Seiya's sushi was fresh and delicious. We ordered the Geisha roll and Omakassi. They are a smaller place so they ran out of the sushi cigar by the time we can for dinner (6pm) but otherwise service was excellent. We'd definitely come again.

We came here for date night and were not disappointed. Everything from the sake, the sashimi, and sushi rolls were heavenly. We sat in a booth- the seating is very limited- and unfortunately there was a loud child seated next to us. That was the only slight downside to an otherwise amazing evening- we will definitely be back.

The food was really good but it was a bit pricey. The sake sampler was a good variety of different tastes.

Fantastic food. Highly recommend the Spicy Hulk, if not for the name alone, then for its amazing flavor and how carefully it's prepared with thinly shaved cucumber.

Each roll was terrific and the Hawaiian poke starter was fabulous.

Very mellow ambiance, great service, and outstanding food.

Excellent Japanese restaurant on Laurel St. in San Carlos. Wonderful food and service. We ate outside, not much atmosphere but breezy and comfortable. Lovely place but very small with only a few indoor tables, including two high tops. Lively sushi bar.

I have enjoyed Seiya very much in the past, but my most recent experience missed the mark. The food took a long time to arrive and for the price you can do better in the bay area. I can't recommend this spot anymore.

The sushi is the best you'll find in San Carlos or surrounding towns. The service is impeccable, especially at the bar. I once watched one of their suppliers of uni walk in with it fresh off the boat. If you're looking for the run of the mill joint this isn't it. Slightly more expensive than the large Japanese place down the street but WAY better all around.

The food was really good, but the restaurant is just a sliver of a place. There was a super noisy group and because it was such a small place, it was really hard to hear. I enjoyed the sushi rolls, the clam soup, and the uni! Was delicious. Definitely a place to try, not sure if we would make this one of our fave places to eat.

Have been many times and have never been disappointed. Everything about Seiya is outstanding: food, staff, ambiance (amazing music!) and decor, restrooms - everything! Great date night spot. We travel from the East Bay because it is that good!

Our first time here although we often eat Sushi. Enjoyed sitting at the Sushi bar with several friends. We had a lively interaction with our sushi chef and he prepared a number of special treats for us. Some were quite unique and everything was delicious! They also have a great selection of Saki and Asahi beer on tap It's a place we will return to next time we're in town!

I've never been to a Japanese restaurant where I didn't feel the need to have soy sauce and wasabi. Had a wonderful experience at Seiya trying new dishes that were absolutely delicious! The fish was wonderfully fresh and they had barley tea as an alternative to green tea. I'll definitely be back!

This is our second time for visit. Both times we are very happy with the meals. We had Omakase sushi and a number of the small dishes and rolls. They are all very tasty. However, the 9 piece sushi set the previous time had better selection than this time. I guess it really depends on the fish availability of the day.

They have a number of good selection of Sakes that match with food well too.

Really good food, though not sure how how yellow tail sashimi qualifies as carpaccio. Not enough servers but it was supposed to be a quiet night according to Open Table. Loved the chef's selection of omakase sushi.

I've been a regular Seiya customer but will not be going back. Possibly the chef has changed, but the quality of the food has changed. The radish in the radish salad was too thick and the dressing tasted like only soy sauce. In past visits the Himachi appetizer was perfect but on this visit, was over cooked. It tasted weird. The service was inconsistent and forgot a couple of our dishes. Disappointed!

We had a girls night out here on a Friday at 6pm (night owls, I know...). The ambiance was dark and moody, but clean. Our server was helpful with our restrictions (no shellfish for two of us, and a pregnant woman-no raw fish). Even though they are known for their nigiri and sashimi, we were able to feel full and satisfied without it. The beef tataki was melt in your mouth tender. I will definitely be back, especially after I've had the baby!

Good food and good service. I like it when restaurants try new things with the food they server. Seiya definitely does. They serve a lot of small plates so it is good to go with the group and share because you get to try a bunch of interesting things. Portions are not bug, but the food is good and you will not be disappointed.

I like sushi. I am not an expert. Their sushi was definitely fresh and of high quality. My mother who hd a mental block about sushi, changed her mind here. Was interesting to watch

We loved everything we ordered from the miso soup, various types of sushi, three types of grilled vegetables, and green tea ice cream. Service was terrific and we would make this a regular spot if we lived here. It's great!

With the kitchen closing at 9pm on Thursday, we were rushed as soon as we arrived. A restaurant closing this early should not offer reservations at 8:30pm.

The food was good with some excellent nigiri sushi; however, the ambiance and service did not impress.

The sushi was absolutely delicious, but not only that, they have certain plates on the menu like the "fish tacos" that will blow your mind a little bit. Absolutely delicious (by the way, TRY the fish tacos!). The fish is so fresh and some of the fish is so buttery and great that it almost melts in your mouth. Great sushi experience, I recommend.

Seiya has been our sushi place for the past 4 years, our favorite place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. When we are craving sushi we come here. The food seems to make me and my husband fall even further in love with each other through our pure enjoyment for food that is truly delicious! The staff is warm and welcoming and the chefs behind the sushi bar and friendly and do their work well! We LOVE Seiya! The fish is always fresh and the flavors always full. It is a little pricey if you eat as much as we do but its always worth it for the quality and craftsman ship we consistently experience here at Seiya!

Interesting sushi experience! Definitely try the Kobe roll! Two downfalls -- the place is really, really tiny and if you want traditional sushi, you'll get their take on it... Which can be good and bad. Overall, worth a try. Service is great!
