bar and found our bartender/server to be friendly, unhurried, and knowledgeable about the menu items. We recommend highly.
We love the food here, which is always delicious and the service is very friendly and professional. We would go here more often but the prices seem way too high for the very nice but casual restaurant it is. One could eat at other very nice restaurants for almost half of the cost. Quality is very good but the value to price ratio is not there.
my favorite spot in Boston. Love everything about it.
Love the extensive selection of oysters!
Excellent. Service was top notch also.
We stopped in the an appetizer and drinks. Loved the grilled octopus. It was done perfectly.
Great neighborhood spot. Cozy with a small menu but by far beat seafood in boston. My favorite spot.
An excellent choice for my birthday dinner!!!
$48 lobster roll. All time record high that I have not seen anywhere.
Crazy expensive lunch. 1 dozen oysters, 1 order of lobster roll, 1 order of Bouillabaisse, 2 glasses of Chablis
Cost - with tip included $225
Excellent food, service, and ambience. The food is not cheap, but it’s high quality and presented with friendliness and professionalism.
Great atmosphere and delicious food. The staff was engaging and so nice. Love this place and highly recommend!
good food - oysters were great and so was the bouillabaisse. Its a very small space so we sat outside and it was too cold.
The crudo special was spectacular, the oysters lovely, and the cocktails delicious. Highly recommended!
Great food, great view from the window seat, great waitstaff!
Our meal was exceptional. High quality, fresh ingredients. We came to Boston to visit our college student daughter and brought her here as a special treat. We could not have been happier with our choice. Yes, it’s pricey, but oh, so good. If you’re looking to splurge on amazing seafood, this is your place.
Very good food. Super pricey for modest amount. Excellent oysters.
Delicious food, lovely restaurant and super lively on a Thursday night!
The service has really become poor. It used to be such a great place! We walked out with a bill of $450, for just 3 people and only a couple drinks. The wait staff was very rude, especially for such a sneakily expensive restaurant.
Last vacation lunch
Boston is a 6+ hour flight from SFO - and real foodies know the best way to manage that long haul. One of the great joys of Boston dining is to gobble down a heaving plate of Lobster Spaghettini at Neptune Oyster before hitting Logan for the United 6:15 flight. When we read last month that Michael Serpa of Neptune fame had opened a new restaurant with his wife in Back Bay, we immediately booked a table and enjoyed our second best dinner that week in Boston - OK, the best dinner was Fenway Franks sitting behind the Red Sox dugout for the ALCS game 3 - but I digress..... Select Oyster is simply a seafood lovers dream come true. The cozy brick-walled dining room, gleaming bar and warm staff make you feel immediately tucked in and ready for whatever arrives at table. And you want to order every last thing - from the perfect oysters to all the wonderful Spanish dishes - mussels, octopus, clams. The Lobster Salad sounds like a perfect lunch - but for dinner I chose the Arctic Char which was a magnificently orchestrated dish that just hinted at autumn. The wine list is also spot-on delicious, but don't shy away from a perfect martini - they make 'em here. Walking to and from the Liberty Hotel through Back Bay was also a delight - particularly on an Indian Summer night in Boston, with the brownstone stoops decorated with gourds and pumpkins. Select Oyster happily claims a new spot on my Don't Miss While in Boston dining list.
Our meal at Select was outstanding. Delicious oysters, tuna tartare, swordfish and sea bream. Shout out for great service to Ben.
Great food and service as always!
Dined there three times now and will go back next week. Really fresh seafood. Tried various things over three times and all are delicious.
Excellent food, great service, loved eating outside. The tower with island creek oysters, shrimp cocktail, crab, sushi was incredible.
