We went for our post anniversary Anniversary Dinner and it was fantastic! Had 4 of the plates between us and dessert. Everything was delicious. We would go back a lot if we lived close by.
Dinner was amazing . We think of ourselves as foodies and Sego did not disappoint. It was quite a treasure to find in this little community. If we lived close this would become our special place .
Amazing to find such innovative, fresh, delicious food in a very small town.
Excellent food served tapas style. Nice cozy atmosphere and attentive service.
We were in Kanab for a stop over during our road trip. We have appreciated the restaurant a lot especially for the atmosphere and the service which was great. The only tiny little thing we did not appreciate was that we got seated in a small round table outside completely in the dark while a couple after us got a much bigger and nicer table under a lamp.
Une cuisine inventive, raffinée et légère à partager avec des amis
I loved the sharable idea. My husband and I got to try a number of different things and enjoyed them all. The charcuterie plate and the pork belly and watermelon were to die for. Loved the beet salad as well!!
Sego is a superlative example of fine New York City dining.... but wait, Sego is in Kanab, UT!!! Yes, this restaurant rates right up there, imho, to some of the best restaurants in NYC. What Chef Shon and his team (kitchen and wait staff) offer up in this gem of a restaurant is nothing short of perfection!!
A very different approach to dining. Room was very noisy and loud back ground noises. The bone-in ribeye steak was better than any steak we have had in a long time, including at Las Vegas steakhouses. The salads were great, too.
Warm/inviting atmosphere, kind staff and outstanding / unique cuisine. You will not be disappointed, we never are 😉
The food is really good. We have been there a few times. However this time some of it was oversalted. A bit disappointing. I would go back again.
Very good food and the server was outstanding (he grew up in Kanab). We liked the "small plates" approach although it seems with four people, some consideration should be given to try to match the items of a selection with the number of people. Example: three falafel for four people? If billed as family style, you don't want the family fighting over portions.
They do not have a very large vegan selection. The tofu dish was good though.
Creative and fun!
Sego was a delightful restaurant. It felt like an oasis, because the quality was so much better than the restaurants we frequented close to Bryce and Zion National Parks. It was worth the 75 minute trip to get there. Since we often share courses when we go to restaurants it was great that this restaurant encourages sharing. We shared the fresh salmon special, and the duck lo mein dish, plus the roasted cauliflower. Our server suggested that would be a perfect amount for us, and she was absolutely right. We also shared a sorbet dessert, which was the perfect finishing touch for us. We would love Sego to open a branch in zCharleston, SC. They would fit in so well with the good restaurants we have in Charleston.
This is one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. The steak was in my top five best ever! I highly recommend this restaurant.
Fabulous cocktails! Don’t pass up the pork belly and watermelon - it was our favorite on an anniversary tasting menu that surpassed our expectations!
Traveling through Kanab and our Airbnb hosts highly recommended this place. The food and drinks were spectacular. So many prior reviews mentioned the incredible bursts of flavor in every dish. And I agree completely!
We were a group of four adults, family members sharing a trip and really enjoyed the shared plate concept. They serve the various plates you order in somewhat of a random fashion, but it seemed like they knew how to pair certain items together.
So, our amazing order was:
Elote Fritters and shrimp fried rice
Followed by AZ filet and potatoes
Then cauliflower with white bbq sauce and spicy chicken wings
Dessert was not to be outdone- crisp apple tart with ice cream and the flourless chocolate torte with caramel sauce (O.M.G.!!)
To top it all off, our server Holly was charming, engaging and created a relaxing interaction and made the entire experience very memorable. The ambiance was wonderful.
Superlative! Do not miss!
We love going to Sego! We took our daughter for the first time and she absolutely loved it. The Avocado Toast was tasty as always. The Chef special was a medium rear bone in ribeye that was cooked to perfection. The shrimp fried rice was full of flavor and even had a perfect little kick to it. The coconut cake was moist and full of flavor. The service was awesome and we can’t wait to go back!
Outstanding food and service! We were a party of five and felt spoiled as each dish arrived! We enjoyed close to ten different plates including dessert and were so impressed by the quality, presentation and unique tastes. Thank you for a delightful evening and an experience we won't soon forget!
I have been to a lot of places and have ate at some very fine restaurants this is by far the best food I have ever had the presentation the flavors were all amazing.
Excellent service! Great tasting food!
Amazing dinner! What a surprising and delightful find in Kanab. We had their bone in Ribeye, asparagus with oriental spices, and an amazing red and golden beet salad. Our meal was nothing short of stupendous... our waiter Aaron was attentive, the lovely dining room, just everything was perfect! We will be back!
The courses are refined, well prepared and very good. There is an interesting variety of vegetarian dishes. The service is attentive and flawless.
What a gem in this small town! If I could give it better than5 stars I would. I eat out often.
Excellent food, excellent service, highly recommend.
It’s all amazing. What a nice surprise in sleepy Kanab. Just go!
Best food for the value that I have ever had. Service is great. This place is worth driving some distance for. Try as many different menu items as possible since they are all unique and delicious.
Awesome great food service is wonderful
Enjoyed the tapas style servings. Had a variety of dishes for 3 people and each was a wonderful melding of flavors. The flourless chocolate dessert was amazing.
Loved Sego, great food and people. Definitely will return when we are in Utah.
I love Sego. Some of the absolute best customer service in town and one of the tastiest and most unique dining spots in Kanab.
Brought 2 vegan friends (one non vegan) for the 1st time to Sego. They loved the food and the service. It's so nice to have great, consistent food at a restarant in Kanab! Will be back.
It was ok. The food was unusual and we enjoyed most of it. The plates are small and meant to be shared so you have to purchase at least a couple of things. Somehow we didn't realized we were ordering lettuce wraps and we also ordered a salad plate, so too much lettuce. The shrimp dish was really good and so was the bread with mushrooms. We would probably want to try a different place next time we are in town because we don't get to Kanab often and there are lots of restaurant choices there. It was a little expensive for the experience.
FABULOUS! The food is delicious and inventive. We shared the “grilled cheese”, salmon special and beets. It is very obvious the chef chooses high quality ingredients. Service was impeccable. Cocktails were strong and tasty! Blueberry sorbet was very good. Best and most creative meal we have had in a long time. Delightful evening! We are going to have to visit Kanab more often.
We had a lovely dinner here during our first night in Kanab. Very creative menu, excellent preparation and presentation and great waitstaff. It might seem expensive for Kanab but for the quality of the food and service is very much on par with restaurants in Austin and other foodie havens.
Sego is by far the best restaurant in Southern Utah. They combine local ingredients with somewhat exotic flavors and the result is amazing. Can't wait to go back.
The quality of the food and service would stand out as excellent in any major metropolitan area but at fraction of the price. We visited several restaurants during our visit to Kanab none came close to Sego. Please try it out, you will not be disappointed!
We had a wonderful experience for dinner. The eldest son of the chef was our server. He was very personable and shared a lot of information and recommendations. Our food was delicious. And most importantly we had fun!! We would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant on your visit to Kanab.
