It all was lovely and very tasty. We only encounter a minor disappointment when chewing on a little piece of pistachio shell from our beetroot salad…it happens to everyone and it’s cool, they brought a new salad, BUT our server made a weird comment that made feel like she was suggesting I implanted the shell in the salad. She said: “this is so weird because we use bagged pistachos without shells” I said, “well I can assure you I did not bring it from home”…but she went quiet, which made everything awkward.
The seafood (both raw and main course) and the service were simply outstanding. First time going to Select Oyster Bar, we will be going back there again soon.
Our bartender was superb and very engaging! The food was lovely as always! Spot on as usual!
A lovely time. Our server was so personable. She also suggested a wine option that was perfect. Great food as always.
Amazing food and service, the oysters were awesome.
Bill at the bar is great. Food is terrific.
Another outstanding experience at Select! We have enjoyed trying out the unique dishes on the menu. Vik was great as well offering his best recommendations for wine with our dinner. We will continue to visit Select Oyster again and again.
Service was outstanding and food was good. Nice selection of oysters and great wine options.
Everything about the meal and service was fantastic!
Excellent service on a busy night; servers and host were very helpful. High quality, exquisite seafood dishes, very well prepared and presented. Delightful experience and a wonderful evening.
My go-to place for seafood. I love the bouillabaisse—their best dish, IMO. The ceviche was good too.
We love the food & drinks. The folks that work here are friendly and accommodating. We look forward to returning
New Years Eve
This a great, little restaurant. I live in Boston and eat out a lot. The dishes we all had- several crudo offerings, oysters, octopus and Arctic char - were all impeccable. Nice wine selection too. I especially loved the attentive service without any pressure to rush us out. It is a bit pricy, but the value was equivalent. Definitely will be back soon!
Great meal and service as always. Everything was excellent. I’d recommend staying away from the blue prawns as their in a oil and were hard to peel which made them extra messy.
The Arctic Char was delicious - and the Oysters fresh and succulent! Was a great place for brunch. Tables a little close. Very convenient for SE/Back Bay folks -some garages nearby. Check out Atlantico as well.
Food was amazing! Service was amazing! I am so happy I found this place!
Great little gem tucked into a townhouse off of Newbury Street. We were given the option of bar seating or a table. We chose the latter. The food was delectable. The oysters were fresh and tasty. I had the swordfish and my wife had the bream. We both had daiquiris which added a special touch to our meal. The noise level was a bit high but it was late on Friday night. No worries, the food, drink, and service easily trumped the noise level. Can't wait to get back there.
Had fantastic dinner on Fri night before our concert. Food was excellent, starting with oysters and ending with main course, wine was very good, our server Jose was super--knowledable, personable, attentive. Will be coming back next time in the neighborhood 👍🏻👍🏻!
Everything was perfect.
Got the bouillabaisse, excellent! A little expensive but worth it. Cozy ambiance.
I had a whole bream fish which was fantastic. Oysters were excellent. The swordfish had a few too many ingredients on it. Overall our table of 6 was very happy. Our server gave us an excellent suggestion as to where to go for dessert, as they do not serve coffee or dessert. It made for a fun evening during the holiday season.
Everything was top notch, service was fast and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious! We ordered the Beet salad which was oh so fresh and the Uni crostini was creamy and tasty.
Main course was the Rouchester and was amazing. Oysters were some of the best we’ve had. The salmon crudo was our fave. Super fresh and delicious. The crab salad was also amazing and the buttered lobster was a great complement to a great meal.
Overall outstanding experience, would recommend to any seafood lovers out there =)
This is raw bar paradise. The oysters are the star of the show so don't miss them. However, you also want to leave room for the anchovies on toast, one of the crudos, and the blue crab salad. Be sure and ask for the house made potato chips with that blue crab salad. The service is exceptional and don't be shy to ask for help in picking a perfect bottle of wine to pair with all these delicious seafood delights. The atmosphere is charming but crowded and relativey loud, but you can carve out your own space at the bar and it is surprisingly more intimate/private to sit side-by-side, rather than across from your dining partner. Since they don't offer dessert or coffee, I suggest ending your meal with one of their signature cocktails -- liquid dessert.
Tables are too close to each other and super tiny for 4 people, but the food and service is worth overlooking that.
Select oyster was very good. More of a Diner type setup but incredibly fresh seafood and Seafood Plateau (Tower) was excellent. Small and intimate, menu and food surprised with big tastes. Interesting and odd options on menu will satisfy the curious and adventurous foodie. Seafood was fresh, hot, and delicious
The female bartender was phenomenal. The food was exceptional. And we enjoyed herself immensely. Will definitely be coming back here.
One of the best restaurants in Boston! The chef and staff are outstanding.
Service was spectacular the food was absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to return for another amazing experience.
As always the place delivered an outstanding lunch experience: the food was very good and the wine selection was great. The crudos and the octopus were “to die for”, halibut was outstanding and the bouillabaisse was quite good. And, of course, the service was impeccable.
Our check (service included) came to $300 for two people.
Consistently great service and food. One of the best oyster spots in Boston.
The service from Bill was delightful as well as all of the support staff......however we didn't expect to spend 500 for 4 people. I would say that you must go in with a good wallet, as the wine selection is steep and limited.
I would go back, but be more mindful of the cost next time. Sharing is the way to go, as the meals are very sharable.
The fish was perfectly cooked last time and that was why I recommended friends to come to this restaurant. But this time, the fish was a little overcooked, which was slightly disappointing.
The service was very disappointing. My friends arrived on time and no one brought them to our reserved seats. It was not a busy time. The servers saw them and did not go and bring them to their seats. When we were almost done and were just chatting, a server kept standing near our table, waiting for us to be done, and asked in a very rude tone whether we were done with our food. It was not a pleasant experience.
Please have good service if you are going to automatically charge 20% for it. I don't mind paying for good service, but this was just not it. It is such a shame because I loved the food here.
Excellent service and food. The shrimp cocktail was to die for. We're looking forward to returning. A cute restaurant. We highly recommend hands down.
We loved the food and our server. She gave us wonderful recommendations and her attentiveness and attitude was amazing. I feel badly that I've forgotten her name. Love this restaurant.
Love this place. Always a great choice including for non-seafood items (but don't miss out on the oysters).
Attentive and friendly service, our meals were excellent. I highly recommend the clams in chorizo broth as an appetizer.
Overall a really great restaurant. Service and food were exceptional. One thing to note, for parties of 2, seating is at the bar/counter only even if you have a reservation.
Food was absolutely amazing. Our bartender/server was beyond attentive. My 15 year old daughter and I had such a fantastic lunch. Highly recommend
