Selanne Steak Tavern, owned by Anaheim Duck legend Teemu Selanne and located in a quaint, historical home built in 1934, features an upscale casual neighborhood tavern and a traditional steakhouse. Such a nice place to celebrate a special occasion!!! Superb service, our waiter Miguel gave us his suggestions and everything was so good !
Will definitely come back and recommend this place to my family and friends!

Group of 4 for Valentine's Day. Had a Valentine's Day dinner menu, however all 4 diners would have to order from it. My wife had some recent dental work that would not justify choosing the Valentine menu, therefore we all had to choose from the regular menu which we did reluctantly. We saw a promotion that stated there would be a wine pairing offer, however we were told when we ordered dinner that the wine pairing was not available. My wife ordered the one pound lobster. What she got was about 12 oz of shell, about 1 oz of Ritz cracker filler and about 3 oz of lobster meat. For $50 it was very disappointing.
We had tried this restaurant 2 years ago on Valentine's Day and had a nice meal, but this year was not nearly as good. Sorry!

We're visiting from chicago - the land of steakhouses. And I must say, this is probably among top 3 favs. The scallops were incredible. Steak with champagne reduction sauce on side. Anything with champagne. And the Brussel sprouts were top notch as well. Loved the atmosphere. Staff was extremely friendly and not pushy. Let us take our time. I hope to be back next visit!!

Excellent restaurant, great ambiance. The food was wonderful and staff knowledgeable and attentive. Great place for casual drinks at the bar or a special evening at a romantic table. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Laguna Beach.

This is a wonderful restaurant right across from the Sand and Sea hotel in Laguna beach. Great location, historic house, delicious food and great service. I definitely recommend it. Much more sophisticated than a 'tavern'. Not just a steak house - they have fish too.

Fish entrees very good not great. Made the mistake of ordering seafood at a steak house. However, the scallop appetizer was delicious.

Went there for a birthday and loved the atmosphere...Our server was great, so efficient and personable. Salads were delicious and so were the cocktails. We ordered a large, expensive steak like a tomahawk and it was not good. It was fatty, chewy and really lacked flavor. If we go again I would order the fillet. I was disappointed since it was a special occasion and the meal was expensive.

Service was top notch, very attentive crew. The entrees my brother in law and I had were unfortunately not up to par . We both ordered the Rib Eye steaks and they were tough, even though we had ordered them medium rare. French fries and the other sides were good. Wife’s scallops were also good, just a bad meat day.

We had reservations to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. Food and service were excellent. The tables around the bar were extremely loud the night we were there. We will definitely be back for the incredible menu and service but we will request to not be seated in the bar area for a special occasion. We were not able to carry on a conversation due to the noise level in the bar area.

I went with my family for my birthday. We go every year for my birthday. Never again will I go there. My daughter ordered a salad as her main dish. There was a live bug in it!! The manager came over and offered her French fries instead!! Really??!? Then my meat was very under cooked. I couldn’t even eat it. I asked for medium. They took it back and then brought me risotto to make up for it. We already ordered 4 sides. I did not want more food! We ordered 2 desserts, 3 bottles of still water, wine, .... They didn’t comp anything. Just tried to push French fries and risotto on us. When you spend that much money, there should be food with no bugs, food cooked to order & something comped. Horrible. I will never ever go there again! And I’ll tell everyone I know.

Absolutely wonderful! Went for my boyfriends birthday since he has been wanting to go back. And we loved it!
